Interview with James Potter
Interviewer: Hello James and congratulations on signing up with Scuderia Ferrari and officially joining Formula 1. What are your first thoughts? Ferrari isn't used to introducing drivers this young on the grid. Are your first days here with the team, what you expected?
James Potter: Thank you very much. So yeah, obviously when you get a call from Ferrari and a seat offer anything other than 'holy shit' is unacceptable. I think I cried for a couple of hours after I picked up the phone, haha. And of course, the team is great! Everyone has been so nice to me so far, it's completely surreal. Yeah, it's undoubtedly been delightful, yeah.
I: And of course, you're teaming up with Frank Longbottom, two times world champion. Have you guys become best friends Have you gotten any tips yet?
JP: Frank is great, if I didn't have to keep professional relations in the workplace, I'd propose. He is definitely a keeper. Can't wait to annoy him this season.
I: Do you think it's an easy transition for him to go from a fellow champion, Alice Fortescue to a rookie as their partner?
JP: I obviously can't speak for Frank but I believe every season to be a new one with new opportunities. Alice left and joined another team and I took her spot. It's how the sport works. If he feels strongly about it, I have no idea, haha. And also all of these champs were rookies once! Can't blame a man for trying. Behind every great driver is a rookie trying to impress everyone.
I: Speaking of rookies, you're not the only one! Have you had the chance to reunite with the brothers?
JP: Not yet! Not yet! The brothers have been running away from me. I think they are too scared to watch me in red, they can't handle it.
I: You were previously teammates with Sirius Black in F2, how does it feel to come to F1 in rival teams? Have you talked about it at all?
JP: As I said, such is the nature of the sport. And yeah, obviously we've talked about it. I tend to skip practice for video chats with Black, I don't think Ferrari appreciates it very much. But they are slowly understanding he's the third driver while also being a driver in Red Bull. Truly a multitasker.
I: What about Regulus Black?
JP: What about him?
I: How does it feel to continue your rivalry with the younger Black, him being in Mercedes now and you in Ferrari?
JP: As I feel about every other driver I haven't beaten yet. Ask me when the season starts and I'll tell you how I feel about him.
I: What are your goals for the season so far? What are you hoping to achieve?
JP: It's still early to set realistic goals for the season but I am a dreamer at heart! I'd love to win the championship. But I am not ready yet, so I'll compromise by learning as much as I can from the best, gaining points for the team, and getting a few podiums baby!
I: Any particular race you're excited about?
JP: Monza! And perhaps Silverstone, it's always fun to race home!
I: That's all the questions I have for you, James. We can stop now.
JP: Did I do well? How did I do?

JP: I'm sweating, I think I was cool, was I cool?
I: You were cool, really cool.
JP: My therapist is going to be so proud I didn't start crying. I'm gonna call her after this,
