Do Me The Honors Of Being My Fake Boyfriend

Harry hasn't had the best of luck when it came to love. Things with him and Cho were awkward and quickly fizzled out and when it came to Ginny well that was a complete mess. Having a huge crush on your best mates little sister is against the bro code and even though Harry broke it to date her, it was still riddled with problems. Ginny decided that dating Harry wasn't worth all the headaches including Ron whining about them every chance he got. Harry was crushed but nothing could prepare him for the day she walked into the great hall hand and hand with Dean Thomas. She had moved on and rather fast.

Rumi plops down next to Harry and Hermione during lunch as she lets out a long exaggerated groan before she sets her head down on the table. "Rumi are you okay?" she asks her as she looks between the mess of blonde hair on the table and Harry's concerned gaze. "Just go ahead and bury me six feet under." her voice mumbled from the table that she currently had her face planted on. "Matteo?" Harry questions as he sends a quick glare towards the Slytherin boy across the room. She picks her head up from the table as her hands tuck under her chin holding herself up. "It wasn't enough to break up with me during our magical creatures presentation but now I have Cho telling me she saw him snogging Daphne Greengrass in front of everyone in the courtyard right after class." Hermione reaches a hand across the table to comfort her as Harry stands up clutching his fist. Rumi's eyes widen "Harry please don't worry about it. Seriously. I'll get over it." she pleads with him. He shakes his head agitated. "No Rumi. He shouldn't treat you like that. It's not right." he tells her before he takes off towards the Slytherin group where Matteo sits in the middle, Daphne draped around his side.

"Potter" Matteo smirks as Harry strides up to their table. "You're a real piece of work Riddle" Harry shouts his fist clenching more. "OOOOHHH" Theo and Draco taunt as they laugh. "Rumi's a big girl she knew what she was getting herself into." he tells the angry boy in front of him. "That doesn't give you the right to treat people like that!" Harry turns to Daphne "Don't get comfortable, you're daft if you think he wont dispose of you when he gets tired of you just like he did with Rumi.....just like he's done with every girl he 'dates'" he uses finger quotes when he says dates. Daphne's smirk drops as she squirms a little in her seat. Harry didn't bother to stay around them any longer. He said his what he needed to, even if they chose to be ignorant.

He goes back to his friends, Ron had joined them as he was sitting next to Rumi trying to comfort her. "Harry..." she says with tears in her eyes. He waved her off telling her not to worry about it. Hermione and Ron left together after they finished up the rest of their meal, leaving Harry and Rumi to themselves. She catches Harry staring painfully at Ginny and Dean giggling at the end of the table. She clears her throat gaining his attention. "I'm sorry about Ginny.....she's an idiot to let you go." Harry gives her a small smile. "For what it's worth Matteo is a bigger idiot." he tells her. She looks over her shoulder glancing quickly over to Matteo and Daphne. She lets out a small sigh before returning her attention to Harry. "I wish I could give him a taste of his own medicine. Make him feel even an ounce of what he's made me feel." she tells him as Harry nods his head. "Maybe then she would want me back." they both look at each other the same thought running through their minds.

"It's a silly thought....right?" She questions him. "Silly. Yes it's definitely silly." he answers her both of them looking at their exes. "I'm not your type...it wouldn't be believable." she says, it felt like there was a vice grip on her heart as she watched Daphne lean in to kiss Matteo. Harry's eyes trail over to her. He's always found her to be quite possibly one of the most beautiful girls at Hogwarts. It wasn't surprising to him when she caught the eye of Matteo Riddle. Rumi was like a magnet, there was this magical pull towards her making you want to always be around her. She was like pure sunshine and it was hard for anyone to not want to bathe in her light. "I don't think it would be that unbelievable" he states as her turquoise eyes snap over to meet his light green ones. "Are we crazy? Fake dating to make our exes jealous?" she whispers. "Probably" he smiles. The corners of her lips tilt into a grin "Harry Potter will you do me the honors of being my fake boyfriend?" she asks him her voice low so no one can hear them. "I thought you would never ask" he teases as they both laugh.

They walk together to Potions class as they go over small details. "We should probably go on a date first. Make it more believable when we tell others we are dating." He tells her as she agrees. "Should we tell Ron and Hermione or...." she trails off. "I think it should stay between the two of us. Less messy. We want it to look believable right?" He smiles. They take their seats together in class as they spend the rest of the time passing notes, both of them grinning which caught the attention of a few people. When class had ended Harry stood up stopping Rumi from leaving, she gave him a confused look as he tried to muster up his courage. The thing about asking a girl out, even if it was fake it still had Harry tongue tied. "Rumi....I was wondering....well I thought maybe you would like to go on a date with me tomorrow night?" as soon as the words left his lips, hushed whispers filled the room as everyone watched. "I would love to Harry" she smiled giving him a quick hug. Harry felt the blush creep up his cheeks as the both of them walked out of class awkwardly. It didn't take long for the awkwardness to fade as Rumi told him a joke that made him feel at ease. Harry knew faking dating Rumi wouldn't be too difficult, in fact he was worried that it might be too easy.
