Summary
Harry just wanted to find Platform 9 and three quarters. He had no intention to get involved in a supposed custody fight between two families. But what can one do when they make friendship with a weird Weasley boy who likes to race?

Harry glanced around the station confused over what to do next. Hagrid just up and disappeared on him with the mysterious message of finding platform 9 and three quarters at King Cross's station. He just found out he was a wizard one week back for God's sake. How is he supposed to magically know the information that Hagrid is alluding to? The train conductor had looked at him with suspicious eyes, when he questioned regarding the platform. And he found no one who even remotely looks similar like the people at Leaky Cauldron. Wondering, whether he will actually end up missing out on the train, he stops when he hears an irritated voice say "Mr. Hobbs, you know that the wizarding world does not allow Muggles to enter the railway station. It's a matter of safety after all."

Turning around, he spies a woman looking at a man with a very strong physique with an irritated expression. Inspite of the strength clearly displayed by his strong physique, the woman showed no fear instead holding on to the arm of the boy. The boy surprisingly was looking at her with a rebellious expression but leaning comfortably on another man dressed in a tailored suit, whose hand was on his shoulder. The boy was trying to tug his arm away from the woman, but the woman only seemed to tighten her grip more so. While the man who Harry saw was dressed in a tight military shirt and what looked like cargo pants, tried to negotiate with the woman, the man in the suit simply flicked his two fingers against her hand. She cried out in pain and released the boy's arm, who started rubbing on it as if trying to start the blood circulation. The woman snapped "Mr. Shaw" while the man said in an exasperated voice "Deck." Deck simply looked calmly at Mr. Hobbs, and said "She was holding on too tightly."

Harry seriously didn't want to interfere in what looked like family drama, but since these were the only people who knew about the wizarding world, he had to take a chance. Directing the trolley in their direction, he went up to them and said, "Excuse me." Harry felt his courage falter under 3 glares while the red-haired, freckled boy looked on curiously. He stuttered "9... and three quarters?" The woman gave a smile and said "First year student dear. Don't worry our Ron is also in first year. We can go together. Come along Ron."

Ron turned to glare at the woman. Taking Deck's watch, he looked at the time and said "I have 10 minutes before I come with you. Leave me alone." The woman's eyes showed a flash of hurt before she smoothed it out by saying "But Ron, Fred, George and Ginny wanted to talk with you. Why don't you come and say your goodbyes to Ginny, before you board the Hogwarts express?" Ron looked conflicted now. Blurting out the first excuse that comes to mind, Harry said "Why don't we go and freshen up before we go to the platform?" Ron looked at him confused, while Deck said "Good idea. Give us 5 minutes Mrs. Weasley."

Before Mrs. Weasley could say anything, Deck stirred the boys towards the men's washroom. As soon as they entered the washroom, Ron's eyes lit up on seeing two men already standing there. He yelled "Dad, Pops". Rushing towards them, he was instantly swept up in a hug by the blonde-haired man, while the man with smooth head hugged both of them. Deck and Harry stood silently on the side, giving them their private moments. Deck asked, "How did you know that these 2 were coming to meet Ron?" Harry said "I didn't. I spied them looking at us. I saw you indicating towards the men's washroom. That is why I made up the excuse. I figured, the excuse coming from me would look less suspicious, since I am a stranger." Deck looked at him carefully. Harry felt he was being sized up and approved. Deck then said, "Welcome to the family kiddo."

Those words shocked Harry out of his thoughts, and he turned to demand what Deck had meant. But before he could frame the question, Ron had finished his conversation with both of his fathers. Bringing Ron to Deck, both the men looked conflicted. Deck simply said "We have all got the owls Dom. Even so, we have devised 5 different ways of communications and briefed Ron about it. He knows not to stay out of touch. Right Ron?" Ron solemnly nodded his head. He looks at the two men and said, "You will not fix the car without me, right?" The blonde-haired man gave a chuckle and said, "Whose kid are you: Mine or Pops?" Ron brightly said as if it was a habit "Both of you. You are both equally made about this. Oh... I bet with Hector that you both will win the next 10 races. So don't race against each other please. My college fund depends on it."

Waving goodbye, Ron came to stand beside Deck and Harry. Coming out of the washroom, Harry saw that Mrs. Weasley was now glaring suspiciously at Deck, who looked at her with a smooth expression. From there, Hobbs and Deck handed him and Ron to her. They talked with Ron's little sister and two elder brothers actually three. Finally, they boarded the Hogwarts Express. As they settled in their compartment, Harry heard Ron say, "Thank you." Harry simply looked at Ron. Holding out his hand, Ron said " I didn't get to properly introduce myself. I am Ronald Bilius Dominic Brian Weasley-O'Conner-Toretto." Harry stared at Ron for a long moment and in the next second, simply shook the hand by saying "My name is short by the way. I am Harry Potter."
