It's Always Been You

Harry couldn't keep his eyes away from the sad beautiful blonde, pining for her from afar. He made the biggest mistake in the history of mistakes that Harry Potter has done thus far. After that kiss they shared at the party he should have known....should have told Ginny he changed his mind....that kiss replaying in his mind daily. Watching her with Riddle was excruciating whether they were dating or not. The jealousy was almost too much. Everything that Ginny did annoyed him now....the way she laughed at nothing...the way she tried to play with his hair...the way he watched her eyes trail to other boys when she thought Harry wasn't looking. It was almost unbearable this morning as he excused himself abruptly, getting far away from her. For just a moment he could breathe but then he saw Rumi and the world felt like it was spinning, his stomach felt like a stampede was running rampant, and his breath was uneven as he watched her walk towards him unaware of his presences.

Rumi couldn't stomach seeing Harry and Ginny together, couldn't stomach her excessive laughter....Harry wasn't that funny..ever. She was walking along the stone corridor when a pair of hands pulled her into an empty classroom. Her eyes meeting those familiar light green eyes behind those black rimmed glasses. Her breath catching in her throat as her heart beats out of her chest. "Harry..." She begins before his lips collide with hers. She drops her books as her hands find their way to the nape of his neck as she pulls him in closer. He deepens the kiss, his hands grabbing her waist. Her mouth parting for him as his tongue meets hers in a delicate dance. Before long their kiss becomes more heated as Harry lifts her up and sets her on a table, Rumi's legs wrapping around his waist as her hands fist his hair. His lips traveling down to leave hot kisses down her neck a small whimper escapes her lips. For a moment Rumi was lost in bliss forgetting reality but laughter outside the classroom snapped her back in as she pushed Harry away from her. "I....I can't...you're with Ginny. This is wrong." She rushes out refusing to look at him, afraid of what she would do again if she looked at those perfect green eyes. "Rumi" He tries to stop her but she moves out of his grasp and out the empty classroom door.

He runs after her surprised at how fast she was as his steps fall in line with hers. "Please talk to me." He pleads with her as she keeps her pace. "Don't you get it? I can't talk to you.....can't stand to see you with her....every time I see you it feels like my heart is breaking all over again." She tells him. It shouldn't be shocking to hear her say that, Harry felt the same way as he watched her and Riddle together. He grabs her arm stopping her in the courtyard as her eyes snap to his. "And you think I can stand seeing you with Riddle?" He questions her. "That's different and you know it." She scoffs. "How. Because I seem to remember we started this plan to make BOTH our exes jealous....the plan worked for both of us. Riddle hasn't left your side since we broke up." Harry snaps as she rolls her eyes. "We didn't break up Harry. There is no such thing when you're faking dating." She retorts. "So why does it feel like a real break up then? Why does it feel like my heart is being ripped out of me every time I think about you....see you....hear your voice. If it's not a real break up then why do I miss you every second of the day? Why are my thoughts always consumed with you? Why do I wish more than anything that it was you and not her?" He insists, he steps closer to her as his hands cup her cheeks looking deeply into those perfect turquoise eyes.

"Harry?" Ginny's voice breaking through their moment as Harry drops his hands. Rumi tries to walk away not wanting any part of whatever this was going to become. Didn't want Ginny's glare on her any longer than needed to be. "Are you kidding me Harry?" The redhead questions as he grabs Rumi's arm again stopping her from leaving. "I broke up with Dean to be with you again and you decide to embarrass me in front of everyone because of her?" She lectures as Rumi looks at the ground. "I'm sorry Ginny I should have never gotten back together with you. It wasn't fair to you and it wasn't fair to Rumi. I don't want to be with you Gin, I'm sorry for doing this so publicly but everything's changed. We aren't the same people we once were....I've fallen in....." he's interrupted as she holds up a hand in disgust. "Please don't finish that sentence. I can't believe I wasted my time with you. Hope she's worth it." She sneers before turning on her heels and leaving the courtyard. Harry takes a deep breath before he returns his gaze back at Rumi. He brings a hand up to her cheek caressing her as her gaze meets his once more.

"I'm sorry it took me so long to realize that it's always been you. That I have fallen deeply, madly, irrevocably in love with you Rumi. You have permanently changed everything I thought I wanted....I think somewhere deep down I've always been in love with you but I was too afraid to ruin what we had....ruin our friendship but then I lost you and nothing else seemed to matter....because all I wanted was you. Please forgive me?" He says as Rumi's lips find his in a tender kiss. As she pulls away she watches his eyes flutter open the corner of his lips tilted into a smile. "I love you" She says barely above a whisper as Harry rest his forehead against hers, his arms wrapping around her waist. "Rumi Blackwell will you do me the honors of being my girlfriend...for real this time?" He asks her, a small chuckle leaving her lips "I thought you would never ask" She says before he pulls her in for another beautiful all consuming kiss. For the first time in Harry's life he felt like he was finally home....she felt like home and that's all the boy who lived has ever wanted. A love that felt like home.
