First Year- 'Regulus'

“What?” I ask.
“Regulus” Lyra says…”that’s my name”
“What?” I ask again,
“My new name is Regulus”
“Why?”
“I don’t know it just feels right…”
“I like it, its very you” I say, Sirius nods
“Reg” Sirius says, “or would it be Redge? I mean if we were saying it the French was it would be Redge, but Reg makes more sense ooooo Reggie”
“You are not calling me Reggie” Regulus replies, a scorn on his face.
“Oh now I have to call you that” Sirius says, ruffling his hair.
“I should cut my hair”
Now it was Sirius’ turn to be surprised, “Mother and Father will find out if you do that”
“I won’t cut it all off…maybe just to my shoulders” Regulus replied, Sirius just said that they would still get mad.
“Then I’ll cut mine too, if they are going to be mad at Regulus, they should be mad at me too”.

And that’s why I find myself standing in the girl’s bathrooms with Regulus, his hair was now up to his shoulders, looking short and choppy, much more masculine, while mine was a bit longer than his, reaching the top of my shoulder blade, I’ll admit the cut wasn’t the most even, but it was good enough for it to not be noticeable.
I had come to the terms that I had 2 brothers now, which kind of sucked since boys are gross. But I’m happy for him, I know that he’ll be happier now too since he’s discovered who he really is. I wonder if they’ll change his name in the school system, Andy said that they have done it in the past with other students without their parents knowing so I hope they’ll do the same for him.

Later that night I was in the Gryffindor common room reading my transfiguration textbook ‘A beginners guide to transfiguration’, when Lily Evans and another second year Gryffindor girl came into the common room. The other girl had blonde bleached hair and her darker roots were showing but somehow, they looked amazing on her, her tie was tied messily and loose and her shirt was crinkled, instead of the skirt that most the girls wear she was wearing the black trousers. It was strange seeing her with Lily as the redhead wore the proper uniform with neat hair, and a perfectly straight tie.
The blonde girl walked up to me, “Oi you’re Sirius’ sister, right?” I nodded, “Alright Baby Black, you seen him?”
“I have a name you know” I said, not looking up from my book, “Its Delphini”
“What is with your family and weird ass names?” Lily nudged her in the side, “Kidding, I’m Marlene McKinnon, now Baby Black you seen your brother?”
“Probably in his dorm, why do you need him?”
“It’s not him I need, its James and wherever Sirius is, James is there too. Anyways James owes me money and I want to buy sweets so yeah. Thanks” Marlene and Lily walked away, probably going to find someone who could go up to the boys’ dorms so they could get James and Sirius.
The castle was enchanted so only girls could go to the girls’ side and only boys could go to the boys’ side, that’s probably why Regulus couldn’t go into the girls’ dorms. Anyway I knew that there was a way around it, I had seen Professors and Prefects doing it. They held their wands up to one of the steps and muttered a spell that I had yet to figure out and then the stairs would freeze, letting them up. Perhaps it was a time freeze spell, or something similar to a body bind but for objects, or maybe they made a whole new spell for it. I wanted to research it more but I knew I wouldn’t have time because my classes start tomorrow.
