Reggie

"Cruico!"

The words rattled the entire house. I saw Regulus at the top of the stairs, blurred through my tearful eyes. I saw my father stare at me. His face was cold. He didn't crack a smile, nor shed a tear. I saw my mother's brows furrow as I managed to stop myself from screaming in pain.

'Two more days until I go home,' I thought to myself. I think I might've mumbled it to myself as I got up because Reggie gave me a sad look. He didn't like it when we were at Hogwarts, even though we were safe. Apparently I spend too much time with James, Remus and Peter - but Regulus and I aren't even in the same house, so I'm basically unable to talk to him most of the time.

Sorely, my legs carried me up the creaky stairs and into my room. The cobwebs were starting to become a problem again. It's September in about a week, so it's expected for my room to become a bug hotel, but I'll just sneak the spiders into Kreacher's food like I did last year.

The creme, poorly painted and chipped walls hung a singular picture of Remus, Peter, James and I. My ceiling was crumbling and my lungs were being engulfed with dust. I attempted to switch on my light, but the bulb had gone again. Dad hated when I used actual lights, as they are so-called 'muggle nonsense', but I just can't be bothered to do witchcraft to see at night.

Reggie stormed into my room, practically breaking the door from it's hinges. "What the hell have you done, Sirius?"

"Shut up!" I whisper shouted. "Mum will have a go at you if she hears you shouting. And anyway, what do you mean 'what have you done, Sirius'?"

"I mean," Regulus began, "you've literally made mum go insane!"

"How's that my fault? She's been insane before either of us were born?" I stood up and pushed him against the wall. I didn't mean to, I was just trying to get him out of the hallway. Dad can sense an arguement within a matter of seconds.

"Oi? What was that for, you fucking bastard?" Regulus shouted, throwing me into my excuse of a wardrobe.

"Get out or I'll fucking smash your head in mate," I said sternly. We both knew that I wouldn't. He's grown up and I'm not sure who would win in a fight anymore. It was the sentiment of saying that I'd make him have permanent brain damage.

Fueled with rage, I swept up my bags that I hadn't unpacked from last year at Hogwarts and smashed my window. The drop was huge. The breeze was blowing in my face and I was extremely chilly. The lampposts shone on the steets of Islington and highlighted the dog shit on the pavement. Very few people were out by now. I shoved a two day old croissant into my mouth and fell.

I had made it out.

I ran as if my life depended on it, because Kreacher can be a little snitch sometimes. I almost tripped over my own legs multiple times. I had somehow made it out alive after stepping into pot holes. Adrenaline was pumping through my veins. I made it to the train station.

I barged past security and robbed a ticket from a random old lady getting off of the train I needed to get onto. I doubted anybody would have the energy to chase after some random boy that was probably sneaking off to go get drunk with randoms he met yesterday.

I needed to get to the Potters.

I sat myself down onto a disgusting seat. Crumbs covered the uncomfortable velvet-like, patterned material and litter was thrown everywhere. Gum was stuck in every place I could possibly think of. If I were with Reggie we would've been giggling, trying to spot everywhere some chavvy muggle had placed their gum.

I left Regulus.

I left Reggie.

I left my brother.

I left my little brother.

I left my little brother in an abusive home.

There's no chance of him getting out now.

I shoved my head into my hands and sighed. Turning to my left, I stared out of my window, attempting to admire the scenery of Greater London. Flowers and foxes were spalshed with rainwater as the train came to a halt.

Dragging myself off of the train, I saw somebody I recognised.
