Summary
“First you’re going to read the chapter you failed. Then you’re going to read it again-““Why do I have to read it twice?!”“So you understand it, idiot.” Draco replied casually before continuing,“and then you are going to try and brew this potion.” He said while gesturing to the parchment that had instructions on it.“Oh for fucks sake.” Harry remarked.
Note
I figured it was time to write something about Drarry, seeing as I've been reading fics about them for literal years. It's their time to shine in my ship fic masterlist. Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas or theories for what's to come in this series! I love your comments! Hope you enjoy <3

Chapter 2

Surprisingly, Friday was not the last day that Harry had seen Malfoy all weekend. It was a little bit frustrating that he just kept showing up.

While Harry was hanging out on the Quidditch pitch, Malfoy would soon show up with his friends. When Harry was sneaking around the corridors at night, he would find Malfoy having a walk.

It was kind of refreshing, although Harry would never say it out loud, to see Malfoy so often. He told himself he was only relieved because the more he saw him, the less he didn’t. Which meant the less time Malfoy had alone to scheme.

Harry was getting ready to go for his nightly stroll underneath his invisibility cloak. He threw it over his head and silently made his way through the common room and out the door. He really loved these walks around the castle at night time. He felt like he didn’t have to be anybody for anyone. He didn’t have to think about anything but the way the stars looked out the window and how many there might be, up there in the sky. His favorite spot to go was the astronomy tower. To just stand and look out at the grounds and at the sky.

Maybe that’s why he always sees Malfoy walking the corridors at night as well. Maybe he likes it for the same reasons.

He sighs to himself, leaning over the edge of the balcony at the top of the astronomy tower, the invisibility cloak discarded at his feet. He let the wind blow his hair back from his forehead, enjoying the tingle of cold it left along his cheeks and nose. He stared out at the sky, fingers brushing against the stone of the rail and let his thoughts drift even more than they already were.

“Sleepwalking, Potter?”

Harry jumped, hand immediately going to his wand in his back pocket, head snapping towards the voice. He was met with the sight of Malfoy, his pale skin and hair a sharp contrast to his robes in the darkness.

“Fucking shit, Malfoy. Warn a guy before you scare him half to death.”

Harry shoved his wand back into his pocket and turned back to look out over the balcony again. He heard Malfoy snicker softly, but he didn’t say anything as he took a spot next to Harry, leaning forward so his elbows propped him up on the rail.

They stood in silence for a while before Harry got curious, turning his head to look at Malfoy.

“Still here?” He asked.

Malfoy didn’t look at him right away, so he figured he’d keep talking.

“I thought you needed a long weekend away from me. You miss me or something?” Harry teased softly, his tone indicating he clearly didn’t mean anything by it.

Since when was he purposely trying to be nice to Mafloy?

“Or something, Potter.” Came Malfoys reply.

Harry didn’t look away from him, and eventually, Malfoy turned to look at him as well. His cheeks and nose had turned pink from the cold, and his hair was being blown softly by the wind.

He much preferred this hairstyle, Harry thought. When it wasn’t slicked back it was actually quite fluffy, especially when it was windblown.

“You have a staring problem.” Mafloy said swiftly before turning his head back to look up at the sky.

Harry huffed a small laugh through his embarrassment. He was staring at Malfoy wasn’t he?

“I was thinking about how weird your hair looked when you didn’t slick it back. It’s all-” Harry made a vague motion around his own head, before pushing his own hair back from his forehead. Only for it to lay right back where it had been before.

“Insulting my looks now, Potter? No need to even comment on the disaster on your head.”

Harry laughed again at that, he wasn’t sure when Malfoy became amusing rather than irritating but he couldn’t find it in himself to complain about it.

“I’ve tried to fix it, believe me.”

Malfoy was silent for a second before responding,

“Well it makes sense that it would be untamable. The Chosen One and his untamable personality, and hair. Paired with those glasses, you’re as untame looking as it gets.” Malfoy smiled a bit at his own joke. Harry smiled as well and shook his head.

“Not that your hair looks bad like it is, by the way. It’s just different. Good different.” Harry stumbled out, awkwardly averting his gaze to anywhere that wasn’t Malfoy out of embarrassment.

Malfoy looked a bit surprised at Harry’s comment but it quickly turned into a smirk,

“Complimenting me now, Potter? Careful or someone might think you were flirting with me.”

Harry spluttered at that. Flirting with Malfoy? No! He was just being friendly is all-

Malfoy’s laugh broke him out of his thoughts,

“I’m only kidding, Potter. Can’t take a joke to save your life.” Malfoy teased, his teeth shining in the dark.

Harry shook his head, reaching his hand out to give Malfoy a bit of a shove, grinning back at him.

“Keep teasing me like that and someone might think you’re the one flirting with me.” Harry shot back, watching Malfoy as he turned to look at him. His head was slightly bowed and he had a grin on his face. Harry wasn’t sure how long they looked at eachother, but he watched as Malfoy’s face turned from joking, to just happy. Maybe a bit curious. He shook his head at Harry’s comment before standing up straight.

“Well this has been enlightening, Potter, but I think it’s time to head to bed. I think you’re getting a bit delusional from sleep deprivation.”

Harry opened his mouth to say something, turning to look back out at the sky. He shut his mouth though, and took a deep breath.

“Yeah, you’re right.” He bent down to grab his cloak off the ground,

“Let’s go then, yeah?”

Malfoy was looking at him with a bit of a strange look on his face before nodding and turning to walk back into the castle,

“Yeah.”

Harry thought about that night on the astronomy tower more often than he would like to admit over the weekend. There was just something about Malfoy when he didn’t have to be Malfoy. He was more carefree, and definitely less guarded.

He was especially embarrassed about how often he thought about Malfoy’s hair. What does it mean when you can’t stop thinking about another bloke’s hair? When you wonder how soft it probably is, or wonder why he changed the style of it? He got even more embarrassed when he remembered his lame ass comment about Malfoy’s hair, and how Malfoy had responded to him. Maybe he had been kind of flirting with him. And staring at him. Definitely was staring at him.

Harry could feel his cheeks heating up as he buried his face into his pillow. God, there’s something wrong with him.

He huffed a breath of air into the pillow before flopping back over onto his back. Tomorrow was Monday again, which meant classes were starting again. This also meant that his sessions with Malfoy would continue.

Instead of dreading the study session, Harry was actually excited. He couldn’t help but wonder what would come of it this time. He hoped that Malfoy would be more like the Malfoy he saw on the astronomy tower instead of the Malfoy he is when he’s at school. He preferred that Malfoy. He’d be friends with that Malfoy.

Harry slowly drifted off thinking about how Malfoy would act tomorrow, running through a bunch of different conversations in his head.

He fell asleep with his glasses on.
