James groans when he realizes that in order to win the quidditch cup that they need to score at least six goals above Ravenclaw in the final before getting the snitch because mathematically, they’re at a 50-point deficit from the fail of their first match of the season.
James had unfortunately gotten ill before the game because of a fight with some Slytherins and been unable to compete. Although his team is good – he’s got a rigorous training program, even with his alternates – without him, they didn’t push themselves as much. He’d been devastated by the loss.
Especially now that they’re at such a deficit.
“Aw, love, what’s wrong?” Sirius questions as he enters the room and immediately sits himself on James’ bed behind James.
James is on the floor leaning against his bed, so this allows Sirius to rub his shoulders.
“I’m just upset about our deficit, again,” James states. “Our final game is this weekend and I’m just stressed.”
“Don’t worry, Jay, you’ll kick arse as always. You’re literally 13-0 in the games you’ve played in, any game with you in – you win.”
James tilts his head back so he can look up at Sirius, who’s happily rubbing his shoulders. “I’m only one player, you know?”
“And they lost when you weren’t there. Obviously, they need you and you’ll be there this time, so you’ll kick arse,” Sirius says before kissing his forehead.
“It’s a rather large deficit, Si. That’s not easy to overcome.”
“And yet, I’m sure you’ll do it.”
James hums, closing his eyes and enjoying Sirius’ hands on his shoulders for several minutes. He appreciates his boyfriend’s undying support, but he’s still not sure.
“And to give you a special motivation – I will wear my cheerleader uniform and celebrate with you in the locker room,” Sirius offers.
James’ eyes snap open. “You always said that you’d never wear it in public again after the girls and most Slytherins spent weeks commenting on it.”
Sirius flushes. “Yes, well, I wanted you to comment and enjoy not everyone else, especially with the underwear I chose that … well, let’s just say I have made the skirt a bit longer and there shouldn’t be any teasing this time.”
“And you’d really wear it just for me – to help me win?”
Sirius chuckles. “Well, you did say that it was a good luck charm and I … certainly enjoy your interest when I wear it.”
James groans. “What if I don’t win?”
“You will – that’s the deal,” Sirius says, grinning. “I’m only wearing it if you win – so you better win.”
“I will,” James confirms.
“Good.”
