Found?
Sirius enters the house, throwing his jacket aside. It lands on James' head.
"That wasn't a very nice thing to do," James says as he puts the jacket away to dry.
"There has been another attack," Sirius says. "This time, it's the McKinnons. They were found dead in the wee hours of the morning."
"Wasn't Marlene your girlfriend, Pete?" James asks, then.
"Yes," Peter says, looking up from the crossword puzzle he was doing. "But it is painful to learn about her death, so can we talk about something else?"
"Sure," Sirius says. "Dumbledore is organizing another mission, and I plan to participate in it."
"Isn't that kinda dangerous?" Remus asks, as Peter goes back to doing his crossword.
"This one is a deep dive," Sirius says. "Dumbledore is convinced that there is a spy in the Order, and he believes that this mission would flush them out."
The pencil in Peter's hand breaks, due to him holding it too tightly. He mutters under his breath and then decides to abandon his attempt at solving the crossword puzzle.
"I am going out," he says. "I crave something sweet. Would you like me to get you something?"
"I'd like a slice of strawberry cake, come to think of it," James says. "And I know for a fact that Remus craves a chocolate cake."
Remus shoots a half-hearted glare at James, but doesn't protest.
"I will pass," Sirius says.
Peter nods and walks out. He heads in the direction of the nearest cake shop he is aware of. As he walks, he starts to develop the strangest feeling that he is being followed. He barely has the time to turn around before a large black dog pounces on him, knocking him down on the ground and pinning him down. This particular dog is so familiar...so very familiar. Dread pools in his gut.
And then his frantic thoughts are stopped by a jet of red light, and he descends into a blissful darkness.
