:I wrote about Snape being in phantom of the opera costume and Hermione dressing up with Christine's Dress from Masquerade.

Hermione was annoyed. Deeply so. The perfect fall day for her was inside with a book. When she'd agreed to come to her family's annual reunion she had told them that she wasn't planning on doing anything much, considering she'd taken leave from Hogwarts to come.
And yet….her cousins were hosting a huge bonfire costume party outside. She could hear the music and screams from her back end bedroom.
"Hermione, they're roasting marshmallows over the fire," her mother's voice called.
"Mum, I just want to stay inside and read! I will come down for dinner, but I don't want to be there any earlier!"
"To hear their insults," Hermione mumbled. Her mother didn't reply. She knew that Hermione disliekd the family reunions with a passion and it was only their insistence that she'd come this time.
Also… Hermione had absolutely no plans to dress up at the party. The majority of the guests were witches, wizards, vampires….
Ha! Hermione in herself was a witch.
Suddenly, the door to her bedroom opened. "Mum- I told you…" the words died in her throat.
It wasn't her mum who'd stepped inside. It was Severus. He was dressed in a black suit with a cape and a white mask resting on the left side of his face. In his hands, he was holding a very beautiful and familiar dress.
"Severus! What are you doing here?"
"Your parents had told me previously of your cousin's intentions of holding a bonfire costume party. She also mentioned how in the past they'd made fun of your costumes."
She looked down.
He came next to her, presenting her the dress. "I took time off as well to accompany you. It'd be great to meet your family and ….if they mock this dress they'll enquire my wrath."
Hermione smiled. Christine's masquerade dress. She knew for sure her cousins would die of jealousy when they saw it. Especially when they saw Severus. He was looking hauntingly handsome, even if the mask hid half of his face. The hat he wore, which she could swear it was the exact same hat from the play made him extremely attractive.
"I can't believe you got me Christine's dress."
It was so beautiful she was shaking as she put it on.
"I know you loved it when we saw Phantom of the Opera earlier, and my dear, you do have the voice of an angel much like Christine."
Hermione blushed. Few people knew that she sang. Or that Severus did too for that matter.
"And you make one handsome Phantom, Severus. You'd be a great Erik. Although I'm glad you ditched the wig."
"Only if you're with me," was his reply.
She got ready and with his hands in hers went outside towards the party. The fire was shining bright in the twilight light.
"Hermione!" Her mother greeted her while her cousins looked at her and Severus intertwined hands. She was sure to get a lot of questions later, but for now she'd focus on her Phantom whose onyx eyes shined in the fire light.
Later, as they danced around the sea of costumes, it wasn't the bonfire that brought heat to her cheeks, but it was the heat from within, lighted by the man next to her.
Maybe the perfect fall day was in his arms. She could read books another time.
