Date?
I walk into Kain's home, spotting the twins and smile over at them. It took time for Ichiru to stop fearing me, but thankfully he relaxed. He's not like Zero is to me, but I've been working towards getting our relationship there. He's the weaker of the twins, thanks to the curse. The last think I need to do is make him feel left out or behind, once more.
"Ge." Zero nods to me, not pausing in stirring the pot he's currently cooking.
I smile over at him, walking to the table Ichiru is currently sitting at. "Ichiru." I say fondly, ruffling his hair.
He ducks down, flushing. "Had... Ge." He nods with a small smile.
I hum, sitting down. "Hello, children." I greet with cheer.
"We're not kids." Zero grumbles.
I give him a fond look, even as he's turned away towards the stove. "Of course, Zero." I placate.
Ichiru chuckles and I grin over at him. "Tell me, how's your classes? Are you enjoying the school environment?" I ask hopefully. He's been here for a few months, and I've been trying to not pester him, knowing he's had many changes recently, the last thing he needs is someone he was scared off questioning him every day.
He hums, nodding. "Yeah. I even..." He clears his throat. "Made a few friends." He finishes on a mumble.
I cheer, beyond happy for him. His wide pleading eyes dart for Zero, who only grins at him as I reach, pulling him into my arms. I ruffle his hair, not commenting on how he snuggles closer into my embrace. "That's brilliant, Ichiru!" I smile into his hair.
He hums, nodding, but doesn't pull away so I continue holding him, beginning to run my fingers through his long ponytail.
Kain gets home, walking in and cheering. "You made dinner?! Oh, my beloved son!" Kain rushes for Zero, who dodges, causing Kain to hug the cabinets. Hard.
I snort when he is begging crying, walking over to Ichiru and myself. "Can I have a hug from you?" He pleads.
I chuckle, nodding. "Always, Kain."
He beams before he's squeezing us into his arms. Ichiru groans and I laugh. Zero shoots Ichiru a look of 'see?' before turning back to the stove.
He finishes up, Kain sitting down, and we all begin eating, catching up. "Where's Yuki?" I ask, taking another bite.
"She's with her friend. They're having a 'girls' night.'" Zero rolls his eyes.
I chuckle, nodding. "It's good to see her making more friends."
Kain nods excitedly and the evening passes with all of us enjoying out time together.
When I wave goodbye, I shut the door behind me, walking out into the quiet night. Having no classes, means having free time. Deciding on going into town for a chocolate, I begin walking.
I make my way to the fountain, before pausing. I could ask Kaname to come with me... I turn to make my way to the night dorms, looking that way, before pausing and shaking my head. No, he probably wants to spend his free time with his friends. I turn back around, heading to the gate once more, unaware of the red eyes watching me from the window.
When I begin walking down the road, towards the town, my instincts flair. I turn quickly, looking up into Kaname's eyes, unaware my own are glowing bright green. I untense, relaxing before sighing. "Kaname." I whine.
He chuckles, before he's reaching out, his hand landing on my head gently. I hum, leaning into it. "Mind if I join you?" He asks quietly.
I nod, opening my eyes to smile up at him. "Of course." I avert my eyes. "I was going to ask you, but I figured you were busy." I rub the back of my neck sheepishly.
Kaname hums, the sound having my eyes going back to his. "Hadrian, you have an open invitation for a reason." He chides gently.
I sigh, nodding. "I'm not used too..." I wave my hand, sagging. "I'm sorry. I'll come ask next time. Promise!" I look up to him sincerely.
He smiles down at me, nodding before holding an arm out. My smile brightest and I wrap my arms around it as I turn, beginning to walk with him towards the village once more, enjoying the warmth of his body keeping the chill of the night away.
"Did you need something from town, or just wandering?" Kanama asks, looking down to me.
I lean my head against his arm, looking up to him with a grin. "I wanted chocolate."
He huffs with a fond smile. "A specific kind?" He asks.
I nod quickly, squeezing his arm in my excitement. "Hot."
He's confused before understanding dawns. "The drink. Yes." He nods to himself.
I hum, closing my eyes with a smile. "Yes. And now I'm not going to be drinking it alone." I pause, looking back up to his soft eyes. "Will you drink some too?" I ask hopefully.
He chuckles, pulling me closer when I shiver. "Hm. I will." He nods, eyeing me before moving to take off his jacket. I shake my head, not releasing his arm. "I'm okay." He gives a disbelieving stare before I perk up, looking forwards. "Look! We're here." I cheer, ignoring his sigh of exasperation.
We walk inside, sitting at the booth near the back, where it's quiet and semi-dark with its dull lighting.
The boy comes to get our order, and when he walks away, Kaname moves.
My eyes widen when he slides into my side of the booth, boxing me in. I don't even think about feeling fear at my situation. The only things that briefly crosses my mind is that I'm once more fully protected. I smile up at Kaname, laughing. "My knight." I tease.
He rests his cheek on his hand, angling his body towards me and making me feel his full undivided attention. It's a heady feeling. He hums. "I've always believed I was more of a King." He says imploringly.
I hum, tilting my head, still looking into his burgundy eyes. "But isn't the Queen the strongest on the board?" I ask.
He nods, his eyes not leaving mine as he speaks meaningfully. "It is indeed. Regardless of the Queens strength, their King will always protect them."
"Oh!" I nod, his meaning flying right over my head. I don't see him covering a laugh. "I've not played in a very, very long time. Even when I did, I was horrible. Strategy? Not my forte." I grimace.
Kaname hums. "Maybe you just haven't had the right teacher."
I grin up at him. "I haven't been a student in a... hm... a century?" I nod. "Yes." I look back to him, excited.
The boy comes by with our drinks, unphased at our new seating arrangement, placing them down on the table. I reach for it in excitement before Kaname is grabbing my hand. I look back up to him, seeing his soft eyes. "It's hot, Hadrian." He smiles down at me.
"Oh." I whisper, flushing in embarrassment. I turn my face into his arm to hide, feeling his body shake with his suppressed laughter.
"I would love to teach you how to place chess." He murmurs above my head.
I look back up to him quickly. "Really?"
He smiles, reaching up to grab a piece of my hair, rubbing it between his fingers. "Yes. You can come by when you're free."
I nod quickly, before he's releasing my hand, giving me the okay. I perk up, reaching for my drink and sipping at it. It's so good, and I moan, unaware of the dark heated look coming from the man next to me. "Is it good?" Kaname asks, his voice a little deeper.
I nod happily. "Very!" I smile over at him. "Thank you for coming with me!"
He takes a deep breath before nodding. "You only need to ask. I enjoy your company."
I nod shyly and we begin drinking, talking about different topics between us.
"...and the full moon is next week so I'll have to have a substitute as it's not on the weekend this month." I sigh. "I hope the kids are okay with whoever it is." I worry.
Kaname hums. "I'm sure. And this about... Teddy?" He asks hesitantly, not knowing if it's okay to ask about.
I smile down at my cup. "Teddy doesn't mind if others know, he just didn't want to cause problems by being in the day class." I take another sip. "Yes, he's a werewolf." Kaname sucks in a breath, and I grin over at him. "Yes." I nod. "Now, he's under complete control during every day of the month, except on the night of the full moon, when he shifts into... well, a wolf." I chuckle at Kaname's wide eyes. "When he's a wolf, he's no longer Teddy, he's..." I tilt my head, thinking. "Well, a wolf. Granted, Teddy is still there, but his wolf has the reigns. Whereas every other day of the month Teddy is in charge with his wolf being in the backseat."
Kaname hums. "Is it difficult for him?" He asks, and the concern is heartwarming.
I smile, shaking my head. "Not anymore. In the beginning, it was very painful for him. I was able to come up with a few remedies to ensure it's a swift change."
"And you? You're safe during this?" He asks quietly.
I nod. "I am. Granted, at first, I wasn't at all." I grimace. "His wolf was brand new, and after they first shift, they're brand new to the world. Scared. So, they attack anything and everyone." I sigh. "It was horrible having to lock him up, but we had left the wizarding world and being surrounded by humans... there was no other way."
Kaname brings a hand to my hair, beginning to run a hand through the strands and I lean into him, closing my eyes with a sigh. "You did well." He whispers. "You worked with what you had, and now he's happy and healthy with a... safe, wolf?" He finishes a bit hesitantly.
I nod into him. "Yeah. The only thing was worried about now is how his wolf would react to vampires." I sigh, relaxing when he rests his arm around me, pulling me into his side. "Werewolves and vampires back then were like vampires and the hunters now."
"I see." Kaname nods.
I hum. "But the vampires now are different." I sigh again. "Zero has been wanting to be the test subject, but every time we get close to testing it, Teddy and I faulter." I grab onto Kaname's jacket when he tightens his arm around me in comfort, pulling me into his chest. "His wolf is fast. And their bites used to be deadly to a Vampire." I finish with worry. "There's so many around us now, and he's always scared. He's become friends with so many, and Zero is his brother. I want to help him, tell him there's nothing to worry about... but I honestly don't know." My eyes water in my worry, and Kaname doesn't stop running his hand through my hair.
"Shh. Shh. It's okay." Kaname sooths gently, his mouth pressed into my hair.
I nuzzle into his chest, calming with his aid before taking a deep breath. "Sorry. I didn't mean too..." I trail off, sighing.
"That's that I'm here for, Hadrian. I'll take any and all of your worries and problems and fix them to the best of my ability." He murmurs softly.
I huff into his chest, moving to rest my cheek against him. "That wouldn't be fair. I would never take advantage of you." I mumble.
He hums, squeezing me once more. "I know, but if it's you, I'd enjoy being used."
I flush at his wording, thinking it was a mistake in his wording. He chuckles, meaning it before he's speaking once more. "I'll come with you this week and see how he reacts to me."
I tense, attempting to pull away, but he doesn't allow it. "Absolutely not!" I bark out.
"Hadrian." Kaname warns.
I don't budge, pushing at him until I'm able to look up at him. "Did you not hear anything I just said?" I glare.
He stares me down, and I plan on not faltering... this is serious. His serious gaze on me is... too much. I look away with a glare towards the table. He hums, pulling me back into his arms. His mouth brushes against my ear, and I shiver. "I'm Kuran Kaname. I promise you nothing will happen to either of us. I'm the strongest vampire to exist and with my help Teddy can relax." He whispers before resting his forehead in my neck.
I sigh, sagging into him. I wrap my arms around his chest, nodding into his chest. "Promise you'll be safe?" I whisper worriedly.
"You have my word." He vows.
I smile into him before he's pulling his face up and I look up at him with a scowl. "Don't think you'll always get your way." I warn.
He chuckles, nodding and patting my head. "Of course not, Hadiran." He placates.
I hum in pleasure at the confirmation, not noticing the placating for what it was.
We stand from the booth, making our way outside and before I can stop him, he's already taken his jacket off and wrapped it around me. His arm goes to my waist, pulling me into his side, and I hum in pleasure at the warmth. "Thank you." I whisper happily, a little shy.
He hums and I look up to see him smiling down at me. "Always." His eyes hold something I don't understand as he stares down at me, before he's leading us back to the school.
I rest my head into his side, smiling the whole way home.
