Shadow awkwardly swung his feet over the side of the couch , waiting for someone to come back. Ozzy came in the room wagging his tail, sitting himself down right next to Shadow, he hesitated before patting the dog's head. Ozzy rubbed his head into Shadow's hand and barked happily.
"He led us to that field." Shadow looked up to the voice that just spoke and saw Tom standing by the couch he was on.
"What?"
"When he showed up without you we all thought it was a little weird but then he started barking and wouldn't stop until we followed him to that field. He saved your life basically."
Shadow took a second to process the words before looking at Ozzy, sitting in the floor, wagging his tail.
"Thank you." Shadow mumbled before fishing a rock from his pockets and holding it out to the dog.
Ozzy stared at it for a second before eating it, it happened in a flash. The dog ate the rock, Tom sprang forward to wrench it out of the dog's mouth and Shadow watched frozen. Tom successfully got the piece of earth from the dog's mouth and set it on the counter. He turned to Shadow and explained that Ozzy will eat anything put in front if him so maybe no more Rocks.
Shadow nodded before fishing through his pockets again, pulling out one of those bland cookies and allowing the dog to eat it.
"Alright!" Sonic yelled as he jumped over the back of the couch and Shadow, falling on the floor face first.
He groaned while pushing himself back up and into a sitting position before perking up and looking at Shadow, "Joline opened the bakery! It's all set up, we have to go!" He was practically shaking with excitement.
"Really that was quick, it was empty just the other day." Knuckles pointed out.
"I dunno how she did it so quick but it's set up!" Sonic cheered.
Tails walked into the room next with a thick choker looking necklace, "If we do decide to go to the bakery then I found this old necklace that should cover the bandages on Shadow's neck pretty well," he turned towards Shadow, "If you don't want anyone looking at it." He held the necklace out for Shadow to grab.
He thought for a second before grabbing it from the fox's hands and And clicked it into place, careful not to aggravate his injuries. It was snug but not tight enough to cut off his air and if seemed to cover the bandages pretty well. "This one is a bit thick so it can cover the bandages but once it heals enough to take the wrap off then we can find a thinner one that only covers the scar left behind." Tails explained while Maddie came back into the room and sat by Tom.
Shadow nodded along while gently touching the material, it was a strange feeling, like a strip of leather with a clip at the back of it but it had like clothe wrapped around it. He was sure it looked ridiculous on him but it was better then nothing.
"Dinner is on it's way then we'll eat and how about we check out the bakery in the morning, I wanna meet this Joline person." Maddie smiled. "Plus I doubt they're open at this time, it's late and they just got it set up." She added
