The Cullens ****Revised 4/11/25****
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
August 2004
Hadrian's first day back to school had been a good one so far. His first period was with Alice and Hadrian had enjoyed pairing with her during the assignment. She was so bubbly, and her personality fit so well with Hadrian's. She had been right; they were fast friends.
Second period hadn't been as fun.
He didn't have Edward or Alice in his class and Jessica had forced her way into the seat next to his. She continued to try and get his attention or ask questions about Alice and Edward. Hadrian just tried to ignore her for the most part without being openly rude. He simply told her that he didn't know much about them yet considering he had just met them.
"But you already seem so close to that little dark-haired girl. You must know something about them. I bet she wants to date you," Jessica insisted. Hadrian just rolled his eyes. He really hoped Jessica wasn't in his next period.
"She doesn't want to date me, Jessica. Even if she did, it wouldn't matter. I don't like girls," Hadrian said once again. Jessica just pouted and ignored Hadrian like she always did.
"She would leave you alone if she thought you had a girlfriend. I would love to help you warn her off," Jessica offered with a hopeful smile. Hadrian just shook his head and frowned at her.
"Are you being deliberately obtuse? I don't need you to warn her off, Jessica. She respects my autonomy. I have already told her that I don't like girls, and she respects that. You are the only girl in this school who simply refuses to respect that," Hadrian finally snapped at her. The bell rang then, and he snatched up his stuff and stormed out of the room. He turned a corner headed to his next class and slammed right into what felt like a brick wall.
He stumbled backward and was prevented from falling by a pair of gentle cold hands. He looked up and blushed when he realized he had slammed into none other than Emmett Cullen.
"Sorry," He mumbled with a small smile. Emmett smiled back. He let go of Hadrian and then leaned down and picked up the books he had dropped.
"Why were you in such a hurry? You seemed mad," Emmett asked as he handed Hadrian back his books. Hadrian just rolled his eyes and huffed.
"The dark-haired girl you asked about this morning, Jessica, just won't get a clue. I swear she is the only person in this school who refuses to accept the fact that I don't like girls. She is convinced that Alice wants me and was trying to convince me to date her to make Alice back off. She is so stupid," Hadrian explained. "It is just frustrating that she refuses to listen."
"How long has she known?" Emmett asked him curiously. Hadrian laughed.
"Since we were like eleven. I have known her my whole life. I have always known that I like boys over girls. So, when all the other kids started becoming interested in each other, she 'confessed' that she liked me. I told her right then that I would never like her as more than a friend. She has never listened," Hadrian answered.
"You never thought to date someone just to prove it to her? I would think that was a sign she couldn't ignore," Emmett inquired. Hadrian blushed and shook his head.
"No, I am probably a bit more old-fashioned than most teenagers. I don't want to casually date someone that I can't see myself spending forever with. I won't date just to prove I'm gay. When I do decide to date, it will be because I can truly see a future with someone," Hadrian said with conviction. Emmett just grinned at him and winked.
"Nothing wrong with that. It's a bit refreshing honestly. Come on let me walk you to your next class. You have History right? Edward does too, he can keep the pesky girls away from you," Emmett offered. Hadrian blushed again and nodded.
"You won't be late to class, will you?" Hadrian asked.
"Nah, even if I am, it's no big deal. It's English Lit. with your Uncle. I will just tell him I was late because I was protecting you from teenage girls," Emmett teased and Hadrian just laughed and let the vampire walk him to class. It was really nice and neither of them noticed said Uncle watching them from the doorway of his classroom. He was grinning from ear to ear.
"Oh, Reggie and Sev are going to lose their minds. Their sweet boy flirting with vampires," Remus said to himself as he retreated to his desk. He would see if the boy really used that excuse or not when he was late to class. This was going to be so fun watching his brother-in-law navigate this bump in the road.
The rest of Hadrian's day had been so pleasant.
Edward sat next to him during History and offered tidbits of information that wasn't in the History books. Hadrian loved talking to someone who had lived through some of those things. Jasper and Rosalie had been waiting for the two of them after class and the four of them had walked to lunch together.
Emmett and Alice were waiting by the door to the cafeteria. Alice had walked through the lunch line with him chatting nonstop while Jasper just followed behind them.
"So," Hadrian asked quietly. "How do you lot normally get away with not eating? Does anyone ever question it?" Alice laughed.
"We have mastered the art of pretending. Besides, most humans, especially teenagers only see what they want to see. It is easy to trick the mind," Alice told him. "You will see." Hadrian nodded as he got his tray and the three of them headed to the table.
"Saved a spot for you here," Emmett said and patted the chair next to him. Hadrian grinned and sat down. He was surprised when Alice pushed Jasper into the chair on his other side. He heard the newest vegetarian inhale deeply and relax a bit.
"If it is hard to be around so many humans right now, then why do you do it?" Hadrian asked casually.
"We try to be as 'normal' as possible. The younger we pretend to be the longer we can stay somewhere," Rosalie answered. Hadrian nodded and took a bite of his lunch.
"I mean, I understand that. We will have to move in a few decades before the people in town realize that my Dads and Uncles are not aging the way they are supposed to. My Papa is a Potion Master so he will make Aging potions that will make them look older than they are but that will only work for so long," Hadrian told them.
He smiled when he watched Edward bring an apple to his mouth and Rosalie lifted a water bottle to her lips. Neither actually bit or drank but it did look like they had and anyone watching would assume they had. It was smart.
"What I meant was, if you are currently still struggling with your urges, why don't you just stay home or come up with an excuse like being ill that will explain why you don't attend school?" Hadrian explained himself.
"First, there is really such a thing as potions?" Emmett asked. Hadrian smiled and nodded.
"Oh yeah, my Papa owns an apothecary in Seattle. I am actually a pretty decent brewer myself," Hadrian answered.
"And there is a potion that will make you look older than you actually are?" Edward asked in awe.
"Yep, there is literally a potion for everything. And if there isn't a potion for it, my Papa can probably create one. He is pretty amazing," Hadrian said with glee. "You guys really don't know anything about Wixen?"
"We don't. I don't think Carlisle does either or I am sure he would have mentioned it before," Edward answered him. Hadrian shrugged.
"That's weird. I have actually met a vampire before at the market in Seattle. There are all kinds of creatures in Seattle. Goblins, Centaurs, Vampires, Veela, Kitsune, Neko, and so many more. I am actually really surprised. My family would be happy to introduce you to magical communities. You could actually settle somewhere away from Muggles completely and never have to move again," Hadrian insisted.
"Are you joking?" Rosalie demanded. Hadrian shook his head.
"I swear I'm not joking. We could show you," Hadrian insisted.
"That sounds too good to be true," Jasper whispered. Hadrian patted his hand.
"I know. But it is true," Hadrian said gently. "I know it's probably a lot to take in, but my family and I are about to change your whole life," Hadrian told them with glee. They talked quietly for a bit longer until Hadrian was finished with his lunch and pulled out a book as well as a paper and pen.
"Homework during lunch?" Emmett asked looking down at the book. "That isn't a school book."
"No, it isn't. Why do you have that here, Pup?" Remus said from over his shoulder. Hadrian jumped and looked up guiltily. His Uncle often did rounds during lunch.
"Well, I didn't want to get behind on my schoolwork," Hadrian said guiltily. "Don't tell my Dad." Hadrian pleads with his uncle. Remus chuckled and ruffled his hair.
"I won't tell him as long as you promise not to pull it out around anyone else other than the ones currently at the table," Remus countered. Hadrian grinned up at him.
"I promise, I won't Uncle Mooney. I only pulled it out because I was with them," Hadrian insisted. "Oh, do you think it would be ok if we had a dinner this weekend and invited them all to the house?" Remus chuckled.
"That would be good. In fact, I bet your dads insist on it after you tell them about them," Remus teased.
"So excited to see their faces," Hadrian said with a grin. Then he smirked up at his uncle. "Don't tell Uncle Siri. I want to see his face when a family of Vampires show up for dinner."
"I don't know, Pup," Remus made a face.
"Please, Uncle Mooney. What if I promise not to prank him for a week," Hadrian asked. Remus stopped to think about it and Hadrian heard a chuckle from one of the vampires at the table.
"A month," Remus countered. Hadrian huffed.
"Two weeks, and you can't let him prank me either," Hadrian stated.
"A month and I won't let him prank you either," Remus stuck to his original counter. Hadrian huffed and crossed his arms. He heard another stifled snicker from Emmett.
"That is not how you negotiate. Come on Uncle Mooney," Hadrian pouted. Remus just shook his head.
"Take it or leave it, Pup. I will keep your Vampires a secret from Sirius until dinner and you will agree to no pranks for a month," Remus insisted and grinned when Hadrian pouted up at him. He flicked Hadrian on the nose. "That was far more adorable and effective when you were six."
"Fine, no pranks for a month. But you can't let him prank me either. And you don't tell him about the Vampires," Hadrian agreed with a roll of his eyes. "You don't play fair, Uncle Mooney." Remus just chuckled and started to walk away. He heard the big vampire lean over and whisper to his nephew.
"The pout would have worked for me," Emmett said quietly and Remus turned just enough to see his nephew turn pink from his ears to his neck. Now that was adorable. Regulus and Severus were going to lose their minds.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Dad!!" Hadrian called out.
He had not been expecting to see his dad after school. He was planning to go home with Uncle Remus like usual. He grinned even bigger when his Inu were released from the back of the Tahoe. They were so big now that their heads were almost even with Hadrian's shoulders. The students of Forks High ignored them because they were used to them. The Cullens were not, however and watched the giant beasts bounding toward them wearily.
"Hi, beauties. Did you miss me?" Hadrian said when he was tackled to the ground by the Inu. Emmett reached down and lifted him up. The Inu sniffed him and then dismissed him as a non-threat. Hadrian laughed and brushed himself off. "Thanks, Emmett."
"Those are the biggest dogs I have ever seen," Alice exclaimed excitedly. She was currently hugging Kimi and smiling brightly as the Inu licked her hand. Hadrian grinned as Toga butted Emmett for attention. The large teen grinned and gave in to pet the Inu.
"They aren't dogs. These are Inu. They are magical guardians that originated in Japan. I have had them since I was eleven," Hadrian explained. By this time his dad had made his way up to them. He watched the teens warily for a moment or two.
"Hadrian," Regulus called. Hadrian looked up and grinned. "Introduce me." Hadrian nodded.
"Dad, you remember Charlie told us that a new couple and their adopted children had moved to town?" Hadrian asked. Regulus nodded. "These are the Cullens. This is Emmett, Rosalie, Jasper, Edward, and Alice. Guys this is my Dad, Regulus." Edward stepped forward with his hand outstretched.
"It is nice to meet you Mr. Black-Prince," Edward said politely. Regulus smiled and took the offered hand. He looked at Hadrian exasperated.
"It is nice to meet you all as well. Regulus is fine," He addressed the teenage vampires. Then he turned to Hadrian. "Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to realize they were vampires?"
"About five minutes after seeing them this morning," Hadrian said with pride. Regulus chuckled.
"And how long before you walked right up without any thought about whether they were dangerous or not?" Regulus asked next. Hadrian blushed and playfully scowled at the others when they laughed.
"He was introducing himself to us about six or seven minutes after we pulled into the parking lot," Alice said with a grin. Regulus just chuckled and ruffled Hadrian's hair.
"Seriously, you would think between your uncle being an Auror and Severus being your father, you would be a little more cautious," Regulus teased. Hadrian just shrugged.
"They are attending Muggle school in Forks, Washington. And their eyes are golden. That doesn't exactly scream threat. Plus, apparently, we don't smell tasty," Hadrian insisted.
"Has my impulsive son at least been polite enough to invite you to the house?" Regulus asked. Hadrian huffed and then grinned.
"Actually, I did. I invited them and their parents to the house for dinner this weekend," Hadrian informed his father. Regulus laughed.
"Well, they won't be having dinner with us. They don't eat My Love, but we can get together and get to know each other. It will be nice to have another family in town that we can be our true selves with," Regulus agreed.
"We will let our parents know. They will be happy to meet you all as well. It gets lonely hiding all of the time. It was really wonderful to meet your son today," Rosalie stated politely. Hadrian smiled up at her.
"It was really nice for me too. I have never had anyone at school that I could be myself with," Hadrian told her and the others. "Oh, why are you here, Dad? I thought I was going home with Uncle Mooney."
"I meal prepped for Charlie. I figured you would want to go with me when I stopped over to drop it off. We can tidy up around the house at the same time. We both know that his house is probably a mess after us being gone all summer. He is used to you coming by at least once a week to tidy up for him," Regulus answered. Hadrian smiled brightly.
"You're probably right. I know Jake was supposed to check on him while we were gone but he is just as hopeless as Charlie when it comes to keeping a house clean," Hadrian agreed.
He turned to the others and held out a piece of paper he had in his pocket. Alice reached for it, but Emmett plucked it out of his hand quicker. Hadrian laughed.
"My number. Text me sometime. My phone doesn't always work in the house, but I’ll respond when I get it. Technology and Magic don't really like each other."
"Thanks, Hadrian. We will message you, so you have our numbers too. It really was so nice to meet you," Alice said and hugged him tightly.
"It was nice to meet all of you as well. We got to get going so we can take care of Sheriff Swan's house before we head home. Talk to you later or see you tomorrow," Hadrian said and then waved.
Regulus wrapped an arm around his shoulders and kissed him on the head. Hadrian didn't mind the affection. He never would. He opened the back door of the car so that Kimi and Toga could jump in and then climbed into the front with his dad.
"So Vampires, huh?" Regulus asked. Hadrian grinned and nodded.
"It's so exciting," Hadrian answered. Regulus chuckled and started the car. "You get to tell your Papa." Hadrian just laughed and nodded.
"Deal, but we are keeping it a secret from Uncle Siri. Mooney already agreed. I want to see his face when he realizes vampires moved into town," Hadrian informed his dad.
"Deal," Regulus agreed.
This would be hilarious. The two of them went straight to Charlie's house and spent an hour or two cleaning things up and doing a load of his laundry. The yard looked good from Jacob tending to it. By the time they had gotten home Severus was sitting in the living room reading.
"Hey, Papa," Hadrian said and plopped down on the couch next to him. "How was it being back to work after being off all summer?" Hadrian asked. Regulus gave him a look and Hadrian huffed. Severus looked between the two of them curiously.
"It was fine. Kira kept everything to standard and I am not behind on any orders," Severus answered his son. "How was your first day as a sophomore?" Hadrian smiled.
"It was great. I had a really good day. Made some new friends," Hadrian replied cryptically.
"What are you leaving out, Hades?" Severus asked his fidgety son. Regulus laughed and Hadrian shrugged.
"I ... um ... well my new friends. They are not human," Hadrian said hesitantly. Severus gave him a look.
"Are they animals? Are you trying to ask if you can have a new pet?" Severus asked confused. Regulus laughed again and Hadrian glared at him.
"No, Papa not pets or animals. They are teenagers. They just aren't human teenagers. Theyareactuallyvampires," Hadrian said the last part really fast. Severus chuckled and then looked at his still-laughing husband.
"Want to try that again?" Severus asked his son pointedly. What in the world could have happened at school today that had Regulus laughing and Hadrian flustered?
"Fine," Hadrian said finally. "The new kids are Vampires. But not like the normal kind. Remember that book we read about a group of Vampires that were experimented on? The ones that can go out in the sunlight and sparkle?" Severus just leaned his head back and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"You mean to tell me that seven vampires just moved into Forks? And you have made friends with them on the first day without taking the time to observe them and make sure they aren't up to no good?" Severus asked finally.
"Oh, it is better than that," Severus snapped his head up to look at a grinning Remus standing in their living room.
"What do you mean?" Regulus asked. Remus chuckled and gave Hadrian a sly look.
"Your son not only made fast friends with the lot of them, he also fancies the big one, Emmett," Remus told them. Hadrian blushed so brightly, so quickly, Severus was afraid he might pass out.
"I...I do not. Why would you say that?" Hadrian stammered quickly. Regulus looked at him still laughing and Severus just groaned and laid his head back against the couch again. Remus started laughing.
"Oh, Pup. You were so very obvious about it," Remus said with a grin.
"I was not," Hadrian insisted.
"Sure, Pup, whatever you say," Remus placated. Hadrian jumped up from the couch.
"I am going to take a shower and get ready for dinner," Hadrian said quickly and disappeared up the stairs. Remus just laughed and sat down next to Regulus.
"It's the one who pulled him up after the Inu knocked him down, isn't it?" Regulus asked. Remus nodded.
"Yeah, Emmett. He is a blushing mess every time he is around him. It is honestly the most adorable thing I have ever seen," Remus told Hadrian's parents.
"You know I didn't think we would ever get to go through this with him. He has never shown even the slightest interest in anyone before," Regulus said happily. "I don't care if it is with a vampire." Remus laughed and stood up.
"Well, I did my duty as his uncle by embarrassing him about his new crush. I am going to go home now and get supper started for when Sirius gets home," Remus stated and then he left out the front door. Regulus huffed out a laugh and turned to his husband.
"You are being awfully quiet about this. What are your thoughts?" Regulus asked as he moved so he was sitting next to Severus. He knew it wasn't because of the vampires. Severus wasn't the type to have an issue with anyone his son decided to date.
"I miss when Hadrian was younger. When he used to make sure that he was home to greet me from work no matter who was here or what was going on. When he still fit into my lap or could ride on my shoulders. I miss the sound of his tiny feet on the floor or his little baby giggles," Severus said quietly. Regulus looked at his husband in wonder.
"Sev, I know we haven't talked about this, but do you want another child?" Regulus asked curiously. He had always been happy with just Hadrian, but he had been thinking about it recently. They were still young. Severus looked over at him.
"I think I might, Reg. We are in a good place for it, and you are right. We are still young. How do you think Hadrian would feel about us trying for another baby?" Severus questioned.
"Hadrian would be perfectly fine with it," Hadrian said from the stairway. "I think I would make the best big brother." He jumped over the couch and laid himself across both of his Dad's laps. His hair was still dripping wet, and he shook it out and got both of them wet. Regulus laughed and Severus cast a drying charm on his hair.
"Brat," Severus said and Hadrian laughed. He hugged his Papa and then shifted so that he was only in Severus' lap.
"Look, I still fit. I am very small for fifteen remember," Hadrian said while still hugging his Papa. "You could have just said you wanted a cuddle, Papa." Regulus chuckled and Severus just wrapped his arms around his teenage son.
"Yes, you do still fit," Severus agreed. "You really wouldn't mind if we decided to try for a baby?" Hadrian shook his head no and looked both of his dads in the eyes.
"I promise I wouldn't mind. I would love to be a big brother," Hadrian told them honestly. "I actually always wondered why you two didn't have other children. You guys are the best parents and Dad loves being a stay-at-home dad."
"It just didn't feel like the right time, honestly," Regulus said with a shrug. Severus nodded.
"Well, I think it is a great idea," Hadrian said and then he was quiet for a second. "If ... and I mean 'If' I liked Emmett, would it bother you guys because he isn't a Wixen?"
"Have we ever done or said anything that would make you feel that way?" Regulus asked curiously. "My brother married a werewolf, Hadrian."
"I didn't think about that," Hadrian said with a startled laugh. Severus chuckled. "He has always just been Uncle Mooney I guess I just saw his change as him being an animagus like Uncle Siri." Severus ran his fingers through Hadrian's messy hair.
"Son, if dating a vampire is what makes you happy, then we are happy for you. We do want to meet him though. Because Vampire or not he will still get what I have heard the Muggles call a 'shovel talk'," Severus threatened. Hadrian groaned and then laughed.
"Fine, but can you at least wait until I actually know if he likes me back? or asks me out? Don't run him off before I even get to find out if I really like him or if I just think he is nice-looking," Hadrian asked his dads.
"Deal," Severus said, and then Kreacher popped in to let them know that dinner was ready.
They had a pleasant dinner and Hadrian reminded both of his parents that Uncle Sirius didn't know anything about their company being vampires and that they were keeping it a secret for now. Hadrian set himself up in the living room to do magical coursework while his parents played a quiet game of Wizard's chess.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I found my Mate today," Emmett told Carlisle and Esme when they were all home later that evening. Esme smiled brightly and Carlisle congratulated him.
"I knew it," Alice said with a happy smile. Emmett just grinned at her. "You guys are going to love him. I can't See him."
"He is adorable," Rosalie added. Edward nodded.
"He also doesn't smell like something to eat. I can be around him and feel no hunger," Jasper told the two adult vampires.
"And I can't read his mind. He told me I was rude for trying," Edward informed them.
"He sounds peculiar. Who is he?" Carlisle asked.
"His name is Hadrian Prince-Black. Goes by Hades most of the time though," Emmett told them. Carlisle looked thoughtful. He had a pretty good memory, and he had made himself familiar with the files of all of the residence of Forks and their files since moving here.
"I don't have a file on him at the clinic. How long has he lived here?" Carlisle asked.
"His whole life," Emmett answered.
"Carlisle, what do you know about Wixen?" Edward finally asked. The older vamp looked startled.
"I don't know much about them. All I do know came from my time with the Volturi. Why?" Carlisle asked them.
"Are they dangerous?" Esme asked. Carlisle looked thoughtful again and took his time to answer.
"They can be. I know that The Volturi are afraid of them. They had a run-in with a few of them many many years ago and a lot of Vampires died when the Volturi picked a fight. But before that, there was no conflict. The Volturi made it forbidden to speak of them and did what they could to erase them from Vampire memory. They are powerful but not inherently dangerous," Carlisle answered. "Now explain to me why you are asking."
"Hadrian is a wizard," Emmett answered. Carlisle looked at him a bit startled. He hadn't come across a Wixen in a normal human town. They stayed to themselves in their own communities.
"Living in Forks and going to high school?" Carlisle asked him to clarify.
"Yep, his parents didn't want to send him to a magical school. They wanted him to learn how to live like a 'muggle' so that he would be able to survive in either world if he needed to," Edward answered.
"He does all of the magical coursework as well but he does it like a home school situation. He has special permission from their government to learn at home instead of school," Alice added in.
"Is he the only one?" Esme asked.
"His entire family are Wixen. There are seven of them living in town currently. Though, apparently his Uncle is also a werewolf. But not like the ones on the reservation. Hadrian doesn't seem to know anything about them," Alice answered. She had spent the most time getting to know Hadrian throughout the day.
"Does he know that he is your Mate?" Carlisle asked Emmett.
"No, but I think he likes me," Emmett responded.
"Then we should have them over so that our families can get to know each other," Esme said happily. Alice chuckled.
"Hadrian beat you to that. We are going to their home this weekend to do exactly that," Rosalie responded. Carlisle nodded and then looked at them seriously.
"Last question, does he know we are Vampires?" Carlisle asked his adopted children.
"Yep, he clocked us for vampires about five minutes after he saw us this morning," Emmett said with pride. Edward and Jasper laughed and clapped him on the shoulders.
"He has been pining all day," Rosalie said with a grin.
"Of course, he has. He found his Mate. He is allowed some pining," Esme insisted. Then she pulled Emmett into a hug.
"Rose is just jealous that she hasn't found her Mate yet," Emmett said and then dodged when she swiped at him.
"I am not jealous. My time will come," She insisted.
"Oh, Carlisle, I think maybe the best news from today was that Hadrian says his father is a potion master and that he can possibly brew a potion that makes us look older so that we can stay in one place longer," Edward told his father.
"Now that would truly be something," Carlisle replied curiously. Esme nodded.
"I guess now, we just wait for the weekend," Esme said with happiness. It would be nice to have another family in town that they could be themselves around.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"It's almost time," Hadrian said excitedly.
This week had gone both too slowly and too quickly. It was now Saturday and they were waiting for The Cullen family to arrive. Hadrian was now absolutely certain that he had a huge crush on Emmett and not just because he was cute.
"Calm down, Pup. It's just another group of Muggles we have to be careful around," Sirius told him.
He didn't understand why his nephew was so excited. But before Hadrian could answer there was an alert from the wards that let them know two cars had just pulled in. Hadrian was nearly bursting with excitement now. There was a knock at the door and Hadrian threw it open.
"Hey," Hadrian said happily and was promptly pulled into a hug by a small dark-haired girl who seemed just as excited as Hadrian. "Welcome to our home. Please come in."
Each teenager who stepped through the door either hugged Hadrian or ruffled his hair. It was clear they were all fond of him. Then Sirius noticed they were all pale and unnaturally good-looking. But the thing that tipped him off was that all of them had golden eyes. Sirius laughed and then pinched Hadrian who yelped and then punched him in the arm.
"You could have told me they were Vampires," Sirius said and then glared at his husband. Remus had to have known that the five teens in his school were not human, and he hadn't said anything on purpose. Hadrian laughed and just shrugged.
"This was way more fun though," Hadrian said with a grin.
"Cheeky brat. Introduce us then," Sirius grinned. Hadrian just smiled and closed the door behind the last two people.
"This is Alice, Jasper, Edward, Rosalie, and Emmett, " Hadrian introduced them one at a time. Sirius narrowed his eyes when his nephew blushed and the one named Emmett chuckled. Alright, he would have to watch that little development.
"These are their parents Dr. Carlisle Cullen and his wife Esme Cullen." Hadrian had asked about their parents a lot so even though he hadn't met them he knew enough to introduce them.
"Cullens, this is my family. These are my dads, Regulus and Severus Black-Prince and these are my uncles, Remus and Sirius Black," Hadrian finished the introductions.
He let everyone have to opportunity to meet and say hello. Just then an owl came swooping in and landed near Hadrian on a shelf. He took the note and fed it a treat before it flew back off.
"Was that an owl delivering a letter?" Carlisle asked curiously. Hadrian nodded.
"Yes, that is how Wixen communicate. It is very awkward when it happens in town. Which isn't often, we don't usually get owls. Everyone we know knows that we live in a Muggle town. Who is it from, Hadrian?" Regulus asked.
“There are actually two. One is from Draco and the other is from Bill," Hadrian answered looking at the one from Bill curiously. He didn't know why Bill would write to him.
"Good looking, Long-haired, Leather pants, and a dragon tooth earring, Bill?" Sirius asked with a smirk. He almost laughed out loud when the boy Emmett looked a bit unhappy about the description.
"Yeah, wonder why he is writing to me," Hadrian said without thought. Sirius did snicker then and received a smack over the head for it. Hadrian looked up at him and frowned. "Why is that funny?"
"It isn't, your Uncle is a child. Go and put the letters in your room you can answer them later," Regulus answered. He had seen the vampire's reaction as well.
"Bit old for our boy isn't he?" Sirius teased. Remus hit him again. "Ow, stop that."
"You know for a fact that Hadrian and that man are not interested in each other like that. Bill likes girls and Hadrian made it very clear he thought Bill was cool in a big brother sort of way," Remus said pointedly. Mainly for the Vampire's sake. Carlisle and Esme chuckled. They had picked up on what Sirius had been doing.
"Come on out into the yard. We have it spelled so that the rain doesn't get to us back there. We can enjoy being outside and not have to contend with the rain," Regulus offered. "You will have to excuse my brother; he is a toddler in a grown man's body." Hadrian came bounding down the stairs excitedly a few minutes later. He was pulled to the side by Alice as soon as he was in the yard.
"Alright, we aren't at school anymore. Show us some magic," She insisted. Hadrian smiled and nodded.
"Absolutely, this is going to be great," Hadrian said and dropped his wand into his hand from his invisible holster.
"Is that an honest-to-God wand?" Emmett asked. Hadrian nodded.
"Yep, it was custom-made for me. All Wixen use them. Though some of the most powerful can do wandless magic. I am getting pretty good at wordless but not wandless just yet," Hadrian explained. "Oh, let's do a levitation spell first."
The adults watched and talked as Hadrian started with first-year spells and worked his way through the more flashy spells.
"That is quite spectacular," Carlisle said after a bit. "My children adore him. He is all they talk about these days."
"Hadrian has been very excited to have people he can actually talk to about everything, including magic. He had a friend that he grew up with that turned out to be a Wixen as well but she moved to Florida with her mom, and we only see her for about a month out of the year now. It has been quite lonely for him. Meeting your children has been really good for him," Regulus replied.
"Sounds like this has been good for all of them," Esme added. "I am so happy to have other people in town to talk to."
"Hadrian mentioned that you have never been to one of our magical districts. There is one in Seattle where I work. It is mainly for Wixen but I know that if you speak to the goblins at the bank they know of similar districts that cater mainly to creatures. Such as vampires, weres, Veela, and many others," Severus offered. "I am sure that Reg would be happy to take you so that you know how to access it."
"Oh, I would be happy to. We could make a day of it while the kids are in school and shop around," Regulus piped up.
"That sounds lovely. I get so bored sometimes because I do interior decorating and there just aren't that many people in Forks that are interested," Esme answered.
"We can fix that. Wixen are constantly trying to find ways to one-up each other. We can set you up with a few of the older families and then others will follow to stay in style," Regulus insisted. "I know old money. My brother and I are from one of the oldest and most respected magical families in Britain."
"Thank you, that would be lovely," Esme replied. She gasped and put a hand to her mouth. "Goodness is he flying on a broom?" Sirius laughed.
"Oh yeah, that is one cliche that is absolutely true. Hadrian is one of the best flyers we have ever seen. If he had gone to a boarding school he could have played for their school teams," Sirius said wistfully.
"Don't pout. Our daughters are going to try out for Quidditch next year. You can live out your dreams through them," Remus said with a laugh.
"What is quidditch?" Carlisle asked. Sirius and Regulus were happy to explain it to the two vampires.
Alice was the only vampire that Hadrian could convince to take a ride with him. She loved flying with him. Finally, Hadrian sat down with the others just to chat and relax. Emmett leaned over and looked thoughtful.
"So, who are Draco and Bill?" He tried for casual, but Hadrian could see he was fishing for information.
"Draco is my cousin. I met him for the first time this summer. He lives in England and goes to a boarding school in France. He participated in the dueling competition this summer. So did Bill. I met him for the first time this summer as well. He is like twenty-six or something I think. He got first place. I was curious about his job as a curse-breaker. That is probably what he wrote about," Hadrian explained.
"So, not romantically interested like your Uncle implied?" Emmett fished a bit more. Hadrian smiled and shook his head.
"No, not romantically interested," Hadrian assured with a grin. Emmett smiled then and winked at him.
"That's good then," Emmett insisted. Hadrian decided to tease.
"Oh yeah? Afraid you had competition for my affection?" Hadrian asked with a smirk. Emmett leaned closer and Hadrian worked hard not to think about how close Emmett's lips were.
"No, afraid I was going to have to break some poor man's heart when I let him know he didn't stand a chance," Emmett assured him. Hadrian blushed from the top of his head to the bottom of his toes. Hadrian giggled and then slapped a hand over his mouth. Emmett and the others laughed at the sound.
"Maybe a little space between the two of you would be a bit more appropriate," Severus spoke up firmly.
Hadrian jumped and Emmett quickly leaned back. Hadrian glared at Severus who just glared right back. When he was sure that they were going to listen, he turned back to the conversation with the adults. Emmett looked at Hadrian and smiled.
"Your father is a bit terrifying," Emmett stated quietly and the others nodded. They had jumped and they hadn't even been doing anything wrong. Hadrian shrugged.
"I don't see it. Papa is a big softy he spoils me far more than any of the others do," Hadrian insisted. He heard someone snort.
"Yeah, but you aren't trying to date his son," Emmett said almost too quietly for Hadrian to hear. Hadrian smirked.
"And are you?" Hadrian asked innocently.
"Am I what?" Emmett asked absently.
"Trying to date his son," Hadrian asked. Emmett laughed.
"Yeah, I am. Think he will let me?" Emmett asked curiously. Hadrian nodded.
"Though, probably not without some kind of chaperone," Hadrian said as an afterthought. Emmett shrugged.
"I can live with that. I was born in a time when chaperones were normal," Emmett agreed. Hadrian smiled excitedly. He had thought it would be an issue.
"Thank Merlin. Some Wixen can be really old-fashioned and my Dad is from a very old pureblood family. They still do marriage contracts between the older families," Hadrian explained.
"Trust me, Hadrian. I have no issues with old-fashioned or following whatever rules your fathers feel the need to impose upon me so that I can date you. You are worth it," Emmett insisted.
Hadrian grinned like a loon and blushed brightly again. The day went by in a fun and pleasant way. Hadrian watched curiously as Emmett pulled his dads aside to talk to them. He found out afterward that he had been asking for permission to take Hadrian out to a movie and dinner. Emmett had gained both of his dads' approval with that one. Hadrian was so happy.
This year was starting out great and he hoped it stayed that way.
