“No!”
“And with that, Puddlemere takes the lead”
“My great aunt Muriel could hit harder!”
“Both seekers seem to have spotted the snitch at the same time. Patelby for the Canons seems to be in the lead with Mulligan hot on her tail.”
“Go! Go! Go!”
She stood by the floo, her briefcase still in hand, not wanting him to know she was home yet. The wireless crackled and she held her breath waiting to hear who would catch the snitch. Hermione did not care about quidditch more than she had in her Hogwarts days but if her ten years of marriage to Ron Weasley had taught her anything was that she did not want to be around him if the Canons lost.
“Bloody hell ,Patelby!”
She sighed quietly.
Every Thursday.
Every single Thursday she came home from the ministry exhausted and the flat would be a mess. Ron would be sitting in his chair, wearing that ghastly Chudley’s kit jersey, which clashed with his hair and if his favorite team lost, she’d hear about it all evening.
“And Mulligan dives and catches the snitch! Puddlemere wins!!”
She reached into the floo powder container and the cursing from the sitting room covered her voice as she said “Malfoy Manor" and vanished in a roar of green flames
