I woke up the morning after with James that was gently shaking me, still half asleep. Sirius was still sleeping in James’ bed, he wasn’t looking very good. “what’s the matter James?” i asked with a groggy rather tired voice, “Sirius isn’t feeling well at all, i think he has a fever..” he said rubbing his eyes, i got up and checked. He was sweating and he was feeling oddly warm under my fingers. “Yeah he has a fever, but he’s going to be fine in a couple of hours” I said “will you fetch me the bowl of water please? Also a handkechief” James got everything that i needed and then looked at me, worried, “Eli, are you sure you are fine?” I nervously chuckled “Hehe, of course James, why wouldn’t I be ok?” James walked over me and placed his hand on my shoulder “You’re still wearing your uniform and you smell of cigarettes. You almost never smoke Elias..” i chilled the bowl with a quick motion of my hand and dunked the handkechief in the cold water, then placed it onto Sirius’ forehead “James.. I’m fine, it’s just that i’m so.. negative lately.. and it’s reflecting on you guys. What happened yesterday?” James sighed and sat next to Sirius “Sirius was worried about you because he saw that you weren’t in your right mood yesterday, and he was sad that he didn’t notice before, Remus said that you were just trying to… get his attention and that you are just as a desperate bitch as him. Sirius slapped him and they started yelling at eachother I tried to separate them but Remus stormed out of the room and didn’t come back, and you went missing and Sirius was just having too much emotions, so he started sobbing very hard and i had to try to calm him for three hours, before he fell asleep. Three hours.” I started feeling bad again, but i had to hide it, I didn’t want James to worry “Shit James.. I’m sorry..” i kept dunking the wet piece of cloth in the chilly water and placing it on sirius’ neck and forehead.
“I really wish you could say what you think to him..” James said.
I stopped mid action and just froze.
“I’m sorry, what?” James looked at me “ Elias, you’re not hiding it and it’s been three years. I know you, you’re my best friend. If i didn’t knew what goes in that stormy head of yours I would suck as your best friend” i looked at him with anxiety, fear and stress building up “Elias-” james said with a worried tone, then he hugged me. I was about to crumble away, I was so scared and stressed i didn’t even say anything “Elias, you’re fine, I don’t care about those things.. I love you man” with my voice shaken by all those emotions i tried to speak “d-does anyone else know?” “no Elias, only I know, don’t worry” James said rubbing my back “ok” i said breaking from the hug going back at pressing the handkechief onto Sirius. “James, y-you should get changed and tell McGonagall that Sirius and I are sick and we are staying in our rooms” I said while trying to recompose myself “Sure” he said ruffling my hair and giving me a quick smile before getting his clothes ready and going to the common bathrooms.
I was left alone with Sirius that was still sleeping and at that moment i broke. I held his hand and started crying, resting my head onto his bed “ I don’t know what to do..” i whispered between silent sobs “oh god, why am I like this” I said, squeezing his warm hand into mine, so cold and achey because of the cold water. “Elias..?” I quickly raised my head to find Sirius with his eyes a little open “is that you?” “yes Sirius, I’m back..” i said, with a shakey voice “oh, cool..” he said sighing “glad you’re back El” “ do you want some water?” he shook his head “no thanks, I think i’ll sleep a bit more, i’m feeling tired” I kissed his forehead to check the temperature and also took the advantage to give him a little love. He smiled, and i smiled too “Thanks Remus, i’m sorry you got angry yesterday..” he said before drifting into his dreams, while i sat there with eyes full of tears, and the heart so empty and heavy. I lost track of time again and i somehow fell asleep too. I got waken up by Sirius telling me to wake up and get into his bed so, half asleep, i did as he asked me to, so we cuddled in James’ bed for at least two hours, cause james came back with food and saw Sirius hugging me and playing with my hair while i was sleeping with my face in his chest and my hands going around his back and ending up in his long black hair.
