Evan-esans
Regulus had slipped away from the group quietly when they left the hospital wing and James had almost forgotten what happened the prior night with Lily Evans until he stepped back into the common room to see her sitting in a arm chair by the fire with a book in her hand. (A wrinkle in time if you were wondering.) her hair was tied up into a knot and her wand with slipped into it. When James and the others entered she looked up.
"Oh hi potter." She said meekly. Mary shot James a disaproving glare. "Hey Evans should we talk." He said nervously scraching his arm.
He lead her to the stairs outside the common room. "Want one?" She asked holding out a cigarette Mary had given her, must be a new habit this year she picked from her friends. James thought.
"No thanks heard they cause cancer." He muttered. She took a deep breath. "I dont really know what to say right now?" She laughed. " I mean you fancied me for 6 years! I could not get a break from you for so long and now that I actually fancy you, you ran off were you nervous? Is there soemone else? What happened did I do something?" She asked.
James looked at her guiltily. "There is...there is someone else," he said reluctantly. Lily paused. "Oh. Can I ask who?" She asked nervously. James gave her a weak smile. "I cant say right now Evans but im sorry I should have made it clear and it was not really offical until last night you know." He tried to explain. Lily get out s sigh and took another drag from her Fag. "Its alright really, i guess im too late." She said sadly.
"Are you angry?" James winced. Lily smiled. "No im not angry." And she really wasn't, there was a part of her that felt like she should be but also a part that knew James was happy and thats all that mattered becides everything happens for a reason so there must be some reason for this, something else, someone else.
The pair set in silence in the empty stair well for a while "Hey lily." James said nervouly his hands sweating and voice cracking. “Yeah James.” She said avoiding his gaze. “Its Reg.” He confessed quietly
Lily froze her mouth slightly a-jar. “Oh james.” He said barley audible. She pulled him closer and hugged him tightly. “Im so happy for you.” She smiled tears forming in her eyes. “Thanks Evans,your first person I told.” He said nervously. Lily wiped the tears of joy from her eyes. “Your secret is safe with me I wont tell anyone.” She promised. “Thanks Evans.” He smiled.
“Want to go inside now they are probably wondering whats keeping us?” She asked standing up. “Yeah probably should.” James agreed.
Lily stoped by the door. “James?”
“Yeah Evans.”
“Thanks for trusting me.” She smiled. “Yeah of course.”
