Chapter 1 - Hospital wing chat
"Harry?" I heard a whisper. As I slowly stirred awake I could smell the familiar scent of the infirmary, feel someone’s hand in my hair and hear their soft whispers. Before long I could recognise that voice as my boyfriend Draco's.
'Why am I in the infirmary' I thought to myself, trying to gain full consciousness to ask Draco, he was still right by my side, trying to wake me up.
It felt like hours that I was trapped in between two states of consciousness, as my eyes finally started to flutter open the light hurt causing me to blink rapidly.
"Aahh sssss" I said as more light filled the room, my noise in the silence of the room was shocking but I quickly heard a voice, my favourite voice.
"Harry, Madame Pomfrey he's waking up,"
"Draco?" I questioned knowing he was there, my voiced sound very horse and quite.
"I'm right here babe," he said and squeezed my hand, while the other rubbed through my hair and I sunk into his touch.
"Harry," came Madam Pomfrey's voice along with the sound of the curtains parting and falling back together.
"Poppy," I greeted her, I never really understood the reason she allowed first name bases, probably because I am in the infirmary a lot.
"Harry dear, now you're awake I have to run some diagnosis spells on you, is that okay?" When she saw me nod and shift position for her to do so she got started. It doesn't take long, one thing I loved finding out in comparison with muggle diagnosis which takes forever.
While she was running the test I just stared at the roof trying to work out what the hell got me in the infirmary this time.
"Right well Harry, it looks to me that you have made a full recovery which is lovely, your legs may still grow slightly but apart from that everything is back to its normal size.
'Ah okay so I had some kind of accident in a class, that makes more sense seeing as Quidditch hasn't started yet' I thought looking back over at Draco and Madam Pomfrey with a confused look.
"What do you mean everything has grown back to its correct size," I asked.
"There was an accident while you where in detention with professor Snape," Poppy replied "Mr Malfoy can explain more as I need to inform professor McGonagall of your current state," Poppy said, rubbed one of my legs and then left, leaving Draco and I alone.
"Are my friends around?" I asked my boyfriend, if they weren't then I could really use a hug.
"No they are in class right now but they were here before," Draco said trying to hide a slim frown.
"Well then come here," I patted the bed as I moved over, "Join my ranks," I said as Draco hopped up next to me, laughed slightly and snuggled in close.
After a long amount of silence, way more than I can usually deal with, and a lot of smelling later I had so many questions, so I tapped Draco on the thigh and he looked up at me.
"Why am I here Draco?" I felt so small asking, I hated not knowing what was wrong with me or why I was in a different spot from my dorm. Though having Draco here did make a huge difference.
Draco took a deep breath in and out, I knew this would be a long talk now, maybe even a serious one.
"How much do you remember Harry?" Draco was staring right into my eyes.
"Waking up today, before that I-" I tried to think back to yesterday or last night, something but nothing was there it was all black and blank, "Honestly, it's all black back there, it's like my life didn't exist before today,"
Draco hugged me close, "I think I remember Granger saying Weasley experience something similar, everything from before today should come back in the next few days," Draco said and grabbed my face and pulled me into a much needed kiss.
We pulled apart slowly and rested our foreheads together, ears listening for any unwanted ears. When there were none Draco started to talk.
"Harry, what I am about to tell you may alarm you but I need you to be patient and listen to me?" Before coming back in for a quick kiss, Merlin I loved this man.
"I'll try but you know I like to ask questions," I said trying to get another laugh out of Draco. It worked! His laugh is so nice to hear.
"You... I really just need you to try, this will be just as hard for you to hear as it will be for me to explain," Draco started to move away from me and I hated it! I let out a small whine at the loss of touch and Draco looked back with sadden eyes to but still moved into the armchair next to my hospital bed.
