The fall of the Valkyries
Summary
It’s halloween so it is exactly 42 years since Lily and James died. So i thought it kind to write a story of how exactly the Valkyries in marauders era died (i used Marlene, Dorcas, Lily and Mary). If Voldemort hadn’t existed they would be 63 years old. Lily and James would meet their grandchildren. Mary could have achieved great things. Dorcas and Marlene could have settled down together. So much could have happened. Only they didn’t because they all died before turning 40;)So here is the story:

Dorcas

Dorcas cleaned her bloody dagger. It was late evening and she was about to start getting ready for bed, despite the nightmares.

Everyone was telling her she’d gone insane. Manic. She didn’t care. All she felt was a burning flame for vengence. The only thing she could do was slaughter as many death eaters as she could.

She didn’t give a fuck about the frowns from those order members who didn’t believe in killing them. They deserved death, each and every one.

She killed them at sight. Hunted them down. Sneaked upon them like they did Marlene. Her love. They had hurt her. Taken her from her. She’d seen her dead body. Her entire family propped against that wall.

She’d cried and rocked her body. Clinging to the lifeless body of the person she adored the most.

All concepts of right and wrong disappeared. She had one goal, one mission. End them all. Take revenge on Marlene’s part.

And she doesn’t just swiftly end them with a spell. She does sometimes but mostly she sneaks up from behind and stabs them. Twists the dagger so they gasp from pain. Slice their organs. Pierce her victims hearts.

Enjoys their pain. Her only joy in life. Not happiness, no. Just those few seconds of sanity, vindictive purpose. She marks them all too. Wants them to know she is coming for them. That she will end them one by one just like they tried to do. She left a piece of parchment in they’re hands once she was done.

“/the green widow” it always said. She’d heard people calling her that. Order members and death eaters alike. So why not claim it?

She was teetering on the line of insanity. All she knew was that she needed them all dead. Merlin, she missed her.

She would never forgive her former family. Regulus, Barty and Evan. They weren’t there but she didn’t care. She’d looked past some of their issues at Hogwarts just to fit in somewhere. They felt like home. Her best friends. They had never confirmed that they were death eaters so she’d chosen to ignore it.

Not anymore. She couldn’t kill them. Regulus was dead. Evan too. Only Barty left and he was already halfway there. Insane without Evan. Two of the same coin really they were. They both lost their blond sweethearts and would do anything to bring them back. Anything. Just for that she couldn’t kill one of her oldest and closest friends.

There was a knock on the door. Odd. She wasn’t expecting anyone and really didn’t feel like socialising.

With a weary sigh she approached her door and opened it.

Voldemort was there. His face serpentine with scarlet eyes and cat slit pupils.

She knew she was facing death yet she didn’t feel fear. A crooked smile curved her lips.

She knew this was the end. Knew she’d never leave her house again. But maybe, just maybe could she injure him.

Even if she couldn’t it gave her an odd pleasure that she’d become such a threat that Voldemort himself hunted her down.

She’d soon reunite with her love. The prospect didn’t scare her. Even Voldemort managed to look a little fearful.

She’d only stayed alive to kill more death eaters. It was never the plan to live without Marlene once she was done. If her fate was delivered early? Well, it didn’t change that much. She’d already taken out loads of them.

Every bone in her body wanted to join her lover in death.

Voldemort seemed a bit confused. He probably wasn’t used to someone smiling knowing he was about to kill them. She took a few steps back. He followed.

Her lip curled. She didn’t even feel an ounce of fear. Not as she looked into those shining bright red eyes. Not as Voldemort fired the curse. As her body fell to the ground and she saw no more.
