It was a gloomy Halloween night, the moon and the stars shone so brightly. Halloween had always been Lily’s favorite holiday, she had forced James to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.
Lily had just set Harry, her child, down, when she heard a knock at the door. James sprang up from his seat, leaving his wand beside him. When He opens the door, Lily hears the words “Trick or treat”, and the words sound like a young girl, it reminds Lily of when she was younger and she would go around her neighborhood with her sister Petunia, and she would bring some of her friends along.
God, she wanted to go back to those days.
Five minutes later, there was another knock on the door, and James Fleamont Potter, being the absolute deer that he is, pounced to the door, his wand, still on the floor. James was so stupid, what if something happened to him?
Lily was about to go to a crying, one-year-old Harry when she heard James call out to her
“Run lily, Take Harry with you, please Lily.”
Lily froze. What happened, who was there? Could it be Voldemort?
“It's him Lils, Take Harry with you, now” James shouts again
Lily runs upstairs and locks the door. Even with the doors locked, she can hear what's going on downstairs, and that? That terrifies her, she hears her husband fight Voldemort. She silently lets tears roll down her cheek, as she holds Harry close to her, to shield him from any possible danger.
“Avada Kedavra.”
Lily had to cover her mouth so that she didn't let out the piercing scream she was holding.
Her husband, James Potter was dead.
The same man whom she had rejected for years
The same man who would get her flowers
The same man who would help her throughout all of the tough things, was gone.
She could hear Voldemort coming for her, so she put Harry down in his crib, and put something against the door, She had used a locking charm, but she was afraid that It would not work.
There's a hand trying to open the door, the hand that is so close to opening the door, so close. Lily shields Harry, as the door gets broken down, and the shelf behind it, collapses.
“Give me the boy and you shall not be harmed” Lily doesn't move
“Give him up, and you dont have to die, Evans, choose wisely.”
Voldemort raises his wand
“Step aside” Lily, still doesn't move, protects Harry with her body
“Avada kedavra”
And that was the last word Lily Evans (potter) had ever spoken.
James Potter had died thinking he had saved Lily. Lily died thinking her son was dead. The world was never whole again.
