Since all the chairs had been filled some even stood to the sides and behind where all the chairs were set up. Harry recognised many of the people in at tends but there where some he didn’t. It was a somber affair present students of hogwarts had been given the opportunity to pay their respects . The first rows had been reserved for mcgonagales family and the professors of hogwarts. Harry,Ginny ,Ron , Hermione were seated in the next row with
members from the order of the Phoenix and their family. members of the ministry of magic were there as well . Some wore their black morning clothes some choose to wear the colours of gryffindor house. It was a long service the coffin lad on a white plate form her hands were clasped around a photo frame that had a photo of a man .
The harp stop playing and then the minister began to speak he read out her name her place of birth and date of her death.while that was happening Harry let his mind slide into a slide show of memories of minerva one by one they came to the forefront. Soon enough the minister asked if anyone would like to say a few words and that was enough to snap Harry out of his reminiscence .
One by one members of mcgonagall’s family stood up they spoke about how she could both brighten up a room. All of them sparring a quick glance at mcgonagall’s face that looked peaceful they returned to their sets. Oliver wood was the next to walk up and stand next the coffin he spoke of the day he had meet her and then went back to his set
. Hagrid who was barely controlling his crying managed to gain some control by the time he got next to the coffin said “she let me finish my education here at hogwarts .” and walked back to his set .
Others from both the ministry of magic and the order stood up and told they stories about her. When it appeared that no one else was going to go up Harry got up himself and stood by the coffin Harry spoke about the time mcgonagall’ gifted him a nimbus 200 and how she stood up for him to umbridge Harry returned to his sit and Ginny placed a arm around him.
Hermione was next she spoke of her first lesson with mcgonagall and how she later learned that she had been given one of mcgonagall’s rare smiles
She was openly crying now as she went to her set . Ron held her close.
Neville stood up he spoke about how even tho when he wasn’t always the best in the class she never give up on him no matter how frustrating it was. He then went back to his set next to Luna. Then Ron stood up he spoke about the dancing lesson in his fourth year which brought some laughter from those in a tends afterwards he set back down in his set .
Then the coffin was closed some of the mornings went on to the grate hall for the wake. A few stayed with the coffin as it was placed on the thestral pulled hearse . Mcgonagall’s family and Harry, Hermione, Ron , Neville slowly followed behind as the hearse pulled away along the road people of hogmeade lined the street a few minutes later they were at the ceremony in hogmeade .
The coffin was lowered into the plot a marble headstone read Minerva mcgonagall beloved teacher and aunt one by one mcgonagall’s family members throw a handful of soil and then Harry,Ron , Hermione , Neville did the same the group of people headed to the wake .
