Chapter 2

Harry arrives at Gringotts and is immediately rushed into Ragnok's office by one of the many teller goblins. Ragnok greets him, "Ah, welcome Heir Black. I've been expecting you."

Harry, confused, asked, "Heir Black? What do you mean?"

Ragnok proceeds to explain, "you are the heir to the Black family. This designation comes from your godfather, Sirius Black, who named you as his heir. This inheritance is legitimate due to your familial connection. Your grandmother on your father's side was related to the last Lord Black, Arcturus Black.."

Ragnok, with a mix of surprise and concern, responds, "Has no one told you about your family history? It is rather important for an up-and-coming lord to know such things."

Harry sighs and explains, "Well, I live with my aunt and uncle, my mum's sister and her husband. They're not the biggest fans of magic, or telling me anything about anything, really."

Ragnok's expression darkens, "Your guardians have done you a great disservice. You are entitled to know your heritage and the responsibilities that come with it. As Heir Black, there are matters we must discuss and actions to take. First, we shall address the issue of your vaults and then delve into the intricacies of your family's legacy."

Feeling the magical wave wash over him as he places the heir ring on his finger, Harry can't help but express his surprise. "Woah, what was that?"

Ragnok, with a knowing smile, explains, "Heir rings are particularly potent magical items designed to protect one's heir from various external dangers, such as poisons and potions. They serve as a safeguard for the next generation, ensuring the continued legacy of the family."

As Harry marvels at the significance of the ring, Ragnok continues, "It's a measure put in place to preserve the bloodline and ensure the safety of the heir. House Black, being an ancient and noble family, has taken great care in implementing such protective enchantments." Harry, still adjusting to the depth of his magical heritage, nods in understanding. The weight of the ring on his finger signifies not just a piece of jewelry but a symbol of responsibility and legacy.
Harry, still absorbing the information, raises an eyebrow and asks, "And the Potter vaults?" He adds an uncertain "s" at the end, unsure if he heard Ragnok correctly since he has only ever been familiar with one vault. Ragnok nods. "Yes, multiple vaults. The main vault you have visited many a time has been your trust vault, a vault your parents made for your schooling, which covers the tuition for Hogwarts and any school supplies you may need." Harry is rather surprised, as there was a lot of money in that vault.

Ragnok continues to speak about the main Potter vault, which holds most of the monetary inheritance he would get from his parents, and a smaller heirloom vault. Once again, Ragnok mentions that Harry can get a detailed list of items in the vault if he wishes.

Harry shakes his head, thinking it unnecessary. He then thinks back to what the goblin had said and what Sirius mentioned about not getting a trial. Absentmindedly, Harry asks, "Is there any way to prove Sirius innocent?" The question slips out, reflecting his growing concern for his godfather's situation.

Ragnok nodded appreciatively, "We have our ways of delving into certain matters. Rest assured, Heir Black, we will look into Sirius Black's situation and see what can be done. Your family has a history of camaraderie with the goblins, and we do not forget our friends."

Harry expressed his gratitude, "Thank you so much, Ragnok. This has been very eye-opening for me, and you've been such a great help in guiding me through all of this."

Ragnok inclined his head, acknowledging Harry's words. "It is our duty to assist the heirs of the families we serve. If there is anything else you need, do not hesitate to ask. Now, let us continue with your magical inheritance."

With that, Ragnok guided Harry through the specifics of his magical inheritance, explaining the unique aspects tied to the Potter family. As they delved into the intricacies of Harry's magical core and lineage, the goblins uncovered information that shed light on his magical potential and abilities.

The goblin ritual, unlike the one in the previous storyline, proceeded smoothly, and Harry felt a surge of magical energy as the goblins probed into his magical core. Once the ritual concluded, Ragnok handed Harry a parchment detailing the results of the examination.

"It seems," Ragnok began, "that your magical core is unblocked, and there are no significant impediments to your magical abilities. However, there are unique aspects related to your inheritance that we've uncovered."

Harry, curious, looked at the parchment. The information detailed various magical aspects, including the distinctive color of his magical core and potential abilities that were either unlocked or blocked.

Ragnok began to elucidate Harry's magical inheritance, revealing that, like his father James Potter, he had inherited aspects of a Phoenix. This bestowed upon him certain extraordinary powers – an immunity to harm from most forms of fire, be it magical or mundane. The only exception would be a rare and exceptionally powerful flame, such as Fiendfyre.

"In addition to your fire resistance, Heir Black," Ragnok explained, "you may find that your tears possess unique healing properties. The magical essence within them can mend wounds and injuries, making them a potent and rare resource."

Harry listened intently, absorbing the information about his newfound abilities. The realization that his magical inheritance was tied to a legendary creature like the Phoenix left him with a sense of awe and responsibility.

Ragnok continued, "Such powers are not common, even among wizards. It sets you apart and emphasizes the significance of your lineage. However, it also comes with challenges and responsibilities, as you'll need to learn how to control and harness these abilities effectively."

Harry nodded, grateful for the guidance. "What about my father? Did he have the same powers?"

"Yes, James Potter also possessed these abilities," Ragnok confirmed. "It's a remarkable legacy within your family, and it extends beyond just magical prowess. The connection between Phoenix heirs often goes deeper, leading to the concept of soulmates."

Harry's curiosity piqued. "Soulmates?"

Ragnok nodded. "Indeed. The powerful magical connection between soulmates often plays a crucial role in unlocking the full potential of these inheritances.”

As Ragnok revealed the need for a soulmate bond, Harry's mind drifted back to the morning conversation he overheard at the Krum household. The mention of soulmates, Viktor's determined tone, and the protective instincts he felt—all flashed vividly in his mind.

A blush crept onto Harry's cheeks as he considered the possibility that Viktor might be the key to unlocking his magical inheritance. The idea of a soulmate, particularly Viktor, made him feel a sense of warmth and safety, emotions he hadn't fully understood until now.

“Your father,” Ragnok continued, unaware of the young heir’s thoughts. ”James Potter shared such a bond with Sirius Black. They may not have fully comprehended it, but their connection was strong and significant."

Harry thought about Sirius and his father, wondering about the nature of their connection. "And what about Sirius? What kind of inheritance did he have?"

Ragnok paused for a moment before responding, "Sirius Black's magical lineage is linked to a creature known as the Thestral. They are magical, winged horses that are only visible to those who have witnessed and understood death. Thestrals are often associated with understanding and acceptance of mortality."

Harry absorbed this information, realizing the profound symbolism behind Sirius's magical inheritance. The idea of Thestrals resonated with Harry, considering the losses and challenges he had faced.

Ragnok continued, "Now, Heir Black, you have the knowledge about your inheritance, both as a Phoenix, Heir, and the potential for a soulmate connection. It's a significant step in understanding your magical legacy."

Harry nodded, grateful for the insights but also feeling a weight of responsibility on his shoulders. "Thank you, Ragnok. I appreciate your guidance. I really do..”

Ragnok paused a moment before speaking again wanting to dispel any questions Harry may ask before he does., "It's crucial to dispel the muggle myth surrounding soulmates. The magical bond doesn't necessarily imply a romantic involvement. It signifies a connection between two individuals, destined to balance each other in various ways. Whether it manifests as deep friendship, companionship, or romantic love depends on the unique dynamics between the soulmates."

Harry absorbed this information, understanding that the concept of soulmates went beyond conventional notions. The idea that a soulmate could play a role in balancing and complementing one's magical abilities and characteristics intrigued him.

"Your father and Sirius were soulmates, it means their connection went beyond mere friendship," Ragnok added. "This bond likely played a significant role in enhancing their magical abilities and supporting each other in times of need."

As Harry contemplated the intricate tapestry of magical inheritance, family legacies, and soulmate connections, he couldn't help but feel a newfound sense of responsibility and curiosity about the secrets hidden within his lineage.

Ragnok, noticing the flickering glamour around Harry, remarked, "Ah, Heir Black, it seems that your inheritance has also altered the way you appear. It appears that your mind has erected quite the defense against looking different, likely due to the guardians you live with—the Dursleys, I believe. A family with a disdain for magic, if I'm not mistaken. I advise you not to return to them until you've gained full control over your glamour. If it falters, you might encounter difficulties. Rest assured, Harry, I will also explore legal avenues to help Lord Black, and you can finally be under your godfather's care, as it should have been from the start."

Harry expressed his gratitude to Ragnok once more before turning to leave. As he made his way out, a lingering concern crossed his mind. He paused, glancing back at the goblin. "Uh, I think I'll stay at the Leaky Cauldron and grab my school supplies while I'm here..." Harry mumbled to himself, a quiet hope hanging in the air. "I hope this glamour lasts until I can get my stuff from the Dursleys."

Ragnok nodded in acknowledgment. "I shall make your rooming arrangements while you fetch your things from home, and do not hesitate to send an owl if you need any other banking assistance." With that assurance, Harry left Gringotts, his mind swirling with newfound knowledge and the weight of responsibilities settling on his shoulders.
