Chapter 6
"I refused to believe that a young Black did this, did he get a trial?" Minerva rushes into the ministry right after the order's meeting.
"He did not, but he was the secret keeper-"
"I don't give a fuck, give my boy a trial!" she demands.
Effie wouldn't forgive her if she remained indifferent. If Effie were still alive, she wouldn't have let her son Sirius Black be thrown into prison for killing his brother James Potter.
Effie would never have believed that Sirius would betray James. And Minerva agreed with her on this.
Sirius was someone who admired and loved James, not someone who wanted to hurt him, and his patronus was a bloody dog, the most loyal animal ever. Sirius was innocent. He must be.
Effie had lost one son, she couldn't lose the other one.
Minerva was sure that James was watching from above and he was furious because he couldn't help, he couldn't help Sirius, and he couldn't comfort him.
She was sure that Effie was gently stroking James's hair and Fleamont was hugging them beth, they were giving James comfort and reassuring him that everything would be okay eventually.
If Sirius was innocent, and he was innocent then–
She has to help him. She must avenge the memory of James and Lilly Potter, she must ensure that their son has a decent, safe and good childhood, she must help her boy.
And she did.
Minerva McGonagall was not surprised when she received an invitation to the wedding.
Sirius Orion Black's wedding.
With whom?
With Remus John Lupin.
It is obvious.
It was obvious to Minerva since they were fifteen years old when they showed up for another detention that year. None of them registered the cauldron in her office.
When Remus entered, he complained about the strong smell of Sirius's perfume. As it happened, Sirius couldn't have them on because he had just gotten out of the shower after Quidditch practice, there was no way the smell would still linger. So he rolled his eyes and said, "All I feel is your stupid chocolate, so don't blame me!" Remus didn't have any chocolate with him. James gave him detention for it.
They started arguing.
Minerva smiled slightly and popped the cookie into her mouth.
Amortentia.
Minerva never lost a bet, so she went to brag to Horace about the invitation she received.
When Sirius and Remus were thirteen, she bet him 600 galleons that they would end up together. She just won a bet.
She was so proud that her boys were together again and happy again, slowly recovering and dealing with the loss they had suffered.

Minerva McGonagall, looking at the list of new students, sees two names that catch her attention.
Harry Black-Potter
Teddy Lupin-Black
Maybe it won't be that bad after all?
Minerva McGonagall once again has the opportunity to shout
"Black, Potter detention!"
They definitely don't pay her enough for this.
