“Uncle pads, Can I ask you something?” Harry asked Sirius as the older man taught him muggle chess.
“Of course Bambi, whats on your mind?” He replied, place his queen in a vulnerable position. Harry noticing made eye contact with his uncle moony. ‘Just let him win.’ The werewolf mouthed to him, not wanting to hear Sirius complain about losing again.
“Um, when dad started liking papa, were you okay with it?” Harry asked as he moved a piece to give his uncle an obvious way to beat his 13-year-old nephew. Remus gave harry a pleased look and the boy beamed with pride at the praise.
“I was perfectly calm, cool and collected. I was just glad that they were happy.” Sirius said lying through his teeth.
“Padfoot don’t lie to the boy.”
“I’m not lying.” Sirius defended. Remus shook his head finally sitting up and patting the seat next to him.
“Come here harry, I’ll tell you how foolish your Uncle Padfoot acted.” Sirius looked shocked.
Your Uncle Padfoot covered prongs’ hair in his own broom-wax. He pouted and grumbled like a four-year-old, he even accused your dad of being a cradle robber.” Remus informed Harry of Sirius’ true behavior.
“What's that?” Harry asked confused.
“A cradle robber? Someone who dates a person significantly younger than themselves.” Remus said with a small chuckle.
“But papa was only a year younger than dad when they were together. Uncle Padfoot, did you and dad stop being friends, for a while, because of papa.” Harry asked looking very concerned.
“Harry, why are you asking so many questions?” Remus asked his interest peaked.
“I, um, I think I like Ron’s sister Ginny, but I don’t want to lose him.” Harry explained.
“AHHHH. Oh, my Merlin. Little Bambi has finally grown up. Wait a minute, what is it with you potter men and being in love with your best friend's sibling?” Sirius exclaimed as the pieces fall into place.
“Prongs! I hope you’re happy. Your son is a cradle robber too.” Sirius called as he left the room to find James and complain.
“Harry, do you really like this girl?” Harry heard his papa call from his spot above the fireplace.
“Of course.” Harry said with a faint smile on his face.
“Then you go get her. Your father is the best thing that happened to me. That’s your job now. Be her rock, be there through it all harry and she will do the same for you. Invite her over I want to meet her.” He said knowing his son is just like his father, caring and sweet but stupid and a bit thick.
“Thank you, uncle moony. Do you think Ron and I will be ok?” Harry asked.
“If Ron is a friend like Sirius, loyal to a fault, you’ll both be fine.” Remus said as he watched his husband fuss at his best friend.
“Now go get your uncle Wormtail, before lily’s food gets cold.”
