Chapter 15
Sasuke stretches and yawns as he gets out of bed. He heads out of his room and into the kitchen where he sees his mother (Mikoto) making some breakfast.
“Good morning pup” she says as she smiles at him
Sasuke’s tail wags and he hugs his mom’s leg
“Good morning Okasan” he replies
Mikoto pets his head
“Breakfast is ready! Eat well before we head out to the village” she says and puts a plate of food in front of him.
Sasuke digs into his food and as soon as he finishes, he heads to his room to change.
He Mets his mom at the entrance of the house and puts his shoes on. Sasuke hold his mom’s hand and out they went to do their errands.
The market was busy with loads of people walking around. Sasuke looks around at all the food stands. He wasn’t paying attention and when he turns back his mom was gone.
Sasuke quietly whines as he starts to worry. He squeezes through the crowds and looks for his Okasan.
In his panic, Sasuke wasn’t paying attention to where he was walking and he accidentally bumps into someone.
“Ow” they both cry out
Sasuke looks at the person and sees a boy his age with the wildest blonde hair ever. Along with the bluest eyes he’s ever seen.
“I’m sorry! Are you ok?” He asks
Sasuke nods
The boy smiles
“Are you here alone too?” He says
Sasuke shakes his head no
“I’m here with my mom but I lost her” he says
The boy looks worried
“I can help you find her! Come on let’s look together” he says and grabs his hand
The boy leads him down through the market
“By the way my name’s Naruto, what’s yours?” The boy, Naruto asks
“Sasuke” he answers
After giving him a description of his mom to Naruto, they walk around the village looking for her. Naruto stopped to ask some villagers if they’d seen her but Sasuke notices the destain on their faces when talking to him. He also notices the glares on the blonde kid. They stop in front of some ramen shop and that’s when his mom finds them.
“Sasuke!” She calls out
“Mom!” He calls back
Sasuke lets go of Naruto hand and runs into his mom arms. Mikoto thugs him tight and check him over to see if he’s alright. Once she sees that he’s alright, she looks over at Naruto.
“Thank you for helping my pup” she tells him
Naruto just smiles
“No worries! I’m glad we were able to find your mom Sasuke!” He says
Sasuke feels his face heat up as an unfamiliar feeling fills him. Mikoto smiles and asks
“What’s your name?”
“Naruto” the boy answers
His mom’s face seems to morph into realization and soon into a little sadness. Sasuke’s not sure why.
“Thanks again for helping Naruto. Come on Sasuke we have to get going” she says as she hold Sasuke’s hand.
Naruto waves goodbye and dashes down the road. Sasuke still feels weird and he blushes.
What’s this feeling?
Why does Naruto make him feel this way?
Why is he sad that he left?
Sasuke is unsure to the answers of these questions.
It was lunch and Sasuke was sitting under a tree. The tree he and Naruto have started to sit together at, the one with the swing. Naruto was currently swinging and looking at him with the biggest smile. It makes Sasuke feel warm inside, it makes him feel good that he was the reason for that smile.
They were sharing their lunches with each other and enjoying their new routine.
“Sit down and eat your lunch usuratonkachi” Sasuke says
Naruto just giggles
“We still have so much time Sasuke! Don’t be grumpy” He says
Sasuke just sighs and continues eating. A peaceful silence fills the space between them until that was broken by Naruto
“You know, lunch was always a lonely time for me” he says
Sasuke puts his chopsticks down and looks at him
Naruto leans back and continues
“Seeing all the others with friends and having fun. I’ve always wanted that.”
Naruto sits back up
“And now I do! Thanks for sitting with me during lunch teme, you have no idea how much this means to me” he says as he shyly looks away while blushing.
Sasuke’s face also heats up and he has the brightest blush ever. His heart’s racing and he feels all warm and tingly inside.
“You are an amazing person, the brightest. You also make me feel warm” Sasuke tells him, his nerves jumping all over.
Naruto looks back at him and smiles wider. It was contagious and soon enough, Sasuke was also smiled. A small one, but still a smile.
For the first time since his family/clan’s death, he feels truly happy. He feels truly in love and Sasuke hopes that he can have a happy future together with Naruto.
It was a cold night and it was snowing throughout the village. Sasuke was in bed waiting for his love to return with their cups of hot chocolate. He thinks back to the shared moments he had had with Naruto. The moments that made his love for Naruto grow stronger. The door to the bedroom opens and in comes in Naruto holding two mugs. Naruto smiles and hands him one.
Sasuke grabs it and blows into the mug to cool the hot chocolate down a little. He takes a sip and enjoys the warmth that spread through his body. Naruto comes into bed and cuddles into him. They enjoy each other’s company as they watch the snow fall outside the window. Sasuke kisses Naruto and nuzzles their noses together.
“Thank you” he tells him
Naruto smiles
“For what?” He asks
Sasuke kisses him again and says
“For being my mate and for everything you have done for me”
