Magical Lineage
Summary
The magical population of Britain was devastated by the war. So three years later the Ministry of Magic has announced their intention to begin a repopulation program. Every witch and wizard of a certain age will be automatically paired together to ensure all surviving bloodlines will continue. Muggle borns / half bloods and purebloods will be paired together to ensure enough magical births to repopulate Britain.Hermione Granger is about to have her life once again tied to her magical blood status. The Ministry of Magic is going to require her services again, but this time she will be paired with two very different wizards.

New Developments

According to the Repopulation Program guidelines, once a witch was pregnant, she must be seen at regular appointments by the healers and the doctors. If she were carrying more than one child, those appointments were more frequent. Hermione found that many witches that were assigned to two wizards, chose to carry individually, meaning first one then within six to eight weeks of delivery would begin the second pregnancy. These were usually witches that had two wizards that were not in any way connected to each other, even in friendship. Therefore, neither wizard was going to risk their heir in a high-risk multiple pregnancy.

She was actually only one of two witches that opted to carry two babies. The other witch was the one paired with Neville and Justin. She wanted to get it over so she could move to America. Their situations were similar in that the wizards were together as a couple. But in Neville’s case their witch was not part of the relationship, nor did she want to be. Whereas her trio was in love and planned on building a future together. They were a family.

The magical bond between the trio was part of the reason for Hermione’s desire to carry both scion’s heirs together. The other part was her love for both men and her desire to have their children literally grow together. Since she was carrying two babies, the medical guidelines set forth by the ministry were very clear, she was to be examined and monitored more closely and more often. Her pregnancy would be considered higher risk if she were carrying natural twins. But, the risk is even higher and the threat of complications much greater when carrying multiple babies from different blood lines. Add in Dr. Attwood’s knowledge and concern of their ‘magical triad’ being a possible complication, has her visiting once a week. To accommodate her busy schedule, Dr. Attwood has scheduled her appointments every Monday morning before she reports to Hogwarts. One of her wizards is always with her.

Theo had insisted she take a whole weekend for resting. Even though it was the last weekend before winter break, he had arranged for her colleagues to cover her library duties. So far the only resting she has had was in between the sex session, which have taken place non-stop all over the manor. Now, it’s Sunday morning and instead of resting in bed with her two wizards and thinking about her doctor’s appointment tomorrow and her busy week ahead, she is sitting in a private exam room at the reproduction clinic. An exam room that is only used for her and her wizards, accessed by its own private floo, connected directly to Malfoy Manor. Both Draco and Theo are with her, and they’re trying to calm her down. At their witch’s insistence Theo floo called Arianna Zabini to join them as soon as possible at the clinic. The trio wanted her there because of her research and knowledge on magical triads.

Her hair is sparking and her skin was glowing, and tingling.

Dr. Attwood walks into the exam room, followed closely by Arianna. Both taking in her appearance. Arianna instantly casts a diagnostic charm over the witch’s head. “Her heart rate is elevated; her blood pressure is above normal. She’s not dehydrated, or malnourished, although she is starting her second trimester and seems to have lost half a stone, and has yet to gain it back.”

Dr. Attwood begins his medical inquiry, “Are you eating?”

Hermione, “Yes.”

Draco, “No.”

Theo, “Not enough and not often enough.”

Dr. Attwood, “Are you sleeping?”

Hermione, “Yes.”

Draco, “No.”

Theo, “Not enough and not restfully.”

Dr. Atwood, “Are you exercising?”

Hermione, “Yes.”

Draco, “No.” She shoots him a ‘what the fuck’ look, so he adds, “Sex three to four times a day does not count.” She closed her mouth, dropping the argument.

Theo “Not the correct type of exercise. She moves around for her job but nothing to really get the heart pumping.”

Dr Attwood, “Have you been taking your daily prenatal.”

She smiles, “Every morning.”

Her wizards nodded, Theo adding, “Along with her morning tea.”

Dr. Atwood’s brow furrowed, “Hermione, we talked about he tea. It has an excessive amount of caffeine which is not good for the babies.”

The witch looked properly scolded, “I know but I just have the one cup and if I don’t have it I get headaches.”

Draco bent to look into her eyes. Concern clearly written there, “Why didn’t you tell us you were getting headaches. Theo could have brewed something to help that would not be harmful for the babies.”

Theo jumped in. “Kitten, you know that I have been brewing the gentle pain potion for Luna. That witch doesn’t put anything into her body that isn’t natural and healthy. She takes for her back pain, but it would also work for headaches.”

“I know but I really like my morning tea.”

Arianna spoke up, sighing out a breath, “Face it Hermione, they will never understand how much a witch has to change when she is pregnant. Not just her bodies physical changes, but her nutritional, her exercise, her tastes, smells, cravings.” I have a young lady that works at the manor that is a wholistic expert. When Blaise comes in tomorrow, I’ll have him bring a supply of her herbal teas. They taste fantastic and there isn’t any caffeine.”

Dr. Atwood took the opportunity to add, “Caffeine is not only bad for the baby but it can cause all kinds of issues for you, headaches, stomach discomfort, heartburn, nausea, even iron deficiency and kidneys tones.”

Hermione saw the worry crossing her wizards faces, but before she could say anything, Draco made the blanket statement, “ALL tea is now band from the manor.” The minute Theo added his agreement to the new decree, she knew there would be no arguing. Her beloved tea would most likely never be allowed within a hundred yards of her. Realization hit her that they would probably tell all the wizards, Ginny was going to be so pissed.

Dr. Atwood continued, “Have you been eating three meals a day along with three or four small healthy snacks?”

Nodding her head, “Yes.”

Theo and Draco both said “No.”

She shoots them a look, “I eat.”

Draco’s eyebrow couldn’t arch higher if he tried. “You my love are a little liar.”

Theo held her chin between his fingers and tipped her head to look at him. “Draco is right. A little liar. You may put food in front of you, but you barely eat. Not to mention, I saw the pumpkin pasties, the bumbleberry bars, Molly’s gift of chocolate frogs and the muggle Oreo cookies in your desk at the school.” When she tried to look down, he kissed the tip of her nose and smiled.

He passes her chin to Draco who adds, “Not to mention the various puddings that Tipsy sneaks to you when she thinks Theo and I aren’t paying attention.”

Properly chastised, “I can’t help it if I have a sweet tooth.”

Dr. Atwood’s chuckle breaks the tension. “Hermione, sweet treats are okay during a pregnancy, Magical pregnancies are a bit different. There is no such thing as diabetes in the magical world. Therefore, consuming a ‘bit’ of sugar is not dangerous, other than nutritionally, to a pregnant witch. But it is absolutely vital that most of your food consumption consist of nutritional, healthy choices. This will only benefit you and your babies.” Waiting until she nods her head in understanding, he adds, “You are now in your second trimester, you will be getting some cravings, it’s absolutely normal and feel free to indulge. But, again, please use good judgement when it comes to portions.”

“I will.”

Draco nodded, “We will be making sure.”

Theo took her hand, “Kitten we’ll all abide by the same dietary guidelines.” When she looked like she was about to argue, he added, “Hush witch. We are all in this pregnancy together.”

Dr. Atwood continued, “Hermione, could you please tell Healer Zabini and I what exactly happened this morning?”

Shaking her head, “I don’t really know. I woke up and noticed both Draco and Theo staring at me. and then I realized my skin felt ‘tingly’ like static in the air all around me.” Biting her lip, her voice cracking, “They may be able to tell you more about what is going on than me.”

Arianna turned to the two men and gave them a pointed look, which prompted Theo to speak. “I was sound asleep, we had planned on a nice long lie in. Hermione had started to stir, but not to wake, more like she was having a bad dream. I was just about to wake her when I heard a kind of very quiet buzzing noise, then my arm began to tingle. It was tucked under her neck, with my hand on Draco’s shoulder. I thought maybe it had just fallen asleep. Then I realized it wasn’t just my arm, it was all of my skin that was touching Hermione. I pulled my arm free at the same time Draco pulled away.”

Draco jumped in. “I felt Theo’s hand move and then I felt like all of my skin was vibrating. I pulled away from Hermione and sat up. Theo sat up too and, well, we both just froze.’

Theo continued. “Hermione’s hair was sparking, like when she gets mad or frustrated or very very excited.” He looked to her and she was mashing her lips together, a sign that she was worried. “Anyway the sparks didn’t seem to bother her, even though they we touching her bare neck, shoulders and chest. Draco, knowing he would get a shock, moved her hair off of her face and that was when we noticed that her skin was different.”

The little witch sat on an exam table wrapped in their bed sheet. Dr. Attwood, put gloves on and began to touch Hermione’s hand and arm. “Does your skin feel any different Hermione?”

Tears were gathering in her beautiful brown eyes. “No. It just feels normal.”

Arianna handed her a tissue. “Did you eat anything different before bed?”

She wiped her eyes, “No.” Noticing that Dr. Attwood wanted to see her neck, but her hair was still sparking, she gathered it up and put it in a messy bun and cast a holding charm.

He began to touch her neck and tip her head from side to side. “Does it feel different when I touch it?”

“No, not when you touch it. But if Theo or Draco touch me it feels like it’s vibrating. And…” she looked embarrassed. “…and I feel, um, I feel ‘needy’.”

Nodding his understanding, he turned to the wizards, “What do you feel when you touch her skin?”

Both wizards said, “Energized.”

Theo added, “We were talking while we were getting dressed and planning to floo call you. I feel her magic and then there is more… I know it doesn’t make sense but I feel her magic, and my magic and then I feel more, but not Dra’s, unless he is touching her too.” Taking a moment to think, “I mean, I am always aware of Dra’s magic, because of the triad connection, but I ‘feel’ it when we are both touching her.”

Draco stood and held her hand. “Yes that’s it exactly. I feel mine and hers and Theo’s if he is touching her, or me, but then I feel something else.” He noticed Arianna biting her lip. Addressing her, “Do you know what this is? Is it the triad magic?”

Nodding her head, “Yes. I believe it is. I believe that the three of you are forming a tighter bond. Your magic has already connected you, but…” She cuts herself off.

Hermione looks to her, eyes desperately searching the other woman’s features. When she speaks her voice breaks. “What? What were you going to say?” She swallows a lump in her throat, “Are the babies okay?”

Before the other witch speaks, she pulls her wand, and locks the floo and the door. Then casts a very strong privacy ward. Her wand still drawn, she looks at Dr. Attwood. “I trust you will put the best interest of this patient, these wizards and their children first.”

He looks confused, but nods, “I have taken a vow to ‘first do no harm’ my patient and their privacy always comes first.”

She continues, “What I am about to tell you is only my suspicion, based on my research.” Again, turning to Dr. Attwood. “You cannot document this anywhere. Not in her medical records, not in a side note, not even in a personal journal. If we were anyplace other than Britain, I wouldn’t be AS concerned. But the laws here are antiquated regarding witches and triads. If I am even partially right, this family could be in danger.”

The seriousness of her words weigh heavy in the room. Causing both wizards to flank their witch, who in turn instinctively puts bother her hands on her belly. Her shoulders squared and her back straight. Her lion ready to fight. Theo finally asking, “Arianna, what do you suspect?”

“Before I tell you I want you to know, I know what Blaise gave you for your birthday. You are my family too. Draco and Theo always have been because of my friendship and bond with their mothers. The children you carry and Blaise’s gift tie you to us. We will protect and fight for you.”

Draco looks up abruptly, “The babies. You think the babies have magic already.” Not a question. A statement.

Theo’s head snaps to look at Draco. “That’s not possible. Magical children, aren’t born with magic. They come into it at around three or four, accidental magic. I read about it in the pregnancy book mum has.”

Arianna nods her head. “Yes. When magical children begin to experience accidental magic, parents are able to bind it until they are older. But, and I say this with complete uncertainty, magical triads are stronger. Every documented record that I could find, says, ‘if a pregnancy happens, and if a child…A CHILD… is born, that child will most likely have bouts of accidental magic earlier, some as early as eighteen months.”

Hermione let out a little sob, “A CHILD. Not Children?

The older witch shook her head, “No. That was one of the things I wanted to discuss with all of you. I have never found a record of twins being born to a triad. Let alone twins that complete the connection of a witch carrying both wizards’ babies at the same time.”

Hermione’s hair sparked even more. “You also said ‘if a child is born.”.”

Again the older witch nodded. “Most recorded triads either didn’t produce children or the babies were lost during the pregnancy.” Seeing the fear cross all three faces she quickly added, “That is just what was recorded. Remember triads were greatly sought after. Dark wizards actually hunted them to harness their magic. So there were most likely triads and their offspring that stayed hidden. Or that chose to break their bond to protect themselves or their children.” Arianna saw the realization on the two wizard’s faces but also saw their desire to keep it from the witch.

Shaking his head, Draco continued, “But our babies aren’t even born yet. How could they be having accidental magic?”

The healer looked contemplative, “I don’t think it’s accidental magic. I think, since Hermione is starting her second trimester, that the babies are ‘developing’ their magic. Growing it, just as they are growing their organs or developing their brains.” Turning to Dr. Atwood, “I know muggles have a machine that let’s them ‘see’ the baby.”

Clearing his throat, “Yes an ultrasound machine. It uses sound waves to produce an image on a screen, allowing us to see the baby.”

Being muggle, of course Hermine had heard of ultrasound machines, but her men had not. Theo’s voice was deep and emanated protectiveness. “What reason would you have to look at a baby inside its mother? Does this machine hurt the baby or the mother?”

Shaking his head the doctor explains. “Well, sometimes we may need to see where the baby is and in what position. It also allows us to see if the baby is developing properly or if there is a medical condition or concern that may need to be addressed. It also lets us see the baby’s sex.”

Draco instantly steps closer to Hermione. His alpha protectiveness now joining the party. “Do you think there’s something wrong with the babies?”

Arianna reached for the blonde, “No Draco, I don’t think there is anything wrong with the babies, or Hermione. I do think we should let Dr. Atwood use his machine to see how the babies are doing and maybe we will be able to get some answers as to what has caused Hermione’s most recent developments.”

Knowing that the room is warded for privacy but wanting a moment alone with her wizards, “Could you please step over there. I want to cast a notice me not and a muffliato charm so I can speak to Draco and Theo.” Both doctor and healer move closer to the door and begin talking between themselves. Hermione looks to Draco, “Will you cast, I don’t know how well my magic is working right now.”

Kissing her nose and using his wand he speaks the words necessary to cast the spells. The second they are ‘alone’ the little witch exhales and all her Gryffindor courage melts away. Safely with her men, she is able to be the scared expectant mother. Seeing the fear in her eyes, Theo wraps her in his arms, “We’ve got you Kitten.”

The second Draco’s arms joined Theo’s, she began to cry. “What if something is wrong? What if the babies are…” She couldn’t finish her question.

Draco’s lips find hers. “Shhh. The babies are fine.”

When Draco’s lips move they are replaced by Theo’s. His kiss harder, controlling. Pushing his strength into her. “Our babies are perfect, just like their mother.” Taking her chin between his thumb and forefinger, he tipped her head to look deep into her eyes. You are fucking Hermione Granger.” Kiss “You are the strongest witch I know.” Kiss “The Gryffindor Princess.” Kiss “The mother of the heirs to the ancient houses of Malfoy, Black and Nott.”

Draco jumps in, “You, our babies, and our family are going to be just fine. Dr. Atwood will use his muggle ‘sound’ machine to see the babies, and we will put these worries out of your mind.”

Hiccupping, the little witch, wiped her tears, as Theo handed her a glass that he filled with water. Drinking down the contents, she handed it back to him. “Thank you.” Looking from blue to grey. “I’m better. I just needed that moment to be weak.”

Draco’s voice was stern. “Taking a moment to be emotional about this situation and worrying about our babies does not make you weak. You are allowed to be emotional; Theo and I are here to be your strength. We are a family and you are ours.”

Theo peppered her neck with kisses and whispered in her ear, “Breath Kitten. We are going to let Dr. Atwood and Arianna use their muggle machine and we are going to see our babies and then we will know more.”

Leaning into them for strength, Draco forgot and kissed the top of her head and promptly swore when his lips were shocked from the sparks of magic. “Fuck. That is the first thing we’re going to have to rectify.”

Theo laughed, “Well it will make holding her head while fucking her mouth a whole new experience.” this crude comment caused the little witch to laugh.

When their witch was ready Draco canceled the charms and Arianna and Dr. Atwood joined them. Hermione spoke first. “Let’s do the ultrasound and make sure the babies are fine.”

Arianna nodded, “Andrew can we use the floo to go to your muggle office, or can you bring the machine here? I know that it’s hard to integrate muggle electronics within the magical world.”

Draco spoke up, “George Weasley has been able to convert the manor’s wards to allow us to use muggle electronic equipment. We have a sound system integrated throughout the entirety of the grounds and we have a media room to watch muggle movies.”

Dr. Atwood shook his head, “Technically we are not allowed to go to my muggle office. The program guidelines require witches to be examined in a magical setting. I think it all has to do with the secrecy of the magical world.” Looking at Draco, “I could get my machine and set it up in the manor since you already have the ability to use muggle electronics.”

Arianna nodded, “I think that is the best option we have.” Looking to the triad, “I also want to ask if you would mind if I consulted with Narcissa. Her knowledge of magical bonds is superior to mine.”

Both wizards looked to the little witch. “It’s your call Sweetheart.” Without hesitation, Hermione nodded her head in agreement.

Dr. Atwood clapped his hands together. “Arianna would you accompany me to my office. We could floo back here and then to the manor.”

Draco, Theo and Hermione stepped through the floo in the main entry. Before they even got their footing Draco shouted, “Mopsy.” The little elf appeared, but he didn’t give her the opportunity to speak, “Where is Mistress?”

“She is at Master Belby’s. She is…”

“Get her.” The little elf didn’t say another word, she just popped out. As they headed to the game room, He shouted, “Tipsy.”

The elf popped in. “Yes Master.”

“Please get Miss something to eat and drink. Oh and Tipsy herbal tea only.” Draco was taking charge. Hermione wasn’t really hungry, but she didn’t argue, he needed to take control and she did need to eat. The elf popped out.

When they entered the game room, Hermione realized she was still dressed in just a sheet. Theo saw her looking at the sheet and called her robes from their room. Once she was more presentable, she sat on the sofa, Theo walked to the bar and poured both he and Draco each a firewhiskey. Just as he handed the glass to his wizard, Tipsy appeared with several trays floating around her, they were laden with food and drink.

Mopsy appeared in the doorway with Narcissa. The older witch took one look at Hermione and rushed to her side. Taking the younger witch’s hand, “What’s happened?” concern evident in her voice.

Theo spoke as he poured the women herbal tea. “This morning her hair was sparking while she was sleeping. It shocked both Dra and I.”

Draco nodded his head at Hermione adding, “The next thing we noticed was her skin was glowing.” Seeing the worry on his mother’s face he added, “While I believe her glowing just adds to how gorgeous she is, I don’t think this is normal or common. We have already been to see Dr. Atwood and Arianna joined us.”

Narcissa listened and then turned to Hermione, “Are you okay?”

“Yes.”

“Does anything hurt or feel off?”

“No.”

“Do the babies feel okay? No pain or discomfort?”

“The babies feel fine. I started to feel little flutters a few days ago but Dra and Theo couldn’t feel anything. I’m not in any pain.”

Draco noticed, the little witch seemed to hold tighter to his mother. He was so grateful that she was there to comfort her. “Mum, Arianna thinks this is due to the triad magic.” He watched as his mother reached up and tentatively touched a strand of Hermione’s hair. Then she promptly pulled her hand away, rubbing the tip of her finger with her thumb. “That’s what happened to us too. Hermione is the only one that is able to touch her hair.”

Narcissa wiped a tear off the younger witch’s cheek. “There. There Darling. It’ll be fine.”

Theo sat on the foot stool across from the sofa. “Mum, have you ever heard of this before. Is this our magic?”

Shaking her head, “I assume Arianna wanted me here because she thinks I’ll be able to shed some light on the situation.” Hermione nodded. “Well I don’t know if it helps but all the reading I’ve done regarding special bonds does indicate that magic can manifest itself in any number of ways. Nothing I’ve read said those ways would be dangerous to the witches or wizards that are involved.” Pausing “But if this is something related to the babies, I just don’t know.”

Draco paced the floor, “Arianna thinks it might be the babies magic. It’s just speculation but she thinks they might be developing their magic because of the triad bond.” Seeing the concern on his mother’s face he pushes on, “Dr. Atwood is bringing a muggle machine here to check the babies.”

Narcissa took a sip of her tea, “Is he using an ultrasound machine?”

Three sets of eyes turned to her, curiosity alite in them. Theo spoke first, “How do you know about ultrasound machines?”

Putting her cup down, “Theo Love, you didn’t think my sons would be having children with a muggle born, while utilizing muggle born pregnancy and birth techniques and I wouldn’t find out all that I could about the process. Did you?”

Hermione laughed, “We should have called you first.”

“No you were right going to the doctor and for calling Arianna.” Then worry flashed in her eyes. “Did anyone else in the clinic see you or learn about your condition?”

The younger witch once again put a protective hand over her little belly. “No. Draco, Theo and I went to the private exam room that Theo insisted we have built.” When Narcissa looked confused she went on. “Theo and Draco were worried that someone would find out about our triad magic and put the babies and I in danger. So, he insisted that a room be dedicated to the Malfoy/Black/Nott heirs. The next thing I know my appointments are being held in a private exam room.”

Draco sat next to his little witch. “Yes well you sure gave us quite a bit of shit about how pretensions we looked. That you are no more important than any other pregnant witch out there.”

Theo touched the other man’s knee. “We all know that’s bullshit. You are the most important pregnant woman out there. Your magic is special. Your circumstances are special. Your babies are special. Now aren’t you happy we insisted on the private room.’

Mashing her lips together, rather than telling them that they are arrogant asses, she smiled, “Yes Theo I am very happy you both insisted. I really love the room and appreciate your gift. “

He leaned forward and kissed her lips, “That’s a good Kitten. You’re very welcome.”

Draco jumped to his feet. Feeling the wards adjust to accept their guests. Looking to Theo, “I’ll go get them set up in the small library off of my study. You stay with her and make sure she eats. Mum would you come with me? I’m sure Arianna would like to talk to you.”

Narcissa made to stand, then stopped, “Hermione is it okay that I speak to Arianna about your medical concerns and condition?”

The little witch nodded. “Of course.”

After a few bites of the food Tipsy provided, Theo and Hermione joined the others in the small library attached to Draco’s study. Dr. Atwood and Arianna had set up a table and the muggle machine. Hermione was directed to lie on the table and open her robes. Dr. Atwood informed them, “I’m not sure that we will be able to see the babies with a belly scan. This early in the pregnancy we might still need to use a vaginal wand.”

Theo and Draco both stepped toward the man. The raven haired wizard spoke, his voice edged in a menacing tone. “Excuse me? What kind of wand?”

Dr. Atwood clarified. “Because of there being two, the babies might still be too small or positioned in such a way that the machine won’t be able to pick up their images. So, we would have to insert a wand, up into Hermione’s vagina, the wall of the uterus is thinner and therefore it would allow us to get a clearer picture.” Looking at the rather upset and angry expressions on the two men’s faces, he quickly added, “But let’s just see what we can see with the abdominal wand.”

Draco crossed his arms, “Yes. Lets.” All three witches laughed.

Hermione hurriedly added, “If you need to use the vaginal wand, you do what you need to do to see the babies. Don’t you mind these two protective snakes.”

Realizing they were properly chastised, both men relaxed their stance. “Of course do what you need to.” Draco acquiesced.

Hermione held her breath as the gel was put on her stomach, she looked at her men, not the machine. They, however, were intently watched the machine screen. The doctor moved the wand around and around and the room filled with a rhythmic wooshing sound along with different thumping noises. Dr. Atwood smiled, “Those are your babies heartbeats.” He kept moving the wand around. “I’m sorry I’m not able to see anything with this. I will need to use the other wand.” Hermione smiled, realizing he didn’t want to say vaginal wand, worried about angering the wizards again.

He wiped her stomach, cleaning off the gel. “Arianna? Could you help me alter the table.” The witch used her wand to transform the table so that it had two leg stirrups. Then she produced a blanket to cover the little witch up for her modesty. Both her men stood next to her, Narcissa was near her head and Arianna was next to Dr. Atwood. He covered the wand with a clear ‘wand condemn’ and put a generous amount of gel on the tip, then slid it inside her. When she felt it push in as far as it would go they heard the babies heartbeats again. Their sound, once again, filling the room. Again, she looked at her men. They looked at the screen.

Theo’s hand tightened its grip. “Is that…?” Draco’s smile lit up the room. She finally looked at he screen.

Dr. Attwood spoke. “There they are.” They saw two black voids, each with a tiny form inside. “Two babies. Two separate amniotic sacs.”

Theo swallowed the lump in his throat. “I can see their little feet and hands.”

Draco, his voice soft, “Their profile, look at their little noses.” Then concern, “What is that near their middle?”

Hermione smiled, “I think that’s their hearts.” Dr. Attwood confirmed her conclusion. Theo bent and kissed her, “Our babies. Those are our babies.” The trio laughed. Narcissa sniffled, a tear sliding down her face. Draco’s concern. “Mum?”

“I’m fine my Dragon. I’m fine. I just never thought I would…” Her voice broke. Then she leaned down and kissed Hermione’s cheek. “Thank you. Thank you for so many things. Since you became part of this family, your magic, your knowledge, your gifts have healed me in so many ways. And you are giving me the gift of grandchildren.”

Hermione wiped her own tears away. “Thank you for taking me and making me part of your family.”

Theo cleared his throat, “Dr. Attwood, are the babies okay?”

After a few minutes of him moving the wand around, allowing different angles of the babies to appear on the screen. He nodded his head. “The babies seem perfect. Their amniotic sacs look good, their fluid looks sufficient.” He reaches for the monitor and pushes a few buttons, paper begins to come out of a slot. “They are both moving.” He withdraws the wand and the screen goes black. “As far as muggle pregnancies, you and the babies are all in perfect condition.” Turning to Arianna, “Her current condition is all magical.”

Once the witch was all cleaned up and put to rights, they reconvened in the parlor. When she entered her hair had stopped sparking and her skin was returning to normal. Arianna couldn’t shed any light on the situation. So they concluded that it was a magical triad ‘thing’ and hoped there wouldn’t be a repeat experience.

Narcissa noticed Mopsy and Tipsy standing in the doorway of the parlor, both of the little elves were wringing their hands. “Mopsy. Tipsy. Come here.”

Both little elves obeyed their mistress. Mopsy spoke, “Yes Mistress?”

Mistaking their current state as concern for Hermione and the babies, Narcissa said, “Miss will be fine. The babies will be fine.”

Mopsy nodded her head, “Yes. Mopsy and Tipsy know.”

Draco cleared his throat, “What do you mean you know?”

Mopsy nodded, “The babies are…”

Tipsy smiled, “…connected.”

All eyes turned to the little kitchen elf. Draco fell to a knee, “Connected? What do you mean connected?”

Mopsy nodded her head. “We see the bond. We see the bond finally connected to Masters.”

Arianna spoke next, her tone excited. “Elf magic. Oh my gods why didn’t we realize earlier. Elf magic is different. They have the ability to see bonds. Mopsy what do you see?”

The little elf smiled. “Mopsy sees the magic silver ribbon bond between Masters and Miss. Mopsy sees the magic white ribbon bond between babies and Miss.” She begins to jump up and down and clapping her little hands. “Mopsy can now see the red ribbon. The red ribbon is so pretty.”

Narcissa’s hands went to her chest. “Mopsy, what is the red ribbon bond?”

The little elf looked up to Draco, Theo and Hermione. Tears shining in her eyes. “The babies magic bond to Masters.”

Arianna asked, “Was the red ribbon bond not there before?”

Tipsy smiled, “Not a ribbon, but a whisper of smoke. Sometimes, if Masters were near Miss, the smoke would reach out and try to touch them. But now the ribbon…”

Mopsy jumps in, “…the ribbon is full and strong. It reaches out and wraps around Masters. The babies magic bond connects to Masters.” Once again the little elf begins to clap. Then she shouts, “Hippy. Jack.”

The two male elves appear, “What is it?”

Tipsy grabs Hippy and kisses him, “Look.” She points to the trio.

Hippy and Jack gasp in unison. Jack shouts “Finally. The bond has connected.”

Narcissa asks. “Mopsy, do you always see a red bond connecting the babies to the father?”

The little elf shakes her head. “Babies don’t connect until after they are born.”

Hermione spoke now, “Never? They never connect while still inside the mother?”

Mopsy’s eyes go big, and she shouts, “Tulip”

Her sister pops in. “Mopsy I must get Teddy ready for…” her eyes go wide when she looks at the trio. “The bond. The bond is formed. But it cannot.”

Mopsy turns to Narcissa, “Tulip knows more. She is nurse elf. She has seen more and more baby bonds. She is always with babies and she is always at hospitals.”

Hermione asks her question again, this time directed to Tulip, “Mopsy said that she has never seen a red bond form between a father and baby before the baby is born.”

Tulip nods her head, “Mopsy is right. Mopsy tells the truth. Only way bond like that can form is VERY VERY strong magic. Masters, Miss. You must hide this magic.” Then as if just realizing something, her little hand shoots to her mouth and she gasps, “TRIAD. Protect the babies.”

Narcissa, waves her wand, casting a locking ward. No one can leave. Hermione grabs Theo’s hand as Draco jumps up, “Mother what are you doing?”

Narcissa begins to pace. “Draco, we’ve known that the three of you are powerful on your own. We’ve known that the bond linking you is strong and your magic magnified because of the triad bond. Your children having magic, prior to birth will make Hermione a target. A target to every dark witch or wizard out there looking to replace…” she doesn’t finish. She doesn’t have to.

Theo shakes his head, “How? The babies aren’t even born yet. Hermione isn’t just going ‘help’ a dark wizard.”

Narcissa grabs her stomach, hugging herself. Looking to Arianna for help in explaining what she means. The other woman thinks for a moment, then realizes. “Their blood. The babies blood can be used to strengthen other’s magic.”

Hermione finally speaks up, “Really? We are back to a fucking blood issue?”

Arianna shakes her head and guides the younger woman to sit, “Your blood is enhanced due to the pregnancy and the babies you are carrying. Your magic is enhanced because of the bond with Draco and Theo. But the babies blood and magic is pure triad. Created and developed solely because of the magic between the three of you. The babies have formed a bond between them. You chose to carry both blood lines together. This ‘completes’ the triad. Both babies developing and growing together connected the magic and made their blood pure triad.”

Mopsy, Tipsy, Jack, Hippy and Tulip all nod their heads.

Hermione looks to the healer, “If we would have chose to carry them individually, they wouldn’t be developing their magic?”

Arianna shakes her head, “I can’t say for sure, but I think so. I think having both bloodlines together inside you, allowed the magic to flourish and evolve.”

Draco turns to them, “Can you elves see it?”

All five elves nod their heads. “Yes.”

He holds up a muggle picture of the babies that Dr. Andrew took from the muggle machine. “Do you see a bond ribbon here?”

Again all five nod their head. “Yes.”

Theo, his arm protectively around Hermione, “What does it look like?”

Tulip holds the picture in her little hands, and studies it. Smiling up at Theo, “Babies have a gold ribbon bonding them. They are connected to each other.”

Arianna interrupts, “Since you are carrying them together, the triad magic has created within you a very powerful magic, and what I can only assume two very powerful children.” As if something just occurred to her, “Hermione you were sleeping when your condition manifested this morning?”

“Yes.”

“What were you dreaming about?” Arianna inquired.

“I don’t see what that has to do with anything.” Draco growls.

Arianna waves her hand, “I have a suspicion. Please answer the question.”

Hermione bites her lip, thinking. Theo pulls her lip from between her teeth. “What’s wrong Kitten? What were you dreaming about?”

The little witch looks to the floor. “You have to understand, sometimes, just sometimes I still get bad dreams. Not really dreams but nightmare memories. I had one last night.”

Draco felt a knot form inside him. “What - What did you dream?”

Shaking her head, “I don’t remember.”

Draco walked to her, gripping her chin and tipping her face so grey eyes were locked to brown. “What did you dream Sweetheart?”

Tears begin to fall. Shaking her head again, “That day in the bathroom, when Harry… Your blood was everywhere. If Snape hadn’t got there in time.”

The wizard drops down on his haunches, and cups her face. “But he did Sweetheart. He did. He got there and he helped me, he healed me.”

In my dream, he didn’t. He didn’t get there in time. He didn’t heal you. You… you…” She begins to sob.

Draco’s arms hold her tight. “Shhh. It’s all over. He did get there. I’m safe. I’m right here with you, and Theo and our babies.” Peppering kisses on her cheeks, remembering their conversation the other night before their bath.

Arianna watches the scene in front of her. Theo is sitting next to Hermione and Draco. She catches his eye, then whispers, “Hug them.”

Curious as to why, he leans in and the moment his arms are around his loves, all three begin to glow and static electricity surrounds them.

‘SHIT” The triad shouted all together.
