The marauders and Regulus arrive at Potter Manor where Mrs Potter was already waiting with tea and biscuits. "Oh merlin get in boys your drenched through, Regulus is that blood?" Mrs Potter ushered the teens into the house guiding Regulus to the couch who was leaning heavily on his brother. Mr Potter came into the main room to see hat the commotion was about only to see the younger black brother laying on the couch bleeding from a small cut on his forehead. Without a second though Sirius sat on the couch next to his brother lifting his head up to rest on his thighs like Regulus id when they were younger a sense of normality for the brothers after all the black family were not known for looking out for their heirs. After a few hours the black brothers had fell asleep Sirius holding Regulus close wrapping a protective arm around his younger brother as if to protect him from any more harm their parents could inflict on the younger boy.
The nextday.
Regulus woke up alone but could still smell Sirius he rubbed his eyes a bit more to see that his brother had wrapped him in his leather jacket that Remus got him for his sixteenth birthday, putting it on fully he walked out of the main room to the kitchen where he could hear his brother's voice. "Reggie your up." Sirius said walking up to his brother to pull him into a hug but the younger black just hugged into his chest inhaling the familiar smell of colane and grease. "I'm making my famous French toast if you would like some" Remus said calmly careful not to spook the very tired boy, Regulus nodded smiling at the taller boy, Remus returned the smile and added some more bread to the pot and enchanted it to make a batch of French toast while pouring juice and coffee for the group. The group talked about everything and nothing from their favourite lessons top their least favourite teacher. "Mum and dad left to visit my mum's sister in India so I have the whole house to myself until we go back to Hogwarts for our final year and well your second last year Regulus." James said as he picked up the toast from the pot putting it on the table. "Can I stay here?" James looked up from what he was doing seeing Regulus looking at him begging, James nodded he had planned for the boy to live with them anyways.
Time skip to a couple hours later
Sirius had went on a date with Remus leaving James and Regulus alone together, they hadn't really talked without Sirius being there before so it was a bit awkward James was the first person to break the silence "Are you trying out for quidditch again this year?" Regulus had looked up from picking at his fingers a nervous habit he picked up when he was in a situation he didn't really like but nodded anyways "Yeah, I'm hoping for captain this year but we'll see since it's unlikely they'll pick a sixth year for captain." James nodded not sure what to say when he was about to reply Sirius came in crying with a very annoyed Remus. "Boys what happened?!" Sirius shook his head and ran to his room slamming the door shut with force. "Well Remus? What happened to my brother?" Remus stopped staring at the stair case where his boyfriend had just ran up and took a breath before speaking "Your parents Regulus, they want you home." Regulus looked between Remus and James unable to speak, so he ran up the stairs to his brother's room and opened the door climbing ono the bed hugging into his brother's chest not saying anything but enjoying the comfort.
Remus had enough, and decided to go check on the brothers, when he got to the door he could still hear Sirius crying, but he could also hear Regulus to from his wolf hearing he knocked on the door hearing a muffled come in he opened the door standing in the door way of the room Sirius holding a crying Regulus while crying himself he opened the arm that wasn't around Regulus hinting he wanted Remus to come and join the hug and the taller boy did just that holding both boys as they cried whispering sweet nothings into their ears. After a while they crying had stopped and Regulus had fallen asleep leaving the couple in a comfortable silence. "He's so distraught, at the thought of going back to my parents." Sirius whispered but Remus still heard him, he pulled the shorter boy into his lap not saying anything just holding him close.
After a couple of hours, Regulus was still asleep hugging Sirius' pillow the older black brother had fallen asleep on his boyfriend leaving the taller boy stuck on the bed, he called for James who apparated into the room. "Wow Moony who knew you could actually get them to sleep" James smirked. "Shut up prongs and help me wake them up we need to go to Hogsmeade." James chuckled and cast a spell making alarms go off in every inch of the room waking the brothers up with a fright. "Seriously prongs you couldn't do it any other way?" James looked at Sirius and shook his head playfully sticking out his tongue who just flipped him off. After about half an hour to forty five minutes the group apparated to Hogsmeade heading straight for the three broomsticks.
After a while they all heard a voice. "Regulus. How dare you disobey your mother."
