Chapter 3
The walk was short, he saw what seemed to fit the description the lady told him. He walked up the gravel driveway up a slight hill and saw a green door with grey brick and white walls and green shutters to match the door. ‘This seems right’ James felt as he knocked on the door. He didn't hear anything but James wasn’t going to give up that easily. He saw a car in the driveway so he must be home, he though before walking around the house to the backyard. You could see the sea from it, the yard was covered in green grass and had a picnic table as well as a green house. James looked towards the house and noticed a small circle window on the attic space of the house through it he could make out a head, and a face. James waved as the head disappeared just few moments later he heard a door open beside a barbecue on the house.
“Potter?!” James heard a familiar voice
“Regulus” James said running and hugging Regulus as he fell to the ground.
“What the hell” Regulus spat out as he sat up from the grassy lawn
“Im back, im back Reg, I finally found you” James said holding Regulus’ hand
“What do you mean you found me, was I lost?”
“I've been looking for you since you joined the death eaters, I guess you died, When?”
“Woah, chill out”
“You have some explaining to do Mr. Black” James laughed
“Yeah, well I guess you do too” Regulus said getting up and inviting James in for tea.
The two made their way into the kitchen where Regulus turned on the stove to boil some water and took out some cups. James looked around the house, it was quite a nice place, cozy and had paintings and pictured on the walls in frames.
"Well Reggie, how did you die?" James asked looking at Regulus
"I don't know exactly, I think drowning. I was in a cave trying to destroy the horocrux but i remember being dragged down by something" Regulus answered as he poured the boiling water in the cups
"How long has it been?"
"4 years, I think" Regulus answered as he set the tea bag in the cup.
"you died at 18?" James said quietly "you went missing when you were 17" James said again
"I wan't missing, I Joined the death-eaters, My mother pulled me out of school and forced me to join. I didn't want to. I worked hard finding out about horecruxs' and I found the location of one and I needed to destroy it, To destroy Voldemort... But I failed... as always." Regulus got a little sad after that.
"Does Sirius know?" Regulus asked looking at James.
"He assumed you died. he was... disappointed that you joined.. to the least" James said back and he could see Regulus was upset
"I just wish he knew what I was doing." Reggie whispered as James hugged him again
"He would understand, you were just doing what you thought was best" James comforted him and they sat on the couch together, sipping on there tea.
"How did you die Potter?"
"Voldemort. He came into me and Lily's house and attacked us and Harry" James said
"You got with Lily Evans?"
"Yeah, I'm sorry Reggie. i waited for you to come back but you never did and I-" James was inter upted by Regulus
"I don't care, I knew i'd lose you. I knew what i was doing. If anything i'm sorry. I couldn't even say goodbye in person I left a note like a loser" Regulus said quietly, James could see the tears in his eyes.
"Hey, don't cry. It's all good now. We have eternity" James comforted him and Regulus hugged him and started crying into his shoulder.
"I love you James" Regulus whispered
"I love you too"
"I just missed you so much, you were the only thing that kept me sane, even though we weren't together" Regulus said and he wiped his tears. "You were the reason I lived. I didn't realise how much I loved you until I couldn't see you anymore, I would have given my life to have you back" Regulus said and James held his hand and wiped his tears away.
"We have each other now Reg, just like the old days. Me and Lily aren't together anymore. That's why I came for you"
"I went to France thinking you were there. you once told me that you wanted to have a little cottage in France with a library" James said rubbing Regulus's ear and kissing his head.
"You remembered that?"
"yeah, I also remember that time in you and I snuck into the dark forest and stayed until sunrise "
"do you despise me For leaving, joining the death-eaters. Everything"
"There's nothing to forgive Reg, I've loved you since day one and that won't change" James said and Regulus kissed him.
"I Love you" Regulus whispered
"I Love you" James said kissing Regulus's lips
"It feels so nice, to say that again" Regulus said smiling, and they spent the rest of the night catching up and reminiscing.
