“Do you really have to leave?” Regulus whispered.
“I have to.” His brother responded.
The little ten year old was sitting under the covers in his older brothers bed.
“But I promise to write to you.” His brother said.
“How?” The little boy said.
“I heard that you can send cards with owls there too.”
“Mom won’t be happy if you send letters by owl.”
“She won’t be able to stop me. I’ll be far away.”
The boys had names. Regulus and Sirius was their names. Regulus and Sirius was brothers, and looked nothing like each other. They had the same genes, but still they looked very different.
They both had black hair, sharp features and small noses.
Sirius was a years older, and was eleven, meaning he was going to Hogwarts now. His hair was longer that Regulus hair was. Their mom hated it. It was also him who was the heir to the Black family’s wealth.
Regulus was the younger brother. His hair was shorter, and his features a little less sharper than his brothers.
Tomorrow Sirius would be leaving for Hogwarts, and Regulus would be alone in the house with his parents, and Kreacher, the house elf.
“Do you think they will have flying candles? Like we heard” Regulus asked.
“I hope so.” Sirius replied.
“And talking paintings, like those in the living room. And what about ghost who doesn’t yell at you.”
“I promise to tell you as soon as I find out.”
“Promise?”
“Promise what?”
“Promise to write to me everyday. And that we will always be best friends. Promise me.”
“Pinkie promise”
Regulus then hugged his brother, and his brother hugged him back. What the boys didn’t know, was that this would be their last hug in a long time.
