when the sun and the stars collide
Chapter 1
James POV:
It was a sunny day when two thirteen year old boys ran onto platform 93/4.
“Padfoot, hurry up we will miss the train” I yell, waiting for my best friend. His eyes searched the platform looking for someone.
“Prongs, wait I need to find Reggie” he yells back at me. I walked over to him “Who's Reggie?” I ask Sirius in confusion “Reggie is my little brother” Sirius says proudly, looking around for his little brother
I see a boy who looks like Sirius only with shorter hair and a sharp jawline. He's alone and wearing a black suit. He looks stunning, but that's a boy. I can't think a boy looks stunning right? I mean I'm not attracted to him or anything… am i? No, of course not. I like Lily Evans, not some boy I don't know, I shake the thought out of my head.
Sirius calls this boy over. He doesn't look very friendly but Sirius calls him over nonetheless, he walks over to where we are standing with a scowl on his face.
“Prongs! This is my little brother Reggie” Sirius says excitedly “don't call me Reggie, it's Regulus. Reg-u-lus” Regulus says, glaring at his older brother.
“Regulus Arcturus Black and you are?” he turns to me “James, James Potter” i say smiling
Regulus looks at me “lovely” he commented sarcastically I just smiled, his voice was- it was addictive. Sirius scoffs “come on we’ll miss the train” He drags me and Regulus on the train.
“Reggie you’re sitting with us” Sirius pulls us both into a compartment with Remus Lupin and Peter Petigrew.
“Stop calling me Reggie. Siri.” Regulus mocked his older brother. Sirius rolled his eyes “do not bring up that awful nickname” he said.
Sirius saw Remus sitting in the corner of the compartment, Remus had his face buried in a book, of course he did, he's our moony, Sirius’ jaw dropped in shock, let's just say that Remus changed a lot over the school holidays.
Hi- Moony- this is….. my little brother Reggie” Sirius stuttered, still staring at remus.
“j'espère que tu tombes d'un pont” Regulus retorted, I look confused. ‘What did he say? Was it French? Sirius speaks French so it might be. I have no idea what he said but he sounded ho- wait no.. he's a boy… What's going on? I don't like boys…… No! I like Lily, not Regulus… right? Of course I don't like Regulus, I like Lily,' I thought to myself, Sirius rolls his eyes at his little brother and sits down next to me. Regulus sits across from me, Peter sits on the other side of me and Remus is sitting near the window.
Regulus introduces himself to everyone and we sit down me, Sirius and Peter start planning pranks for the school year while Remus tells us not to do certain things seeing as they can go wrong and Regulus sits across from me as he reads some fancy book, i see him looking up from his book once and a while and he’ll just sit there staring at me, he makes me nervous, is that a good thing? I don't know, I fall silent.
“James! James! are you there?? Earth to James” Sirius calls clapping his hand in front of my face to get my attention I must have zoned out for a minute “oh… hey yea sorry Padfoot i must have zoned out” I say turning to Sirius, “don't worry Prongs anyway what about pouring paint on Snivellus?” Sirius sounds eager.
“Lets-” Remus cuts me off “no you will not do that, alright Sirius?” he says to us, “okay we won't, don't worry Remus” Sirius smiles brightly.
“Good boy” as Remus says this Sirius turns red and gets up he walks out of the compartment red in the face Remus smiles as Sirius walks out “you did not just call my brother good boy.” Regulus says shocked but not showing it.
“I might have” Remus replied “he just looks so cute all flustered” Remus shrugged.
“Ew you did not just say that's about my brother, it’s like you fancy him or something, you don't fancy him do you?” Regulus looked serious as Remus looked away flustered, Regulus gasped in mock shock “You do fancy him, oh my gosh, you fancy my brother”.
“I ... uh- well- I guess this is a good time to tell you I'm bi” Remus said sheepishly.
“I guess this is an amazing time” Regulus said sarcastically “I can't believe you fancy my brother”.
“I- uh- wait what are we talking about?” I say suddenly, Regulus rolls his eyes “gosh you are so dumb”.
“I'm sorry, i got distracted i didn't mean to I'm sorry” I look at my feet, Regulus’ eyes soften “i- no don't be sorry its okay Ja- Potter it's okay Potter” Remus looks at me and then at Regulus, Remus smirks and hums, I go to say something but Sirius walks back looking less flustered “hey Padfoot, you all better now?” Peter teases.
Sirius does his signature smirk “Yes Yes Wormtail I am perfectly fine, oh Prongs, Lily's out there” he sits back down next to me.
“Wait Lily's out there?” I ask him, Sirius hums in response, I see something on Regulus’ face changes but he hides it.
"I’ll talk to her later I’m rather content here”.
“wow. That’s a big word, Potter. Didn’t know you were capable of that” Regulus says sarcastically, I smile “Yep, Remus taught me”, Regulus has a faint smile on his face and he shakes his head fondly.
As the train continues to take us to Hogwarts, me, Sirius and Peter planning pranks for this year, Remus making Sirius flustered and Regulus just sitting there staring at me, halfway through the train ride some people came by our compartment. Apparently they are Reggie’s friends.
They walk in looking for Regulus, “hello, has anyone seen Reggie?” A blonde headed girl said in a dreamy voice “Panda. How are you?“ Regulus says and gets up to hug Pandora, “I'm very well thank you Regulus and yourself” Pandora hugs Regulus back.
After that exchange Evan Rosier whose twin Pandora's brother, Barty Crouch Jr and Dorcas Meadowes Introduce themselves as well and they all decide to stay in our compartment.
As the train gets closer and closer to Hogwarts, me and Barty talk more and more, it’s like he understands me, not that he needs to, there’s nothing wrong with me of course.
