James stood in front of the mirror, clad in his elegant dress robes, as he tried to tame the rebellious bowtie that refused to cooperate. Sirius sat on the bench in front of the nearby window and watched the struggle with an amused grin.

"Need a hand there, groom-to-be?" Sirius ask, his tone filled with playful mockery.

James shot him a half-hearted glare before he bowed his head in defeat, "I swear, it has a mind of its own."

Sirius stood up and stepped closer, he reached out and deftly adjusted the wayward bowtie with practiced ease, "You'd think you'd have mastered this by now."

"How many times have I actually worn a bowtie. Three times in twenty years," James said with a roll of his eyes while he adjusts the bowtie, that while tied perfectly, sat a little off center, "Thanks."

"Heh, what are friends for, right?" Sirius chuckled, "Now you're looking like the dashing groom you were meant to be."

James turned to face Sirius, his expression shifted to one of nervous anticipation, "I can't believe this is actually happening. I'm getting married today."

"I still can't believe you got her to say yes," Sirius laughed and ducked out of the way of James' incoming punch to the shoulder, "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. You and Lily are perfect for each other."

"Yeah," James sighed, "she's incredible," his voice tinged with awe, "I'm the luckiest guy alive."

"Come on luckiest guy alive, we've gotta get out of here before you're late for the wedding."

James and Sirius walked down the stairs and met up with Remus in the main foyer of the Potter Manor.

"Looks like it might rain," said Remus.

"What?!" James exclaimed before he ran towards the front door. He pulled it open and looked out in dismay at the gray clouds that had rolled in while he had been upstairs getting ready. The wind had picked up and James watched as red and brown leaves tumbled down the street and danced through the air.

"Hey. Look at me," Sirius said as he approached his friend and pulled him away from the door, "Everything will be fine."

"But what if it rains!"

"Well, that's what you get for getting married in autumn."

"Not funny," James said through gritted teeth.

"We've got the tents set up and secured and let's be honest, magic will fix anything that gets wet," Remus said with a shrug.

"Thanks, guys. You've always been there for me. I don't think I'd be here without either of you."

A moment of silence passed between the three friends before they were interrupted by Peter, "James, let's go! Everyone's waiting."

"It's time," James said, a determined glint in his eyes.

Sirius clapped him on the shoulder and grinned, "You've got this. Now let's go and get you married!"

James stood at the end of the aisle and pushed away the thought of rain and wind ruining his day. Instead, he looked ahead and focused solely on the beautiful redhead that was walking towards him.
