Beginnings
Regulus Black.
Regulus Black, the sensation all over the world for his music and his poetry. He has 5 studio albums, multiple grammys, and countless other musical awards to his name.
When he was eighteen, fresh out of his boarding school, he released his first song on youtube. It was called ‘I Love My Boyfriend’, and was about a relationship he had a year prior with a boy named Benjy. But unfortunately, he had eyes for someone else while in that said relationship.
What a mess.
Thankfully that had all passed, and had even shown Barty and Evan the song. They had been begging him to put it up somewhere, they thought it could get him some attention and put him on the map. Regulus, of course, thought it was absolute shit.
Drunk Regulus thought differently.
“Reggie, Reggie, Reggie!” Barty singsonged from the couch over, “You should post that song you recorded a couple months ago! You know, the one about a certain Golden boy.”
“Yeah Reg! We keep telling you this, but you never do!” Evan whined, “I know drunk Reg will make the right decision.”
“I don’t even have a youtube account, guys!”
“So?” Said Evan, “Me and Barty will make you one, come here Barty.”
Barty jumped clumsily off of the couch and onto the computer laid on Regulus’s desk. His hands were shaky and kept messing up the password, until he finally got it right.
“Okay, okay. What should we call it?” Asked Evan.
“The Star who’s going to be a star!” Barty yelped as he typed in youtube.com and clicked to make a new account.
“That’s the dumbest thing you have ever said, and that’s saying something!” Regulus said as he giggled between words, “Just call it by my name.”
Barty starts to type in “Regulus Black” and clicks post to the new account.
“Okay, how do we upload this?” Barty askes.
“Here, let me do it.” Evan speaks rapidly as he gently pushes Barty out of the chair, and opens a new tab to an editing software. He clicks files and puts on an image of all three of them at a diner the other day, and adds an audio file to Regulus’s song. He downloads the video, and after about 30 seconds, he goes back to Youtube, picks a thumbnail of Regulus, and posts the video.
“Okay, that’s that I guess!” Regulus says while grabbing another bottle, he’s absolutely drunk out of his mind right now.

When he woke up the next morning, the hangover he had was unbearable. He felt like his friend Pandora had just braided his intestines. He quickly ran to the bathroom and gagged, for a few minutes until bile rose in his throat.
“Ew, fuck.” He said in a raspy voice as he put water on his toothbrush to feel a bit cleaner. He then repeated that step and put toothpaste onto his toothbrush to finalize. Regulus stepped out of his bathroom and slowly creeped downstairs into the living room.
In the living room, he saw Ted sitting on the couch. Regulus’s cousin Andromeda and her husband Ted had taken him in at 14, after CPS was called on him & Sirius’s parents. Sirius was taken to the Potters, and Regulus to the Tonks. A rift had been created between the two boys since Sirius first attended Hogwarts boarding school, and nothing had ever been the same since. Since he met James Potter. James Potter with his messy hair, and his gorgeous sun kissed hips and winter kissed lips and oh! His glasses and his loose smile and the way he lights up the room and-
Regulus was infatuated with him. Oh he so was. But he had no chance with him now, and even if he did, Sirius was still a thick knife on the road, able to flatten a tire in seconds. But never mind that, Regulus has a new life now. He has great friends, and great parental figures in his life. Life is simply great, and avoidance is key to continue this streak.
“Hey Regulus.” Ted says in a soft tone, he knows how Regulus gets after drinking, “You need anything to eat.”
“No thanks.” Regulus says in what he hopes is a kind voice- but he knows it’s not.
“Alright, just let me know if you need anything. Andy is in our room upstairs getting ready for her friend's wedding.” Ted says, and then reaches for the remote to resume the show he’s watching, Stranger Things.
Regulus is confused, until he looks at the time. It’s 10:17 AM. He probably should’ve expected that, but for some reason he feels mad at himself for waking up so late. He reaches for his phone in his pocket until he realizes he had left it upstairs in the midst of the sickness he felt that morning.
Regulus drags himselfs upstairs and lays himself onto his bed before reaching to his bedside table to unplug and turn on his phone.
He wakes up to 99+ missed messages, and a few missed calls. Regulus’s panic is diminished as he reads the messages, though.

Evan[7:11AM]: Me too, when r u coming home???
Pandora[7:11AM]: In a couple days, booked the train tix to come home a few days ago
Barty[7:11AM]: Guys.
Evan[7:11AM]: YAYYY CANT WAIT

Pandora[7:12AM]: ?
Barty[7:12AM]: Evan, do you remember anything from last night?????
Pandora[7:12AM]: Omfg what did u guys do now
Evan[7:12AM]: I swear I don’t remember anything!!
Barty[7:12AM]: So you don’t remember us making Reg a yt channel???????
Evan[7:12AM]: huh?
Evan[7:12AM]: No
Evan[7:12AM]: wait.
Evan[7:12AM]: shit did we finally get Reg to post that vid last night or was that all a drunken induced dream???
Pandora[7:13AM]: oh my god u guys didn’t
Barty[7:13AM]: We did but that’s not a problem in my eyes
Barty[7:13AM]: In fact, our plan worked a little to well

Pandora[7:13AM]: WHAT
Evan[7:13AM]: OMFG

Pandora[7:14AM]: I mean even if reg never admits it, we all know that reg has always dreamed of becoming a musician

Barty[7:14AM]: After Regulus is done freaking out he will prob be excited

Barty[7:16AM]: He usually sleeps in till like 10 when he drinks this much

Regulus here’s the doorbell rings and doesn’t bother to get up, he knows Ted will let them in.
He basks in the silence and shock for approximately 3 seconds until his door bursts open.
“Reggie!” Barty says boisterously, “You’re famous!”
“No I’m not.” Regulus replies dryly, “I have gotten some attention on a mediocre song, and it will soon blow over. Plus, you took advantage of me while drunk and let me post that video! I could get you arrested for that, you know?”
Evan rolls his eyes at both of the boys before sitting on the edge of Regulus’s bed.
“You know Reg, this could really create a career for you. I know you think it’s weird or dumb, but you have a gift and I really think you could go far!”
Regulus ponders for a moment before responding, “You’re probably right, but I’m too hungover to deal with this right now.” Regulus then grabs his blanket that Pandora crochet for him and snuggles into it, very un-Regulus like.
Barty and Evan laugh before getting off of the bed and grabbing his computer, to show him later.

Regulus, indeed, had become successful shortly after this affair. A few days after he saw a instagram DM from Slytherin Records, asking to meet with him in person.
And he did.
He told Andromeda and Ted all about it, and they drove 30 minutes downtown to go over the contracts and all the professional shit that Regulus was never too good at, no matter how much his parents tried.
Another couple weeks passed and he was officially signed on, and met his manager, Dorcas Meadows. She was a few years older than him and was new to the business.
Upon the first meeting, Barty burst into the room and soon got his foot twisted on the carpet and fell on his ass. Dorcas laughed so hard until her cheeks were a pale pink.
Regulus liked her.
Soon after that, the song was put onto spotify for an official release and blew up even bigger with Slytherins influential reputation, and Regulus started gaining more and more fans until he was pushed to release an album.
His first album was entitled, “LA, Who Am I To Love You?” and was a 46 minute, 13 track album.
Track 1 was entitled “A Pearl” and is about his relationship with Benjy, again. It explores heartache and the pearl in his head symbolizes the scars the relationship had left on him, even if he was so young when it had happened.(Written at 16)
Track 2 was entitled “Arcadia” and is about a reflection on his naive search of love as a child all the way through his current teenage years.(Written at 18)
Track 3 was entitled “Natalie Wood” and was about a girl in his boarding school that he had once known. She was one of the most popular and prestigious girls in his school, and would hang out with him in secret since Regulus was not one of the most favorable people ever. She was a few years older than him, and finally broke down under the pressure and killed herself.(Written at 14)
That was one of the first times Regulus had felt the need to cut himself, but thankfully Evan, Barty and Pandora had helped him recover since he was 13 years old, but of course setbacks happen now and then. Even after moving in with Andy and Ted.
Track 4 is entitled “Fade Into You” and is about Regulus and Barty’s friendship. How he has always had a connection with him and can simply feel comforted in his presence. They have a deep connection that both know cannot ever be broken.(Written at 16)
Track 5 is entitled “How to never stop being sad” which is his guilt over his and Sirius’s relationship. How he misses him so deeply, but cannot reach out in fear of rejection. “No, no you were the one who cared too hard, not them.”(Written at 16)
Track 6 is entitled “my tears ricochet” and is about how Sirius has hurt him. How Sirius used to comfort him in the cold hallways full of sobbing, but now they are strangers who can’t bear to hear the other's name for one second. (Written at 17)
Track 7 is entitled “I Love My Boyfriend” the famous song that is played on radios at all time, and the song that got him a record deal. (Written at 17)
Track 8 is entitled “Paper Bag” which has double meanings in between the letters. It’s about Regulus’s desire for love and acceptance in the face of rejection and disappointment. Using an eating disorder as a form of saying how someone has hurt him so deeply, though he means it in the literal and metaphorical sense. Benjy really did do irrevocable damage his brain.(Written at 18)
Track 9 is entitled “Pawn Shop Blues” and is about Regulus getting rid of every memory of Sirius, in hopes to forget him. How Regulus is broken without his big brother at his side, how he is willing to lose Sirius just so he can be happy.(Written at 18)
Track 10 is entitled “Twilight” which is about broken promises between him and Benjy. How they both loved different people in the relationship, but unfortunately the girl loved him back as well. Essentially a different perspective to “I Love My Boyfriend.”(Written at 18)
Track 11 is the track title of his album, and is a spoken word moment on the album. It talks about Sirius, James, Benjy, and his family. About all of his hopes and dreams and all of his crashes and burns. How he wants to defy his family and do the opposite of their teachings. (Written at 18)
Tack 12 is entitled “Thunder” and is about his brother Sirius. How Sirius had changed ever since arriving at Hogwarts. How he is a completely different person to him than his friends. He’s a happy go-lucky soul until they are in the same capacity. (Written at 14)
Track 13 is the closing track on the album, entitled “Crack Baby” and is a letter to himself. A letter about how fucking hard it is to withdrawl from his addiction, using drugs as a metaphor for self inflicted harm. (Written at 15)
And fuck, this album wrapped people around Regulus’s finger, and they haven’t left since.
