Regulus opens his eyes slowly to a blurry ceiling. It wasn’t the chandelier of great room where he last had vision or the dark black of his or Siri’s room. He hoped that maybe he had gotten his wish and finally died. His dreamlike state was shook off by a voice.
“Hi mate welcome to the world of the living.” Well fuck of course it was James fucking Potter who had to pull him out of his death.
Regulus whispered “What the fuck is happening? I’m dreaming.”
“Glad to know you dream about me but no.” Regulus blushed a sharp rose color and began to try to draw himself up to a seating position. He felt James gently push him back down.
“Nope I can’t have you passing out on me again.”
“Explain how I ended up here before ...” Regulus didn’t have a whole lot of threats when he couldn’t make it off the couch on his own.
“I don’t know a whole lot more than you. You brother dropped you here with a bag and two letters: one for me and one for you I think he decided it was too unsafe for you.”
“We need to go get him.”
“Absolutely not. He put in his letter to charm the house so you couldn’t go back and get him.”
Of course Siris sent him away. He caused so many fights and never stood up for Siri no wonder his brother didn’t want him. Regulus felt like he was about to cry and the only thing holding him back was James Potter. James realized this and gave Regulus some space , “ I’m going to go get you some clothes and a first aid kit. Don’t try to get up.”
Regulus let a few tears fall gently before whipping them up. Blacks don’t cry. He was just terrified he’d never see Siri alive again. Luckily James interrupted his very rational fears. “I have to check your injuries at some point so would you rather before or after breakfast?”
“Before I guess”
Regulus eyesight had become less blurry but he definitely couldn’t get up into a seated position by himself. James noticed and pulled him up against the pillows. “May I take your shirt off?” Asked James. Regulus nodded and tried to lift his arms as James pulled the shirt off him.
Regulus hated being vuneriblue like this. He was just happy he was wearing a binder and not a sports bra. He knew James knew he was trans but a lot of people stopped see him as a boy as soon as they saw his body. James either didn’t notice or deserved an Emmy. James sized him up and grabbed some pills from a first aid kit and a glass of water. “Take these. Your wounds are magical so I can’t just heal them.” Regulus knew his body probably couldn’t take any magical healing right now anyway. The next hour and a half or so was filled with James painstakingly stitching and disinfecting very cut on Regulus and bandaging his broken wrist.
Once this was done James asks about any other curses he had gotten. Regulus weirdly trusts James Potter. James was a bit like a puppy so he told him about the crucio curses. Too many to count. James looks like he was trying not to pity Regulus but in Regulus’s opinion he was doing a pretty shit job at it. “I can’t do a whole lot for that but you might have some fatigue or odd phantom pain but if that happens please just tell me. You are also definitely concussed so no bright lights or movement and lots of rest.” Regulus nodded. He was too tired to protests James.
Finally James left to go get him breakfast even though it was almost noon. Regulus wanted to crawl into his blankets and stop existing forever.

Is James qualified to patch up reg? God no Would Jame’s mother or father make more sense? Yes but I wanted James to take care of Regulus so . Also I have a tumblr but I can’t figure out how to imbed a link my username is whereiswaldo.
P.S. Side notes: 1. I don’t plan to put explicit smut in here just cause I write really cringey smut 2. I don’t have an update schedule but I’ll try to update every drew weeks. I have adhd so setting a date will make me never update the fic again lol
