Sirius had finally escaped the clutches of Azkaban, where he had been wrongly imprisoned for the murder of his closest friend James and James' wife Lily. Despite being proven innocent, society continued to reject him, almost forcing him back to the place of his birth, where he had endured unspeakable torture at the hands of his own parents. That place was Grimmauld Palace, a wretched abode that Sirius refused to acknowledge as his home, for it embodied pure malevolence.

Returning to that place was an absolute nightmare for Sirius. Each room was a painful reminder of the past, filled with sour memories that he desperately wanted to forget. To make matters worse, he had to endure the company of the tiresome house elf once more. It was a bittersweet experience, evoking both fondness and anguish that he preferred to leave buried in the past.

Sirius's voice reverberated through the empty, neglected house as he shouted, "Kreacher!" The sound bounced off the walls, filling the space with a sense of longing and pain. Kreacher materialized with a pop, his voice croaking, "Yes, Master Black."

Sirius, his face contorted with fury, demanded an explanation for the open door. Kreacher immediately lowered his head, sensing the anger radiating from Sirius. With a scratchy voice, he groaned, "I was simply cleaning it, Master Black."

Sirius's rage intensified as he berated Kreacher for cleaning the room of a traitor who had abandoned them all to join Voldemort. He accused the traitor, regulus, of causing harm and possibly even killing innocent people. Sirius paced back and forth, clutching his head for support, his anger consuming him.

Sirius loathed every inch of this house, but he held a a far deeper rage for regulus room. For regulus had abandoned everything to become a murderer, abandoning Sirius. Burning the once mighty bond they had for one another in his leave.

Kreacher's head shot up, his eyes ablaze with fury as Sirius spoke. "Regulus is not a traitor, nor did he flee, Master Black," he hissed venomously. Sirius was taken aback by the intensity of Kreacher's anger. "You would do well to refrain from speaking ill of him. Without his sacrifices, you would be dead," Kreacher growled with disgust.

“What the hell are you rattling on about, what sacrifices!” He shook the elf, Sirius had always ignored Kreacher with his snarky comments but this was past the point of ignorance. Kreacher just let Sirius manhandle him, it seemed he was pondering on whether to reveal the truth to madman or not.

“Master regulus made me vow to never tell a soul, especially to you. But he didn’t say I couldn’t show you.” Kreacher finally spat out as Sirius let him go.

“I cannot bear to hear you call master regulus such names any longer, It is time you grieve as I did.” Kreacher spoke with a bitter expression, And as he spoke those words Sirius disappeared from the very spot he stood on with a loud pang.

“Kreacher” regulus voice spoke solemnly as he lay in his bed almost lifelessly, staring at the stars stuck to the roof that he and Sirius had put up. “Master regulus.” Kreacher spoke softly as he sat at the end of the bed. The pair had grown fond of eachother over the years, both bound to the same cell that they called home.

“He’s going to kill him” his voice cracked as he fought back tears. “I don’t understand master regulus.” Kreacher questioned as he stare at the disheveled regulus. “Voldemort said he’s going to kill siri” he croaked. Kreacher could only stare in sheer bafflement, he knew Voldemort didn’t take the situation of sirius refusing to become a death eater lightly, but this was far from what he had expected.

Regulus had desperately attempted to keep the matter with Sirius hushed during his time with the death eaters, but his efforts were in vain. The realization that his brother's life was at stake was overwhelming. Regulus had joined the dark side to satisfy Voldemort's thirst for more followers, hoping to shield Sirius from harm. However, he now found himself unable to protect his older brother, just as Sirius had protected him in the past.

Regulus wasted no time in joining forces with Dumbledore, completely disregarding any notion of betraying Voldemort. His fear was not for himself, but for his beloved brother Sirius. Voldemort may have had the power to end Regulus's life, but he vowed to protect Sirius at all costs. To ensure this, he struck a deal with Dumbledore, determined to keep his brother safe.

Regulus had a simple task to complete in order to ensure his brother's safety: retrieve a locket from a cave. Dumbledore had guaranteed his safety, so Regulus could focus on completing the task and finally living a life without fear. He dreamed of reuniting with Sirius and telling him the truth, hoping they could be brothers again and live happily and safely.

Perhaps they could construct a cozy cottage in the muggleworld, a place filled with sunshine and warmth, just as Sirius adored. In this idyllic setting, they would share a room adorned with twinkling stars on the ceiling, banishing any fear of darkness that Sirius may have had. Together, they would cultivate a bountiful vegetable garden in the fields, preparing supper as a team. It would be a tranquil haven, fulfilling all of Regulus' desires for their shared future. With unwavering determination, he vowed to make this dream a reality, longing to witness Sirius' infectious grin once more.

Regulus whispered with a fond smile, "I've found it Kreacher, now all we need to do is get out of here." The safety of his brother was there, and the thought of it comforted him endlessly. However, as he grabbed the locket, the cave growled at them. No, it wasn't the cave, but the monsters that clawed their way up the small island growled at him.

Regulus trembled with terror as the grotesque creatures approached him, their teeth resembling razor blades and their bodies twisted in unnatural ways. Despite Dumbledore's assurances of safety, Regulus found himself on the brink of being mauled to death for the simple act of taking the locket. "Kreacher, we need to leave now!" he screamed, hoping the house-elf would hear his plea and save them from certain doom.

“Master regulus I cannot apparate you out, there’s dark magic surrounding the area so no human can leave!” He scratched out, his hands shaking with fear at the thought of them dying by such things.

it was clear dumbledore never planned for regulus to make it out alive, it was why he insisted Kreacher go with him. But regulus was far too high with adrenaline to care, as long as he kept his end of the deal intact regulus could be at peace with that. Sirius’s life was far more important than his to regulus.

“Get out of here Kreacher! give the locket to dumbeldore and never speak of what has happened here to anyone, Sirius cannot know!” Regulus shouted with despair as he gave the locket to Kreacher with trembling hands. He had thought of a life of freedom with Sirius, but in the end he was never meant to be apart of Sirius’s life.

Kreacher stared at regulus with anguish, if he wasn’t bound to follow his orders he would’ve have gladly died at his side without regret. But he could not. “I’m sorry, siri.” Regulus sobbed to himself as he wrapped his arms around himself to mimic a hug. The house elf could feel the burn of tears in his eyes as he watched the pitiful teen comfort himself at the thought that Sirius was hugging him. It was beyond heartbreaking.

And as the last tear fell from regulus’s eye, so did his life. Swept away to drown in the depths of the muddy water by the thousands of creatures that ripped him limb by limb, his screams muffled as the water invaded his mouth, drowning his lungs with water and the sharp teeth that gnawed on him.

The last thing kreacher saw was a bloody mess of regulus’s carcass floating above the water as the creatures feasted upon it.

Sirius's screams echoed through the air, his agony piercing the silence. He was thrust out of the memory, overwhelmed by an unbearable pain that he had never experienced before. Watching his beloved brother, tears streaming down his face, whispering Sirius's name as he was mercilessly dragged away to be slaughtered, felt like a searing hot rod being forced down his throat. Collapsing to the floor, consumed by tears and anguish, Sirius realized that his brother had never abandoned or betrayed him. In fact, his brother had protected and loved him until the very end, a truth that had been hidden from Sirius's blinded eyes.

Kreacher's bitter whisper only added to Sirius's already overwhelming grief. "I have lived for generations and never witnessed such sacrifice and love that Regulus had for you," he said. Sirius could barely contain his sobs as the weight of his brother's sacrifice hit him once again.

Regulus, Reggie. His beloved brother, was mauled to death ever so cruelly just so he could keep him safe.

Sirius carried the weight of his grief and burden for years, feeling as though it would never end. However, he found solace in fulfilling his brother Regulus' dream of living in a cottage with endless sunshine and bountiful vegetables. He even brought along Kreacher, Regulus's loyal friend, to share in the peaceful home. In the bedroom, there was a picture of Regulus hanging above the bed where he was meant to sleep, under the stars and next to Sirius.
