Amidst the tumultuous battleground, Fleur ran down the corridors of Hogwarts ducking and dodging the flying spells. As she moved, she fired off spells at any Death Eater she spotted but it never seemed like enough. They kept coming. When one went down, another four took their place.

A flash of vibrant pink hair stood out amongst the darkness. She spotted Dora, her wand flowing through the air with determined energy. Her opponent was Bellatrix Lestrange, the epitome of malevolence, with a permanent sneer on her face and her cackling laugh that echoed through the corridors.

Fleur's attention was focused solely on the battle in front of her. She stood paralyzed as their spells clashed and cast a shower of sparks through the air.

Finally, Fleur's feet unfroze, and she was moving once more. She ran through the doors to the Great Hall and moved closer to her partner when a nearby explosion knocked her through the air and she slid across the stone floor.

She looked up, blood in her eyes, just in time to witness Bellatrix cast a powerful curse that struck Dora directly in her chest. Dora collapsed to the ground, and her once vibrant hair faded into its natural brown colour.

"No!" Fleur yelled out in anguish; the pain of the loss shattered her to her very core.

Fleur shot upright in her bed. Sweat coated her skin and her heart raced out of her chest. She couldn't catch her breath. She looked desperately at the other side of the bed and saw that it was empty. She stumbled out of bed and down the hall. She almost fell down the stairs in her haste but managed to catch herself at the last minute.

Fleur spotted the Kitchen light on and she all but threw herself into the Kitchen. Her eyes landed on her wife, her hair a rich dark blue. She didn't even stop to stay anything she just collapsed in her wife's arms and held her tight.

She felt Dora's arms wrap around her and hold on just as tightly, "If I didn't know better, I'd think you missed me."

Fleur's breath shuddered as she exhaled, "I did miss you," she whispered, and she had. It was on nights like this, when Dora couldn't sleep, and Fleur was plagued by nightmares that she wanted her wife beside her.

"Final battle again?" Dora asked when she felt the shiver that ran down Fleur's spine.

"Yeah, but this time I wasn't fast enough to block that final curse. It hit you and I lost you," Fleur cried.

Dora just tightened her hold with one arm but untangled her other arm to grab one of Fleur's hands and bring it up to rest against her chest.

"Do you feel that? I'm right here. I'm okay. You saved me," Dora whispered and just let Fleur calm.

After a few minutes, Fleur stopped crying and the couple just stood in the Kitchen holding one another. Fleur pulled back and just looked deep into Dora's eyes.

"Thanks. Sorry for all this," Fleur whispered.

"You never have to apologize," Dora reassured her wife, "You want to head back to bed?"

Fleur nodded and laced their fingers together. Dora led the way back upstairs. The pair settled back into bed with Fleur on her side and Dora wrapped around her, holding her close.
