Chapter 2

It was slow going to get to Atlanta, but Harry Potter wouldn’t complain about it.  He destroyed walking corpses and his sister freed animals so they could survive.  Along the way they picked up a man named Dominic Hawthorne, his two daughters, Elodie and Colette, and their half-brother, Andre.  They were on their way to a safe camp where Michonne, Dominic’s ex and the girl’s mother was, when they met up with survivors of the camp, the three recognized Andre with them.  The boy was given to his sisters, they told them how they all got separated, and the two groups split up going their own ways.  That was about a week before the group from King County found them.  Duane was happy that there were more kids for him to hang out with.  When they arrived on the outskirts of Atlanta the group got out and surveyed the area, the kids staying inside.  Harry and Briar opened their sight and looked into the city.

Harry whistles, “Quite a bit of abominations walking around.”

Briar nods, “And some pockets of living as well.”

Rick, “So what’s the plan?”

Harry taps his mouth in thought, “I don’t think we should all go in.”

Briar shakes her head, “We should all go, I have a feeling that we all need to.”

Morgan nods, “There is safety in numbers.”

Rick, “Plus we all know that the RV is safe, we may meet people that need that safety.”

Harry grins, “All together then.”

Dominic nods, “Let’s rock and roll.”

They get back into the RV and slowly make their way closer to Atlanta.  Briar is giving Harry directions on which way she is sensing living people, when they have to stop because the on ramps going into the city are blocked off.

Rick, “Looks like they tried to keep these things out.”

Harry nods, “Yeah, but it didn’t work.”

Briar takes a breath, “Well looks like we need to remove the barriers, I would like it if the kids stayed in the RV though while we work.”

Dominic, “I’ll stay with them.”

Morgan, “Make that two of us, I’ll keep watch from the roof make sure nothing attacks you all.”

Briar smiles, “Good,” looks at Rick and Harry, “let’s go,” grabs her wand and walks to the door exiting the RV.

Rick snorts, “Bossy little thing, isn’t she?”

Harry grins, “You have no idea how bossy she can be.”

Briar, “I heard that come on you two.”

Rick grins and grabs a couple of his knives, “Yes Ma’am.”

Harry chuckles, grabs his wand, and follows them out.  He uses his magic to seal and protect the RV from intruders.  The three head to the barricade with their companions watching on to make sure no zombies sneak up on them. The Potter twins make quick work of removing the barricade with Rick watching their backs and taking out any undead that come their way. They walk slowly down the street quietly so as not to attract the attention of the walking dead.  The RV barely rolls behind them as they move things out of their way.  They slowly walk their way towards a tank in the middle of the street keeping an eye on the walkers just in case they notice them.  As soon as they make it to the tank gunfire is heard in the distance, and the walkers finally take notice of the group.  Harry boosts Briar onto the tank, where she opens the hatch, a walker stands to attack, but she kills it first pulling the rotting corpse out.  She climbs in followed by Rick while Harry closes the hatch back.  Harry whistles and grins as he takes out abomination after abomination, Thestrals start showing up to clear the mess that is being made up.  Morgan takes out what zombies he can from the top of the RV as they turn their attention to the vacation home.

Glenn Rhee watched in amazement from the roof he was standing on as he saw one man take on a herd of walkers except for a few.  Then came the weird horse-like creatures that started eating the walkers that were killed.  As he watched he remembered the two that were in the tank and he slapped himself and picked up his walkie talkie, he tried every channel until a lilting female English voice was heard over the radio. Glenn began to accuse them of attracting the walkers to themselves and wouldn’t listen to anything he was being told that happened.  He was nice though, told them where he was, and they said as soon as they got out, they would head to him.  So, they waited, and soon Harry was opening the hatch and letting them out, Rick climbing out first, and they both helped Briar out.  Briar told Harry about Glenn, and the group made their way to where he is.

Glenn flags them over to the alley before taking them up on the roof using the fire escape.  They whistle, seeing all of the walking dead surrounding them again.

Glenn, “Wow, that was…amazing, did you fire the gun just to draw them in?”

Harry shakes his head, “That was not us, that came from a distance.  Morgan didn’t fire until the RV was getting surrounded.”

Glenn nods, “Come on then I’ll take you back to where the others I’m with are currently at.”

The three nod with Briar telling him to lead the way.  Harry tells Morgan and the others to follow them.  The four go from rooftop to rooftop all the way to a building across from a mall.  They see a couple of walkers in an alley, but two men in armor come out of the door and take them out, while Glenn leads the other three down and into the store.  They head into where the others are at and a blonde woman points a gun at Rick accusing him of firing the gun off.

Harry looks at her, “It wasn’t him, we heard it as well and got swarmed by them.” Grinning as big as he can, “Besides, I like silent weapons, and we try to save any guns for when they are absolutely necessary.  So kindly take your gun out of my friend’s face it is very impolite.”

Before anyone could say anything else they heard shots being fired from the roof.  Glenn’s group groans and someone moans about a guy named Merle and they run for the stairs.  The Potter twins are the last ones up because they cast spells to reinforce the glass.  They find the stairs and head up catching up with the others.  Once outside they take in the situation with Merle handcuffed to the pipe spewing obscenities at everyone. Briar walks over to him and kneels down placing her hands on Merle’s face.

“He’s overheated, close to heat exhaustion, and higher than a kite,” she states pulling back to rummage through her bag, she pulls out a vial, “this is chamomile, lavender, and other herbs that will calm him down and hopefully knock him out.”

“You ain’t gonna shove no voodoo down my throat witchy woman!”

She grins, “Well you’re a charmer, aren’t you?”

Harry looks at him, “Well you can cooperate and let my sister help you, or we can leave you up here for those abominations, it's your choice.”

Glenn shakes his head, “Just give it to him, I don't want to explain him getting left here to his brother.”

Harry grins and bends down, prying his mouth open to allow Briar to pour the potion into Merle’s mouth, and after about 5 minutes he is out like a rock. Harry and Rick carry him down the stairs, but they still have one problem and that is getting out of there.  Glenn makes sure to get Dale’s tools and tool bag.  The group discusses several plans and after the failed plan of using the sewer, the group ends up with a plan that involves getting a box truck and getting out of Atlanta.  Briar calls their group and lets Morgan and Dominic know to meet them outside the city.   Harry decides to go with Rick and Glenn, because he would be able to protect them as the Master of Death if the zombie blood washes off.  Briar keeps the others together waiting for her twin and their companions to come back.

The trio slowly makes their way to the construction yard to put their plan into action and to the surprise of Glenn and the others that aren’t aware the zombies stayed away from them.  He begins to question the two men when Harry explains to him that they smell like the dead.  That they can’t stand to eat something that smells like this virus or whatever is changing people like this.  Rick gives Harry a look that suggests that he should go ahead and spill the beans since Glenn saw the Thestrals.  Taking a deep breath Harry also tells Glenn about him and his sister as well as the rest of the wizarding world.  Rick tells him about being a squib.  Glenn chuckles letting them know that he is a squib as well.  They make it to the construction yard and get to work setting up the distraction and the moving truck to collect the others.

Briar forces T-Dog into a chair to take care of the wound on his head from getting hit by Merle.  She carefully cleans it, applies a paste to it, and covers it with a bandage.

Jacqui watches as Briar treats her younger cousin, “You are pretty good at what you are doing.”

Briar smiles, “I had to get pretty good, my twin and our friends were all of the time getting hurt.  He is also lucky that he doesn’t need stitches.”

Jacqui nods, “You work like the Army Medics.”

Briar looks at her, “That’s because I am one.”

Andrea looks at her, “Aren’t you a bit young to be an Army Medic?”

Putting the last piece of tape in place Briar looks at them, “Special circumstances, remember the terrorist attacks in England a few years ago, my brother and I were the main targets, so he learned to fight, and I learned to heal.”

Morales, “I remember hearing about that, at least a little bit.”

T-Dog looks at Jacqui and they both look at Briar, “Our cousin Dean Thomas lives in England, and we heard a lot about what went on.”

Briar smiles, “Dean is a great friend,” sticks out her hands to them both, “Briar Rose Potter, pleased to meet you.”

They shake her hands, “I’m Jacqui and this is my younger cousin Theodore, but he prefers T-Dog.”

Briar smiles, “Well any family of Dean’s is a friend of ours.”

Jacqui, “How is Dean, it’s…well we haven’t heard from him in a while.”

Briar, “Last I heard him and some of the others were making their way to an estate that my brother and I have over here.”

T-Dog, “You guys have a home?”

Briar nods, “Yes and it’s safe.  We have picked up some people along the way, they are waiting for us outside the city in our RV, they are following us, but we have to have a distraction to get the zombies away from the store.  So, I had them go ahead and head outside the city.”

Morales, “We have a camp, Merle’s brother is there, he will be grateful that you saved him.”

Briar tilts her head, “You don’t sound grateful.”

Morales, “He is difficult to get along with, racist, bigoted.”

Briar, “How is he with the kids in camp?”

Andrea, “Protective, keeps them in sight, and makes sure they have food.”

Briar nods, “Coping mechanism, I know it’s not an excuse for the way he acts, but I have seen it before.”

T-Dog, “He does watch what he says in front of the kids.”

Briar, “Anyways, you’re all invited to join us, we have plenty of room.”

Jacqui smiles, “Thank you for the offer, where is your estate at?”

“The Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, my father’s family has a farm there, when we first came over to America, we both fell in love with the place.”

Andrea, “I was there once, it is beautiful and peaceful.”

Briar nods, “We needed the peace after everything back home, we obtained dual citizenship when we decided to stay here.”

Andrea, “Why dual?”

Briar, “My brother is a lord by birthright, and he had seats in the government that he took care of until everything went south.”

Andrea nods, “That makes sense.”

T-Dog, “They are sure taking their sweet time getting things going.”

Morales nods, “Too lo…,” he was cut off by a car alarm blaring and the zombies are taking off after it.

T-Dog, “There’s our distraction y’all.”

Briar nods, “Now we just wait for our ride.”

Rick bangs on the door, the group makes their way out, and into the moving truck.  Once they are in, Harry pulls out making his way out of the city.  Briar radios Morgan and the others letting them know about the vehicle that they are in and to follow them once they see them come by.  When they are clear from the city, Harry sends a spell at the sports car Glenn is in and silences it.  Soon the group is making their way past the RV, and it follows them away from Atlanta.
