Regulus slammed the door to Remus's room open and sighed. “What's wrong, Reg?” he asked, closing his book. “Stupid Potter, why are boys so confusing? I mean, why James? Why can't we be like you and Sirius?” he explained with fury.

“Mhm, yeah,” Remus mumbled sadly. “What's wrong?” Reg asked, focusing his attention on the pretty werewolf next to him.

“I'm kinda not talking to Sirius right now,” he said sadly. Regulus sat next to him on the bed. “What happened?” he asked.

Remus sighed. “Sirius led Snape to the willow when I… transformed, so now Snape knows about me, and he almost died just for a laugh!” Regulus paused, shocked that his brother would do that. “Remus, I'm so sorry. I never would have thought my brother would do that.”

Remus sadly smiled at Reg. “Yeah, it sucks. I thought Sirius actually cared for me and I don't know, loved me. It's stupid.” Reg blushed. “No, no, it's not stupid. I get it. I mean, Potter is great, but I can tell he's in love with Lily. I can see it on his stupid face,” he mumbled.

“God, Reg, why do we just have such terrible taste in boys? We are idiots, aren't we?” Remus groaned, flopping back on the mattress. “Yeah, Remus, we are. We deserve better,” Reg said, looking longingly at the pretty werewolf boy who was now fluffing his hair.

“Reg.”

“Yeah, Remus.”

“Why couldn't I have picked you instead of Sirius?”

Reg's heart stopped; his throat felt dry as he stared blindly at Remus. “What,” was all he could whisper.

“I dunno, it's stupid, but I feel like if I never dated Sirius or you were the older brother, I might have dated you instead.” He shrugged. After years and years, Reg's dreams were coming true. “Remus, if you would like, we could still try. I mean, me and you?” he suggested tentatively.

Remus's eyes filled with sparks. “Reg, I mean, but isn't being with your ex's brother against some code or something?” he asked.

Reg harnessed all of his family's ego and charisma (of course, the French accent) and seductively said, “Well, you're rather pissed with Sirius, so I say the rules go out the window. Not to mention, I have wanted this for a long, long time.” He crawled closer to Remus.

“Wow, Reg, I mean,” Remus said uncharacteristically nervous. “What do you say, Lupin?” He leaned closer.

“Reg,” he said quietly before sealing the space between the two of them with a kiss. A long-awaited kiss, for Regulus, it felt more right than kissing James ever did, and for Remus, it felt like fixing a mistake in the past. He kissed the wrong brother, but now he found who he truly longed for—someone with a similar face, just with shorter hair, bluer eyes, and truly got along with.

“Remus,” he asked pulling away.

“Reg.”

“Thank you,” he said quietly. Remus laughed. “Where did that Black family ego go now?”

Reg blushed. “I think I used up the last of that, Remus.” Remus smiled at him and gently ran his fingers through Reg's silly black hair. “God, your hair is nicer than your brother's,” he said in awe. “Haha, thanks, Remus.” He smiled at the boy he just kissed.

“Hey, Reg,” he said tentatively.

“Yeah.”

“I really liked that, by the way.” Reg blushed. How did he manage to have this effect on Remus? “Same. Care to do it again sometime?” he asked.

“Oh yeah, definitely,” Remus snickered.

He flicked his wand at the record player. "Soul Love" started playing. Remus sat up and sat close to Regulus, kissing him again and again.

They sat there, giggling and kissing, completely forgetting about the boys that broke their hearts. For now, they have each other.
