Chapter 11
"We had no choice, James knowing Hermione, she would definitely look for a way to help us, but we know we can't be helped," Regulus sighed as he said this.
"I know honey everything will be fine and when that time comes everything will be fine" said James looking at his wife and smiling at her.
The two then sat in silence continuing to drink tea and enjoy each other's presence until they were interrupted by loud and musical laughter from their little princess who ran up to them laughing and wrapped Regulus around the waist in a big hug.
Both parents looked at their child with joy and if you looked more carefully you could also see sadness in them, but both enjoy every moment together until the moment they are forced to be separated from each other.
Hermione looked at the trio enjoying the loving moment for a moment then she turned and emerged from the scroll for a short moment she just stood and tried to take in what she had just seen and then she felt that unbeknownst to her tears had started to roll down her cheeks she quickly wiped them away she ran her eyes over the hall trying to understand what to do next, then she called up the tape that recorded the death of her friends, slowly inhaling and exhaling, she dived inside to find out what happened on the day that her friends were killed.
Opening her eyes Hermione found herself standing at the gates of the imperial palace looking around trying to see something in the distance everything was dark because it was night and everyone had already gone to rest then she heard the palace gates open behind her she turned and saw severus coming out then he turned to the guards guarding the castle gates and said they were free then behind severus hermione could see another silhouette of a person, but she could not see his or her face because it was covered by the helmet of the imperial soldiers.
The guards saluted him and walked away, severus and the unknown person took their places and even then Hermione felt and understood when something was wrong, because severus is the director of all the guards and as far as Hermione knew his duties did not include guarding a simple castle gate but protecting the imperial family what did it matter he was supposed to be inside the palace at this moment she started to take steps closer to the two people who were standing at the gate wanting to see the other person's face more clearly she took a few steps forward when she heard a large crowd marching behind her she quickly turned around and saw several people emerge from the darkness silhouettes with swords and bows in their hands she knew there was nothing good then she turned towards the gate and saw that severus and even the second person did not react to the fact that an armed group of soldiers is coming towards them, then Hermione realized in horror that Severus is responsible for the fact that her friends and Cassandra's parents are dead.
Hermione's heart started pounding in her chest her head started to spin a little then she turned back to the group of soldiers behind her and met the chest of a tall man she took a small step back and slowly raised her gaze up and then her gaze met the blood red eyes from the start she thought he was looking right at her, his skin looked ash gray in the dark his face was beautiful with high cheekbones a fine nose and a sharp chin line and he had no hair but those red eyes made hermione's body freeze in terror she thought that he could see him but that was not possible and then he continued to walk forward passing through hermione's body she turned in the direction the man was walking and followed them.
From the beginning, the man stopped at Severus, who bowed to him and said that everything was ready to occupy the castle, and then a terrifying smile appeared on the man's face, which made every single hair of Hermione's body stand up in fear.
Then they continued walking in the direction of the castle, everything was quiet, the only sound that could be heard was the barking of dogs that sounded somewhere in the distance, after a while, Hermione found herself at the castle door, which had been broken open and the soldiers who guarded it had been killed, and Hermione looked at it all with horror. , because she knew she couldn't help anything.
Then she found herself in james and regulus' room, how she got here she doesn't remember, but in front of her, james was fighting against severus and regulus was fighting someone else in the fight, hermione could see with one glance that her friends were in a terrible situation, because neither james nor regulus used their abilities but they were fighting with what they had james looked tired he had dark circles under his eyes as if he hadn't slept in days and then he made a mistake and severus saw his chance and drove her sword through his heart hermione put her hand to mouth and watched with wide eyes as his body just fell to the floor she couldn't move she felt like a statue and then a scream full of pain rang out over the castle at first hermione thought it was her screaming but then she turned to regulus who looked to her husband who was killed in front of her eyes hermione watched as her friend slashed her enemy's throat with a sharp movement and blood began to flow painting the floor a deep red and then regulus attacked severus and the man was carried across the room against the wall where he fell unconscious.
Hermione watched as tears rolled down Regulus' cheeks this was the first time she had seen this woman cry in front of her and so broken Regulus fell to her knees in front of her husband and with shaking hands placed them on his cheeks and then she pulled him closer to her and continued to cry for a very for a short moment then she kissed james on the lips and got up she started walking out of the room she turned and started running and hermione followed her on the way regulus met one of the soldiers and ordered him to meet her at the back of the castle with a horse he turned and ran away and regulus continued to run until while she reaches her destination, she quickly opened the door where cassandra was standing frozen, without saying anything, regulus took the girl by the arms and both of them started running to the back of the castle, after running out, they were already met by a soldier with a horse as he was ordered, then cassandra recovered from her shock and started asking regulus who answered that everything would be fine and then footsteps were heard, Regulus and Hermione quickly moved towards them Regulus didn't hesitate and gave Cassandra to the soldier and gave his last orders and both watched as they both rode away then Regulus with her head raised turned towards her opponent she didn't flinch and even didn't take her eyes off the man.
"You're late, she's already gone," said Regulus in an ice-cold voice.
"It's a pity, but it's okay, sooner or later I'll get to her and you won't be able to do anything there," said the man with an angry expression on his face.
"trust me even then it won't happen" saying that, Regulus pulled out a dagger and attacked the man, but all Regulus' strength was already exhausted and the last thing she felt was a sharp blade that pierced her heart and her daughter's scream.
Hermione ran to her, crouched down next to her with tears in her eyes, she watched her life fade away, but then Hermione heard Regulus whispering something, for the first time she couldn't hear anything, so she leaned closer to hear what was said more clearly.
"forgive me for what I did to you, I know that one day you will look at this very day, but I have to ask you something, please help cassandra find her father's polearm, which he lost when he visited the fairy kingdom" the corner of Regulus' mouth slightly lifted in a weak he smiles "he always loses his things but that weapon is very important because he has a small part of james powers built into him and in the wrong hands will lead to disaster I know you can help her find it and then you have to go to the goblins where I…. ..." Before Regulus finished what she said, she took her last breath and closed her eyes.
Hermione hugged her friend and cried the next time she opened her eyes she was back in the hall of residence but she couldn't bring herself to stand up because everything she had just seen pushed her to the ground and the emotions she felt seemed to drown her in the ocean of emotions.
