Powers!

Harry looked at his surroundings with pure shock. What had just happened? How did it happen?! All he'd been doing was looking at his uncle, and suddenly the man had caught on fire.

He hadn't had much time to marvel at the fact that his uncle had caught on fire, or that he looked almost monstrous. Instead, his aunt was glaring at him, her appearance looking demonic. Not as horrible as Vernon, but still clearly not nice.

She still looked like a monster to him.

“Out! Get out, you Freak! Never return!”

Harry began to get scared, running to the door. He didn't notice that Vernon’s flames went out as he ran away, scared that he's going to get hurt, or that the police would come after him. He also didn't want the man to die.

Once he got far enough away that he wasn't in immediate danger, he began to think back on the situation. When the flames had shown up, he was angry and scared. He was scared that Vernon was going to hurt him again after he made a mistake while making his dinner, having burned his hand, causing him to drop a pan with a few strips of bacon still cooking in it. Then, as he was wadling his way towards him, he began to get angry. The fear was still there, but his anger took over for a moment. He wanted the man to burn like the demon he appeared to be.

Then, the man had just burst into flames!

Now, Harry wasn't exactly too old. He was only eight, but he decided to test something. He thought about those flames, their color, their heat, everything. Then, he tried to cause those flames to form, focusing on the anger still in his system.

The flames blazed into existence in the palm of his hand. He began to get excited, realizing what he could do. He could summon fire!

There was a weird feeling though. Like there was something going on all around him. That's when he began to realize that he was a small child who just got kicked out. This made him feel scared for a moment, remembering all the things he'd overheard Petunia telling Dudley about how he shouldn't go off alone, and how he shouldn't just trust strangers. Then, Harry realized one other thing that made this better…

He didn't have to deal with his family anymore! He didn't have to deal with the people that hurt and starved him!

He needed to find a place to stay though. Maybe the orphanage? No, there wasn't a guarantee they would let him stay, and he'd heard far too many horror stories about what goes on there, mostly from his uncle whatever he'd not been in a good mood.

Stay with a friend? Well, he didn't have any of those, and even if he did, he wouldn't wanna inconvenience them.

Beg for money? No, then he might get brought back to his aunt and uncle. He didn't want to go back.

He couldn't think of anything else! He just needed a place to stay!

He needed to feel safe!

Out of frustration, Harry closed his eyes while turning to punch a tree. He wasn't really thinking at the moment. The only thing in his head was that he needed to go. He needed to be somewhere where nobody could get him.

His fist didn't hit the tree though. Instead, he began to fall.

That's when he began to hear everything. Feel everything! Why were there so many voices?! Why did it feel so hot, and yet feel like he was freezing?! There was so much pain, crying, screaming, pain, tears, blood, Pain, death, suffering, anger, PAIN! Oh, why won't it stop?! Please make it all…!

And then, it stopped.

Harry took a moment to regain his senses, looking around to see where he was. His breathing was shaky, his eyes were watering, his limbs were shaking.

Then, he looked up and saw where he was.
