Luna/Harry
Luna gazed up at the magical creatures and did her best to look distracted. It wasn’t difficult, she was often lost in her thoughts over one thing or another.
Tonight, however, she was keenly aware of the indented snow prints that mirrored her walk to the carriages. She waited, the anticipation built as she hoped he might follow her. It wasn’t often they found themselves alone.
When the soft steps stopped a pace or two behind her she reached up and pet the gentle animal on the sunken skin above its nostrils. These were her favorites and he must’ve known she’d take a moment to come out and visit with them.
“Why are you out here alone?” Asked the curious voice.
“I’m not alone anymore, am I?” She didn’t dare to turn. She’d allow him the anonymity of staying unseen. The cold pierced the skin on her face.
“The party is inside.” He coaxed.
“I find them interesting,” she whispered.
“You’re interesting.” He was directly behind her now. He stepped next to her and unfastened the latch on the carriage door.
“Luna Lovegood, shall we go for a ride?”
She took his hand as he helped her up the step and into the charmed carriage. When he swept the fallen snow off her cheek her eyes fluttered shut.
“Harry Potter, I thought you’d never ask.”
