Hermione was incredibly annoyed. Her new dress had been ruined by red paint from the park's newly painted benches. They really ought to put signs up!
She picked up the back, looking carefully around to see if there was anyone else in the dark alley. Just Severus a few steps ahead. She was going to whisper a cleaning spell when she realised, to her horror, it wasn't paint. It was blood.
"Oh no no no!" she screamed. Her period had come early.
"Hermione?" Severus turned towards her. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing! We just need to get home, now!"
He looked confused. "But you said you wanted to see the fall festival in the park. We're almost there."
"Something else is already here," she mumbled, gesturing to her blood stained dress.
Realisation dawned on him. "Oh."
"Indeed."
"Well, come on then. We can go home, and I'll get you some chocolate-chip cookies!"
