Chapter 9
Caroline wandered the halls, glaring back at the portraits on the walls. As she rounded a corner she saw a group of Ravenclaws leaning against the wall.
With a frown, she walked past the group and out into the courtyard. The wind hitting her cooly in the face. She shivered, goosebumps rising on her uncovered arms. Merlin, why did Klaus get the most revealing clothes possible.
"Caroline!"
Letting a smile slip automatically into place, she turned around to face her boyfriend. He wandered over to her, a smile on his face before slipping off his jacket and wrapping it around her shoulders.
"Where did you get that bruise from?" He softy asked, his voice low enough for only her to hear. Glancing down at her waist, she realised part of the bruise could be seen from underneath her low cut top.
"I don't remember, I woke up with it."
Klaus's warning rung loudly in her mind and she glanced at the ground briefly before meeting Tyler's eyes.
He nodded in return before glancing over his shoulder at the group of boys in their quidditch gear.
"Look we have practice but I'll see you after,"
"Of course," Caroline responded easily. Tyler was harmless, he would never hurt her. Klaus was being crazy.
"I'm going to go find Elena and Bonnie, see you in a few hours,"
"Ok babe," he quickly kissed her on the forehead before darting away.
Turning swiftly on her heel, Caroline rushed further away and toward the edge of the forbidden forest.
"Elena!" She called out as she approached and the girl glanced up with a smile on her face.
"Hey Care," she mumbled as she sat up from her seat against the tree, her straight hair tucked into a ponytail with a blue ribbon.
"What are you doing down here, I assumed you would watch Tyler play,"
"I am way too hungover to try and understand quidditch right now," Caroline laughed, an easy smile making its way onto her face.
"Oh yea, sorry about bombarding you with that," Elena giggled.
"It's no problem, I haven't seen Bonnie since,"
"Yea neither, probably went off with Enzo,"
"Yea they probably reconciled," Caroline mumbled.
"They fought?"
Caroline's eyes widened slightly, "Yea just something silly, you know. Couple fights."
"Yea makes sense," Elena mumbled.
"Can you help me with my history Care, I was supposed to be studying last night,"
"Elena!" Caroline chastised.
"Caroline," Elena mocked, grinning up at the standing blonde.
Shaking her head slightly, Caroline sat beside Elena and peered over her shoulder at her work.
"That is a myth Elena, not fact. Binns will have your head if you submit that."
"I thought this happened. I swear I read about it,"
"Yea in Folklore of Magical Spells," Caroline scoffs.
"Shut up," Elena laughed, nudging the girl.
Caroline put her hands up in mock surrender before turning to Elena.
"Just do it on the Statue of Secrecy, he has been raving about that for weeks,"
"He has?"
Caroline nodded quickly.
"Yea, I was talking to Genevieve in History of Magic about Kai's rumoured relationship even though I am certain he will die single by choice and Binns was talking about why it came around and who was Minister at the time. Anyway that was like 4 weeks ago and just two days ago he was talking about it still. He like repeated the same words which is ironic since Genevieve and I were back on the topic of Kai. Not his love life but his behaviour. Did you know there is discussion of him being expelled. There hasn't been someone expelled in half a century. I think he is-"
"Woah Caroline calm down," Elena chuckled, resting her hands on Caroline's shoulders.
Caroline grinned and tilted her head to the side, "Sorry," she mumbled.
"Well if I am changing topics then I will start this later," Elena mumbled, pushing herself to her feet and holding out her hand for Caroline.
Taking it, Caroline stood up as well and the two made their way back up to the castle.
"It is almost noon, surely Bonnie is awake by now," Caroline whined.
"I know right, what do you say to a group sleepover tonight, since last nights was cancelled?" Elena questioned, turning her head towards Caroline.
"Cant, I am meeting with Tyler after his practice and the chances are I will stay at his."
Elena smirked and nudged Caroline playfully.
"It isn't like that," Caroline grumbled, crossing her arms.
"Does he want to?"
"Well yes he does but still, I just." Caroline pauses, as though trying to find the right words, "I want to wait until I am absolutely certain."
"Fair enough, what aren't you certain about,"
"Everything," Caroline groaned as they entered the castle and turned towards the great hall.
"If Bonnie isn't in here I will announce defeat." Elena grumbled.
Caroline laughed, grinning as she spotted Bonnie at the Ravenclaw table.
"Well aren't you lucky,"
Both girls grinned as they made their way over.
"Hey Bon Bon!" Caroline squealed, throwing her arms around her shoulders,"
Bonnie grinned up at the two girls.
"Where did you disappear to last night?" Caroline grinned while wriggling her eyebrows suggestively.
"The astronomy tower,"
"Seeing stars were you?" Caroline smirked.
Elena burst into a fit of giggles as she sat at Bonnie's left while Bonnie's jaw dropped open in shock.
"Caroline Forbes!"
"Yes Bonnie Bennet," Caroline grinned.
"I am disgusted by your behaviour,"
"I have perfect behaviour," Caroline smirked.
"Prefect after all,"
Both girls shook their heads with a smile.
"Bonnie want to catch up tonight, since Caroline is with Tyler," Elena asked.
Caroline focused her eyes onto her food as she waited to hear Bonnie's answer.
"Enzo wants to have more of my attention, we got into a small fight. You should spend the night with Damon."
"Ok," Elena grinned and began to pull some food onto her plate.
"Wait Caroline, you said you were hungover and you don't get hungover unless you were completely out of it drunk so where did you sleep?" Elena asked.
"Oh merlin! I forgot so quickly. I woke up in Klaus Mikaelson's bed!"
Elena's hand went over her mouth and Bonnie's haw dropped as they both stared at her.
Caroline nodded her head before continuing, "He said something along the lines of everyone being gone and Tyler being a moody drunk that wouldn't want to share a bed."
"What about the Slytherin girls." Elena cut in.
"Rebekah yelled at him when he suggested it apparently,"
"Where did he sleep then," Bonnie asked.
"He wouldn't tell me," Caroline shrugged.
"He had this whole rant about being too well mannered to let a lady sleep on a couch,"
Bonnie smirked and Elena giggled.
"I think he likes you Care," Elena said, as Bonnie nodded in agreement.
"I am muggleborn, and I am bossy, and loud. And dating a guy he doesn't like. Trust me, he hates me. He literally told me he hates me."
Bonnie only shook her head slightly as Elena grinned.
"Caroline, he gave up his bed for you,"
"He doesn't like me. I would know if he did,"
Elena rolled her eyes and Bonnie chuckled but both girls dropped the topic.
