Oh Aeons... What could Ruan Mei want from you today?
"Hmm...I checked around all the areas in the Space Station except for the Supply Zone, perhaps the Critter Cakes must've headed there?" You crossed your arms and put on a thinking pose with your hand under your chin. They couldn't have gone far away.
"It might be so, if you can fetch them back for me I'd be happy." Ruan mei spoke softly, sitting down at her table. She stares at the strawberry decorated pastry on the plate before her. A gift from you, her assistant.
She appreciates it.
"Right, I'll go find them." You smile, walking up to the door you slide it open and it shuts behind you.
It was way warmer outside and you missed the cold temperature of the office.
Heading towards the Supply Zone you recall rumors that there were still some Antimatter Legion monsters hanging around the Supply Zone attacking researchers. Though there were no monsters in your path so you dismissed the rumors. You were at the door to the Supply zone.
Clicking on the verification tab you open the door and stepped inside. You sould probably try speaking to them, you thought to yourself. The cakes would come to you if they heard your voice.
""Meow...meow~" Oh this was embarrassing. If anyone saw you like this.
"Whatcha meowing for?"
You turn around swiftly feeling embarrassed that someone had caught you in such a situation. Asta with a big cheeky smile plastered on her face steps forward. Due to her height she has to look up to speak to you.
Asta giggles, to which you tried to explain yourself. "I can explain—" You stopped speaking when Asta reveals the little critter cakes behind her, they were meowing in fear.
You guessed it's because due to unfortunate encounters with the Antimatter Legion monsters but they seem to have no scratches on their body so they should be fine.
"I found them here while searching the Supply Zone for another one of our curio researchers who got attacked here but we managed to rescue them before anything bad happened."
"There shouldn't be any leftover Antimatter Legion Monsters here, I thought you fixed the whole situation?"
"Well....I did but I didn't think that these were hiding here. Last time I checked they weren't here."
You kneeled down and scooped up the little critters into your arms. Asta smiled softly, before remembering something.
"Remember, You promised that we'd hanging out today. Come meet me at our usual meeting up spot!"
"Yeah yeah i'll see you soon." You playfully shoo Asta away with your hand before leaving the Supply Zone together. On your way out you chatted some more with Asta before parting ways.

Ruan mei picks up the spoon and scoops out a bite sized portion of the pastry that was adorned and filled with strawberry, opening her mouth she places the pastry on her tongue.
the flavours all melted together on her tongue. The sweetness from the pastry and the sourness of the strawberry and vanilla cream mixed in with the strawberry filling.
All of it created a pleasing taste for her, seems like you managed to capture what she really likes in her mouth. She finishes the rest of the pastry.
The door slides open as you enter, The critters fall from your arms into the floor in joy. You laugh at their meowing.
Ruan mei turns her head towards you, "you've returned."
Ruan Mei picks up the small handkerchief and wipes away any small pastry bits near her lips.
"Did you like my gift?," You walk up to Ruan Mei's desk, Your fingers graze softly over her papers.
"I did." You smile softly at her response. It filled you with joy.
The small critter cakes jump away to another room as Ruan Mei stands up from her seat.
Approaching you, she raises her hand and places beside your neck.
She retrieved her hand back and grabbed something from the drawer. "and this is my gift to you."
She hooks up the necklace around your neck, it's similar to her own. "Do you like it?" Ruan mei asks you .
"Yes, thank you." You thanked Ruan Mei, getting a gift from a Genius Society member was something you never expected.
"You look pretty." Ruan Mei complimented you. You nodded, a bit flustered by the compliment.
Ring
Your phone rang, it was a call from Asta. Shit you forgot to meet up with her.
"I won't be needing you for now, you're free for today," Ruan Mei sat at her desk, "Go on."
You left the office to meet up with Asta. She kept nagging you with questions about your new gift.
