Chapter 43
Chapter 43:
Draco had written so much to Theo that he’d managed to run out of both paper and ink, much to his frustrations the quality of the stationary at Hogwarts bookstore was abysmal. He’d have to make a trip to Hogsmeade to replenish his supplies.
After the war, Draco managed to give up a lot of his vices, many of his riches, and much of his former ways of life, but one thing he can never shake off was his love of stationary, quality quills and inks and the comfort of a book/bookstore. So naturally at the local shop Draco lost track of time and walked about with more paper than he could possibly use in a year. He decided to take a detour through the center of the square on his walk back to the castle since nothing but boredom awaited him. He passed busy bars and restaurants and was turning at the end of the street to head north when he spotted a rather familiar figure.
Instinctively Draco ducked into the shadows, the figure was indeed none other the Granger, and greeting her at the door of the restaurant was a young man who couldn’t have been a year or two older than Draco. He was broad shoulders and blonde, that’s all Draco could make of it. He waited until they went inside before he cast a notice-me-not charm and walked closer. He couldn’t find an excuse as to why he did this, so he resolved to attribute to this concern over Granger uncovering his identity with regards to the Fairy Well.
From his vantage at the window of the restaurant Draco could see that Granger and the man were seated in the center of the place, the young man whom Draco could see clearly now looked nervous, he looked tidy and bland, and didn’t look like anyone Draco knew. It only took a few more minutes of observations to determine that this was not a business call but rather a date, and from the looks of it, a first date at that. This realization was a shock to his senses and before he could dwell on the reaction of his body to this news Draco hurried back to the castle.
Why should he care at all what or who Granger does on her time?
