Chapter 3 - Three years later
December 22nd 1980 - 3:30pm

The past three years flew by, Kaiya was growing into a young child and now more than ever is a mini version of Arthur, but only in appearance. In mind and soul, they are very much like Merlin. It's a few days before Christmas and a day after Kaiya's birthday which falls on the Midwinter solcests which is just another indication of their Warlock heritage. As of now, no further indication has appeared other than the flash of golden in her eyes the day she was born, and to contrary of popular belief Merlin is weirdly relived. Now the is mainly due, because he doesn't want Kaiya, his child, to have to go through the same or similar hardships and heartbreak that he did ; however, Kaiya is still young, there is still time for the Warlock heritage to appear it is this that often created doubt and fear in Merlins mind. But the doesn't mean that if Kaiya were to be like him : Born with magic and his heritage as a Warlock and a Dragon Lord: he would refuse to teach them. Merlin along with Gaius would try to teach her everything that they know and if need Merlin hopes that his child will be accepted to go to Hogwarts and be taught there surrounded by people what have the same powers as she does. He hopes that Gaius can also fulfil the role as Kaiya's guardian if himself, Arthur and Gwen cannot fulfil that role. Gaius can still teach them like Gaius taught him.

Outside Kaiya's House - Back garden that is surrounded by tall dark green bushes that are being heavily dusted by snow, and a street lamp near by is causing some warm golden light to overflow into the garden contrasting with the colder blue light from the moon's reflection and the Christmas fairy lights that decorate the windows on back of the house
Much like the years before now, snow is slowly falling outside creating a pure white blankets as the starts day draw to a close with street lamps starting to illuminate the street as Kaiya, Merlin and Gwaine outside enjoying the snow where as Arthur, Gwen and Gaius are inside either watching the others and they quietly talk in the kitchen that faces the garden.
"DAD" joyfully shouted Kaiya as she ran up to the kitsch door that lead out to the garden "Can I have a carrot", they say, while running into the kitchen, not aware of where they are going as they crash into a tall older figure almost falling back in reaction.
"Kaiya, what did your parents say about running in the house" gently respond the older figure, not actually telling the young child as the rule was there for safety and not for behaviour
"Not to Gaius, but do you have a carrot I can borrow" the young child said quickly. Adding a "Please" on to the end
"Now, why would you want a carrot, unless you're hungry?" respond Gaius slightly chuclking at the end
"No, Im not hungry, its a nose for a snow man that me rather and Uncle Gwaine built " Kaiya said.
"Ahh, that makes sense now" the elder said as he walked over to the fridge and handed a small carrot to Kaiya
"THANK YOU" Kaiya shouted as they ran back out to the Garden
Once Kaiya reached Merlin and Gwaine she happily presented the carrot to the pair " I got the carrot" they happily announced.
"Great, now the snowman is complete" Gwaine says as he crouched down to gently ruffle Kaiya's hair. "Do you want to put the carrot on?" He questioned. Kaiya then nodded eagerly in response, they tried to put the carrot onto the snow man, standing on her tiptoes to do so but ultimately they were too short.
"Here, let me help you" the young Childs father said as he gently lifted Kaiya into his arms so they could easily reach the top of the snowman to place the carrot. " Perfect" Merlin responded after Kaiya took a few minutes to place the nose in exactly the right position. Then the farther and daughter duo along with Gwaine stepped back to admire their work as the snow fall changed from a light dusting to a heavier fall but not a blizzard. It was at this point, when Merlin heard a soft female voice speak. "Now I know why you three have been other for so long" she said bringing her attention to the snowman behind the three "He looks perfect" Gwen said, mainly directing it towards Kaiya. It was this that caused all three (Kaiya still in Merlins arms) turned around to see Gwen coming outside to join them, along with Arthur following behind with a Camera in hand. Both parent always made it a point to try and capture any moment with Kaiya, for I the worst were to happen they would atlases have physical memories of her time with them. Once all were outside (Gaius watching from the door way), a picture was captured of the Merlin, Gwaine and Kaiya with the snow man they had built. Arthur, then whispered something to Gwaine, who gently smiled in response. By this point Merlin had set Kaiya back down and was talking to Arthur and Gwen.
" Hey, Kaiya" Gwain bent down to whisper to the youngest. Kaiya looking up to him in response. "Want to know the bast part of weather like this" Kaiya then nodded, indicating that they wanted to find out. "Snowball fight" Gwaine responded with a grin as he bent down to form a snowball. then showing it to Kaiya. "Now, what you do is throw them at a person, ideally they should throw back, then the fight begins and down worry, I will avoid hitting our snowman. Don't want to ruin 40 minutes of work" . Then Gwaine, aimed the snowball at Arthur and threw it directly to the side of his shoulder, creating a slight 'Pumth' shown as it made impact with the coat he was wearing ; Arthur that turned around and in retaliation he lobed a snow ball towards Gwaine. the impact then caused him to fall back into the snow. This created a small contagious laughter out of Kaiya, who then tried to create their own, struggling to do so, Merlin noticed and walked over to her helping her.
"Let me show you how your farther used to always beat your dad many years ago" Merlin aid with a smile that all the adults outside hasn't seen in a long time. He then created many snow balls and started to set them off flying towards Gwen, Arthur and Gwaine using the very power he secretly fears that Kaiya may have. One of the many that were sent flying snowballs hits Arthur square in the face " CHEAT, you used magic this whole time" Arthur says while forming his own snowball. Before everyone knew it a full show ball fight had broken out, but Gwaine accidentally threw one too hard sending it flying towards Gaius, who-unaware as his back was turned. In reaction, Kaiya's eyes flashed gold and redirected the snowball to the other side of the garden and causing it to hit a bush. All adults noticed this, momentarily standing still in shock then Arthur ran over to Kaiya picking her up and taking her inside to Gaius as she had fainted from the exhaustion of using magic for the first time. Whereas, Merlin stood still, staring straight forward as cotton wool filled his ears the young man didn't notice that he was being guided back inside the house ,by Gwen and Gwaine, to the front room where the others where. He was gently sat down when a blanket was pulled over his shoulders. Gwen tried to get Merlins attention but he couldn't hear her. All Merlin could think about is that the thing that Merlin had feared most had come true. The thing was would cause inevitable darkness in his and therefore Kaiya's life.
Kaiya was like him, a worlock.
