Day 20 - Mistletoe
Aaron knew that he had never been the most physically, or even remotely the most verbally affectionate person in the world. His position with the BAU and experiences had forced him to harden his heart but even before then he had always come off as a bit stand offish despite never being his intent. That never meant he did not care about the people around him, or the people closest to him. He simply chose certain ways to express how Aaron felt in ways that he knew they would be able to understand, for that, Aaron felt thankful.
However, when it came to Christmas traditions, it would have been a lie to say that the Hotchner family did not have any.
What he had not been expecting had been the mistletoe hang up in the air above him. The mischievous grin sitting on Sirius's face with wiggled eyebrows waiting patiently.
Tradition was tradition after all.
Probably that's why Aaron pulled Sirius against him and pressed their lips together in a gentle kiss, allowing his arms to wrap around the man's waist standing beneath for what felt like an eternity. Indulging in Sirius's touch, his taste and even the masculine smell from the man.
"Well," Sirius murmurs against his lips. "That was a greeting."
Aaron snorts with a faint smile. "It was. Good to know I haven't lost my touch. And," He glances at his watch. "We still have time before the kids come home."
Sirius immediately leading him upstairs leading his boyfriend upstairs. Perhaps, this was a new tradition that Aaron could not wait to add.
