Introductions Inevitably
The room sits in stark silence as the words ring through the room. Marina grips her fists tightly as that feeling of dread bubbles in her stomach, the words conforming what she's known for a while after having prophetic dreams of her future and other signs of her inevitable immortality, even after her stark denial to such thoughts.
Poseidon feels hope bloom in his chest, that he won't lose his daughter. He looks over to his daughter only to see that her face is pale and tears begin to coat her eyes, his hope shrivels at the sight of her dread for her fate.
The other gods have mixed feelings as they look at the teen girl. Theo sits frozen next to his girlfriend as he feels the hope for their future burn away, Blaise sits beside Annabeth and Theo, shocked while Chiron and the demigods aren't as surprised. They know that Marina has a following in not only camp but also in the wizarding world, it's inevitable that she would ascend to godhood.
However, her mortal family and those of the wizarding world are shocked that she will become immortal. Her family is happy that she won't die but they didn't ever think of immortality for Marina.
Marina grabs hold of Theo's hand, tightly which knocks him out of his depressing thoughts. He looks to her, to see her teary eyes as she kisses the back of his hand in promise that she won't leave him, no matter what. He gives the same promise back to her with sad eyes looking into her own.
They look back at the screen while holding tightly to each other's hand.
[At King's Cross Station, Marina, with her cart of her baggage, equipment, walks beside her aunt Sally.]
Sally checks her watch, "The train leaves in 10 minutes. Let's get onto the platform." She looks around trying to remember what she was told about the platform, spotting where the entrance should be as some redheads rush into the wall before them.
Marina looks surprised as she watches the last redheads run through the wall, disappearing from sight. Sally points to the spot, "Here it is. This is platform 9¾, it's always between platform 9 and 10. Just run through the wall like the other people did okay."
[Marina takes a breath and runs at the wall, shutting her eyes instinctively and emerging on the other side a magnificent station at Platform 9¾ with a red steam locomotive, which is the Hogwarts Express, and bundles of people. Marina grins as the engine's whistle blows. Sally comes through next behind her niece.]
Marina and Sally stand on the platform after putting up Marina's bags, "I love you Marina, be good and have fun at school." Sally says with teary eyes at having to say goodbye to her niece again.
"I love you too, aunt Sally. I'll be good." Marina says, also sad at having to leave her aunt. The two share a tight hug as the whistle blows in warning. "I'll see you this winter."
"Were you good?" Lily asks her daughter which Marina tilts her head side to side as she wasn't good nor bad.
Marina walks through the hall of the train, trying to find a spot when she see's the two boys from the wand shop. They are the only ones in the compartment. Deciding, she knocks on the door, gaining their attention. "Can I sit in here with you both?" However, her eyes are on the boy with the blue eyes and dark wavy hair.
People snicker at her obviousness in her attraction while Sirius, Remus, and Sally tease James who acted in the same way towards Lily.
They agree, closing the door behind her as she takes a seat beside said boy who keeps catching her eye. She's about to introduce herself when the door slides open, standing in the doorway is a redheaded boy. "Excuse me, do you all mind? Everywhere else is full."
The train lurches as it heads towards the countryside. She looks to the other two boys, not sure if they would mind. They allow the boy to sit with them, he takes a seat next to the dark skinned boy.
"I'm Ron, by the way. Ron Weasley." The redheaded boy across from Marina introduces himself.
The boy beside him, nods at him in acknowledgement while the boy beside Marina just looks at him. "I'm Marina. Marina Potter." Introduces herself to them. Ron gapes at her while the other two boys look her over, interested.
"So. So it's true! I mean, do you really have the-?" Ron stutters on his words. Marina looks at him confused before looks at the other two, hoping they could possible know what he's trying to say.
The twins snicker, loudly whispering about how Ron is a stalker and he shouts at the twins, denying.
Molly scolds Ron about asking to see the scar but Marina reassures Molly that she didn't mind back then.
The boy beside him speaks, "Can we see the scar?" Ron nodding along while the boy beside her also looked interested. Marina moves her hair away from her face, showing the boys her scar, they all lean a little closer to see it. The boys are a little in awe of her legendary scar.
Once they are all sitting back in their seats, Marina looks to the boys from the wand shop. "What are your names?"
"Blaise Zabini, From the house of Zabini." The dark skin boy next to Ron introduces himself.
The blue eyed boy next to Marina introduces himself as well, "Theodore Nott Jr, From the house of Nott." Ron greets the fellow purebloods.
"It's nice to meet you both, however I do have a question. Why did you state your last name that way?" Marina questions as Ron didn't introduce himself that way but the other two did.
"We are purebloods so our houses have power in the wizarding world. While our houses are set by family bloodlines." Theo explains.
Marina spots a confused look, "Pureblood?"
Ron speaks up, "Purebloods come from long lines of witches and wizards. The three of us are all purebloods while you are a half blood with a muggle born mother and pureblood father." Knowing a lot about her from reading about her in books.
"That's ironic." Clarisse says with a light smirk on her face.
The people from the wizarding world look confused, "Why is it ironic?" Ron questions.
Thalia explains to her cousin's friend, "Demigods are also called half bloods."
"I'm a half blood on both sides." Marina tells her friend, which is heard by everyone in the room.
"Half blood? Muggleborn?"
"A half blood is someone who comes from a pureblood parent and a muggle or a pureblood and muggle born parent. A muggle born is someone who is born to non magical parents, typically muggles." Blaise explains some more. Marina understands more now.
[A woman with a trolley comes by the compartment, full of sweets. The kids get some sweets as they explain the different treats to Marina, including a few things that were brought up about the wizarding world. Ron's pet rat, Scabbers squeaks, gaining the attention of the occupants.]
The Greeks listen to their explanations on the sweets and other topics. Those aware glare at the rat on screen.
"This is Scabbers, by the way. Pathetic, isn't he?" Ron says about his pet. The other two boys look at the rat in disgust while Marina barely blinks, having seen worse and larger rats in the New York subway.
"Extremely!" The ones aware shout, which only confuse those around the room who don't know.
Blaise scoots away from both the rat and Ron, "Very." Theo side eyes the rat as well from his place opposite of Blaise.
"Fred gave me a spell to turn him yellow. Want to see?" Ron asks. Marina excitedly wants to see, while Theo shoots Blaise a look when he goes to deny, seeing how excited Marina is to see the spell.
James begrudges liking Theo so far, at least glad that Theo is trying to keep his little pearl's happiness so far. Lily shakes her head at her husband, pouting.
As Ron starts to speak the spell, he is interrupted by the door opening where a girl with frizzy and bushy hair appears. "Has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville's lost one."
Aphrodite barely holds back her shriek at Hermione's hair, silently cataloging what treatments the girl needs to care for her curly hair and get back its health.
Everyone gives their denial, especially Marina who looks grossed out at the thought of a toad being around. Spotting Ron with his wand in hand, "Oh, are you doing magic? Let's see then."
Ron clears his throat, "Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow, turn this stupid fat rat yellow!" He zaps Scabbers, but nothing happens. Ron shrugs while Marina looks disappointed.
The twins bust out laughing, as chuckles are heard around the room while Ron turns red in embarrassment. Hermes and Apollo joining in the laughter, said twins remind the former of two of his sons.
"Are you sure that's a real spell? Well, it's not very good, is it? Of course, I've only tried a few simple ones myself, but they've all worked for me" She rambles before taking out her wand, sitting next to Marina who moves back towards Theo. Both kids blushing at the close proximity, while Blaise gives his friend a certain look.
Hermione points her wand at Marina's necklace; where said girl was fidgeting with it; which makes her tense at the girls wand close to her neck, "For example, Reparo." The front of the heart locket straightens as the hinge fixes and the shell-like design on the front loses its scratches and cracks from where Dudley took it and almost broke it, resulting in the bloody nose that he received as a result.
Said demigod is fidgeting with her locket with one hand while holding her boyfriends in the other.
James and Lily smile at the necklace, glad to know that she still has it. Sirius is silently cheering Marina on in fighting with her cousin which makes Remus shake his head at the man.
The wizarding people are surprised that Marina gave her cousin a bloody nose, as they haven't seen her throw down with people. Typically it's her boyfriend that's fighting. Her wizarding friends and boyfriend know that she knows how to fight physically but didn't know the true extent to her fighting prowess.
Marina's fighting prowess is known around camp as she always casually throws down with Clarisse, the gods aren't surprised about Marina fighting as it is the way of their Greek world.
"That's better." Marina looks upon it and opens it up to check the opening latch and hinge, spotting the picture of her parents inside. Marina looks up at Hermione, which lets Hermione glimpse Marina's scar. "Holy cricket, you're Marina Potter! I'm Hermione Granger. And you three are...?"
[Ron introduces himself with a full mouth, while Theo and Blaise give their names, not recognizing the girls last name and wondering if she's a half blood or if she's a muggle born. The two boys share a look asking the other but neither knows.]
Hermione glances at Ron a little in disgust before looking at the other three, "Pleasure. You all should change into your robes, I expect we'll be arriving soon." She passes the door before peaking back in, "You've got dirt on your nose, by the way. Did you know? Just there." Hermione points to the dirt mark of Ron's nose before leaving again.
[The other three lean around and there is dirt on Ron's nose which he rubs away in embarrassment.]
