“So what are you saying?”
“I’m saying that we will kiss in front of people eventually and it can’t seem like the first time.”
“You want us to practice kissing each other?”
“No! I don’t want you near me, I really am just stating the truth.”
“....Okay then, kiss me.”
“No you kiss me.”
“Fuck no, it’s you who wanted this”
“I didn’t want anything, and shut up so we can just get this over with.”
This was definitely not how Marlene thought the night would end up when she put on her sneakers to go for a run. She wasn’t even certain on why she had brought up the whole kissing thing, but there is some truth in not kissing your girlfriend being suspicious. Fake-girlfriend to be exact.
The air was quite cold in the dark opening before the small forest next to the empty park. It was an excellent hiding spot, closed away from bypassers but not too far into the woods. At the moment Marlene was leaning against one of the trees while Dorcas was awkwardly standing a few feet away.
“Okay then. Just come here.” Dorcas stated while awkwardly taking a step forward.
Marlene pushed her weight away from the three and the distance between them got smaller and smaller, until they were right in front of each other.
The only thing that could be heard was the girls breathing and crunchy leaves falling onto the ground.
“Are you sure?” She asked with an unsteady voice. Dorcas just answered with a nod.
Both eyes hardly closed, Marlene started to lean forward, not believing what she’s actually about to do and hoping the moment would be over as fast as possible. She feels Dorcas’ last breath reach her face before their lips meet in a short peck, ending not even a second after it started.
As quickly as humanly possible, Dorcas has once again taken two big steps away from Marlene to keep her distance. Both girls were wearing disgusted expressions on their faces.
“Okay, good, that's over. Let's just part ways and hope to never be forced to ever do that again.” Marlene says quickly.
“Yes, never.” Dorcas replies, while staring at her.
“Goodbye then?”
"No." "No, no, no.” Dorcas quickly says, regretting it as soon as the words left her mouth.
“What do you mean no? It’s over, we’ve done it, and we know what to expect if we’re ever forced to do IT again.”
“No one will believe it. We’re supposed to be dating but we can’t kiss properly?”
“We just kissed, and it can’t look that bad the second time..”
“We both look disgusted, and we barely even touched.”
“And?”
There was a break before Dorcas replied,
“No one will believe it.”
“You already said that.”
“I know. But it’s true, and you know it is.”
“Maybe, or they’re all just incredibly stupid.” A few seconds pass, “I really hope they’re stupid”
“Marls, stop joking around, this is serious”
“Well what am I supposed to do?”
“Just, I don't know..” Dorcas says before whispering something so quiet Marlene almost doesn’t hear it. Something that sounds like ‘Fuck I’m going to regret this’..
“Just stand still”
Marlene doesn’t even have time to react before Dorcas is touching her again, but this time with her hands. Pushing her back to the three she stood against before, an annoyed look on her face. Dorcas takes a moment, hesitates and then her hand is on Marlene's neck and their lips are attached to one another for the second time this evening. This time the kiss is different.
