Chapter 1

arry approached 4 Privet Drive's driveway, gazing at the house for a moment. It stood proudly, a modernised two-story home that embraced everyone but him. Harry often wondered what he did to deserve a family like the Dursleys'. They weren't even his parents, they were his aunt and uncle – but that didnt stop them from their mistreatment towards Harry. There was Uncle Vernon - quite a large man with not so much neck, very unlike his wife, Aunt Petunia, a frail, bony woman with what seemed to be twice as much neck. And then there was Dudley - a horizontally challenged boy who had twice the stomach yet barely half a brain. Despite Dudley's pronounced lack of intelligence and unique girth for a nine-year-old, the Dursleys considered him their prized possession. Then there was Harry – a mere excuse for free child labour in their eyes. With a deep breath, Harry pushed open the door, only to be met by the heavy stomps towards him. Footsteps of none other than his uncle, and by the look of this, he knew no good was about to happen for him.

"BOY. IN THE SITTING ROOM. NOW!" Uncle Vernon boomed with rage – signalling trouble, and Harry knew he was in for a rough encounter.

The door closed behind him as Harry trailed his uncle into the sitting room, his heart palpitating with fear and worry. There, he found Aunt Petunia cradling Dudley, who seemed to be distressed. "It's okay, Duddykins. He'll get punished. Don't worry, darling," she murmured to Dudley, leaving Harry perplexed about the unfolding situation.

"Do you think you're some smartass?" Uncle Vernon hissed, his anger visible.

"N-no, Uncle. I d—" Harry's defence was cut short as he felt the familiar sting of his uncle's hand.

"Don't lie to me, you freak! Keep your mouth shut unless you want me to backhand you again. I know you suck up to your teachers, getting all the good grades, making our Duddykins look like a fool!" Mr. Dursley bellowed, with Dudley smirking in the background – a typical scheme to land Harry in trouble, of course. He should've known.

"You're moving up to the attic now. That'll teach you to think twice before acting all smart. Dudley's old toys will be there now, anyway. If I catch you pulling a stunt like that again, you'll get more than a backhand next time. I'm warning you, Boy!"

"I'm sorry, Uncle," Harry murmured, raising his hand to his cheek in an attempt to mask his pain as best as he could. Although this was a daily occurance, the hurt remained.

"Go move your stuff and make it quick. You're going to move Dudley's things into the cupboard."

After placing Dudley's old toys in the cupboard, Harry headed to the attic. It was a struggle, requiring him to pull himself up since the ladder fell short, highlighting his physical challenges. Once inside, Harry flicked on the light, revealing a surprisingly improved space compared to his former "room." It was more expansive and even had a window, which he considered an upgrade. The challenge, however, was cleaning it.

Twenty minutes later, Harry had made significant progress. All that remained was setting up the bed. Picking up the blankets and spreading them on the floor, he focused on neatening the edges and corners, determined to make the best of his new room.

As Harry continued to arrange his newfound sanctuary in the attic, he noticed an old, dusty book tucked away in a corner. Intrigued, he carefully picked it up, revealing a worn cover that seemed to hold untold secrets. The title, faded with age, read, "The Enchanted Legacy: A Guide to the Magical Realm."

His curiosity piqued and Harry opened the book to its first page. The yellowed parchment revealed an elegant script, and he began to read:

'"Dear Harry,

If you are reading this, then the time has come for you to learn about the extraordinary legacy that runs through your veins. With love,

Mum and Dad."

Harry turned the page and indeed, a letter was attached to it.

"Mr. H Potter,

The Attic,

4 Privet Drive,

Little Whinging,

Surrey"

It knew that Harry was no longer in the cupboard under the stairs and in the attic? Harry was intrigued, his mind filled with questions as he turned the envelope around. It was a plain envelope, with a scarlet seal which showed what seemed to be a shield. Each quarter showing some sort of animal, all with a "H" stamped perfectly in the middle. The label above the shield read "Hogwarts".

Eager to learn more, Harry opened the letter. It was written with elegance, with words that read

"Dear Mr. Potter,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Students shall be required to report to the Chamber of Reception upon arrival, the dates for which shall be duly advised.

Please ensure that the utmost attention be made to the list of requirements attached herewith

We very much look forward to receiving you as part of the new generation of the Hogwarts heritage.

Yours sincerely,

Professor McGonogall,

Deputy Headmaster at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry"

Harry's eyes widened as he absorbed the words on the page. The revelation about his magical heritage explained so much and opened up a realm of possibilities beyond the confines of the Dursleys' home. The attic, once a mere refuge, now held the promise of a magical journey. To make the revelation better, this was left by his parents. Harry had had doubts about who his parents really were - his questions were always left unanswered due to the strict 'No Asking Questions' rule emplaced by the Dursleys. But now, he had finally gotten an insight about them.

Eager to learn more, Harry delved further into the book, turning page after page, discovering the rich history, spells, and enchantments that awaited him. And for the first time, Harry felt a sense of belonging to a world that had been concealed from him for far too long.

As Harry delved deeper into "The Enchanted Legacy," he uncovered the illustrious history of his family—the Potters. Page after page revealed the Potter lineage's storied past, tracing back through centuries of magical feats and influential figures within the wizarding world. The realisation dawned upon him that he was part of a family that held not only a rich history but also significance in wealth and power.

The book revealed the past of his ancestors who were renowned for their magical prowess, innovative spellcraft, and contributions to magical society. His great-great-grandparents were instrumental in establishing magical institutions, and his lineage included accomplished witches and wizards who left an unforgettable mark on magical history.

It wasn't just about wealth and influence; the Potters were known for their commitment to justice, defending the magical world against the dark forces. Many of his ancestors had played memorable roles in battles against dark wizards, earning the family a reputation for courage and resilience.

Harry's astonishment grew with every revelation, realising that the attic was now, in fact, a treasure trove of his magical inheritance, and became a symbol of his magical birthright . His parents, a key figure in this legacy, had left him not just a book but a guide to reclaiming his birthright as a Potter.

With newfound determination, Harry absorbed the knowledge bestowed upon him by "The Enchanted Legacy." He discovered that he was the heir to a substantial fortune, including an ancestral home and magical properties. The Potters' estate, long thought to be lost, awaited its rightful heir. Harry couldn't fathom the magnitude of his newfound status – the riches, the influence, and the responsibility that came with being a Potter.

Harry envisioned a future beyond the Dursleys, a life where he would embrace his legacy and contribute to the magical world in ways he never dreamed possible. The attic's window, once a simple opening, now framed a view of a magical world that awaited his return.

Fueled by the knowledge imparted by the book, Harry's perspective shifted. No longer remained as the role of an unwanted nephew, he saw himself as the heir to a powerful and influential magical family. The journey into the book had not only revealed the secrets of his lineage but had set in motion a destiny that would reshape the course of Harry Potter's life in ways he could never have imagined.

Three years passed in a blur of magical discovery for Harry. Each day brought new revelations from "The Enchanted Legacy." From simple spells to the art of wandless magic, the book became Harry's constant companion, a source of wisdom hidden away in the sanctuary of the attic. Harry's so-called 'punishment' transformed into a magical haven where Harry practised and perfected his newfound skills.

With each passing day, Harry delved into the secrets of the magical world, learning spells that illuminated his path to becoming a skilled wizard. The book became a teacher, guiding him through the use of wandless magic, and the essence of this magical energy. All the while, Harry concealed this newfound side of him from the Dursleys.

Harry had perfected the simple spells, like being able to clean, rearrange, and organise with just a simple swish of his finger, or being able to fix his glasses with the simple phrase 'Oculus Reparo' – this came in handy whenever Dudley occasionally came to the attic for the sole purpose of being a nuisance to his cousin. Though Dudley thought that his actions caused great annoyance to Harry, it in fact made him pleased knowing that his magical abilities were being perfected, all without the knowing of the Dursleys.

However, the Dursleys rarely entered into the attic, leaving Harry with plenty of time and space to explore the depths of magical knowledge. The routine became a juggle between the mundane and the extraordinary, with school days blending into afternoons of practising spells and perfecting wandless magic.

Despite the challenges he faced at school, where Dudley and his gang continued their bullying antics, Harry found solace in his magical pursuits. Punishments from Uncle Vernon, rather served as a reward to Harry. After all, what did he have to lose? The real education happening in the attic, which was all that mattered to him.

Now, as he stood just streets away from Diagon Alley, his hair tied back in a ponytail, his glasses gone because of the spells he'd mastered, Harry felt a transformation within himself. The once-unwanted nephew had evolved into a wizard on the brink of a new chapter. Diagon Alley awaited him, and the legacy of the Potters pulsed within his veins. With newfound confidence and skills honed in secret, Harry was ready to embrace the world that had been hidden from him for too long.

Harry's physique evolved, and the attic became a crucible for his endurance. The beatings, though painful, became a testament to his newfound strength. The scars left by his uncle's rage were matched by the invisible marks of magical training. Wandless spells, initially challenging, had become second nature to him. The years in the attic allowed him to master all the skills needed so far.

The routine of school, bullying, punishments, and the practise of his newfound discoveries had sculpted a new Harry. No longer the helpless victim, he wore a cloak of calm calculation. His once-innocent eyes now held a spark of purpose, and the scars on his back told tales of resilience.

As he now stood before Gringotts, the bank that held the wealth of the Potters, Harry stood confident and proud. The ponytail complimented and highlighted the sharp angles of his face, and the absence of glasses revealed eyes that held a depth of knowledge beyond his years. His height, a symbol of growth and endurance, towered over the timid boy who once cowered in the cupboard under the stairs.

The magical Britain he entered was not just a place of wonder; it was a stage for the transformation of Harry Potter. Diagon Alley, once a maze of mysteries, now served as a canvas for the wizard who had evolved from the crucible of 4 Privet Drive. Harry stood with purpose - purpose to reclaim and continue The Legacy of the Potters.
