Chapter 31

Chapter 31:

The rest of the Holiday wasn’t noteworthy for Hermione, she’s found and devoured about a dozen books between Christmas and New Year, and being back at Hogwarts was a welcome distraction from his thoughts, her boredom, and overall his urgent sense of escape that’d come over this year in Burrow.

Actually, it was more than pleasant to be back. Hermione found herself with a pep in her step as she made a beeline for Sna-her office. The correction was often necessary even in her thoughts, because it will always be Snape's office in her heart. She smiled to herself being so wistful about her old professor who would surely scowl darkly at her sentimentality.

She knew there would be some on that desk, she just knew it.

On her desk was a rather expensive glass flagon filled to the brim with a clear liquid suspiciously looking like water, however, there was a magical sheen and energy about it. She had no initial guess for what it could be and she wasted no time grabbing the accompanied note to discover what it was. In the same elegant script as the previous note it read “Though it would be tempting, please do not attempt to ingest this water. Hailing from a location I must keep protected, I give to you: the water of eternal youth, or so the muggles call it. I trust you’ll find a worthy way of using it. –” The note ended in a way that suggested the person almost signed their name, sometime about the script bothered Hermione now, it looked so familiar, but she filed that feeling for a later time. She performed a few spells to fact-check the note’s claim and she was indeed in a position of water from the famed Fairy well that’s long been thought to be lost. Hermione’s eagerness was overwrought with worry, this person could be dangerous. To have access to this is to yield a great power in using the dark arts. It was rumored that Voldemort searched all 7 continents for this well in the last few years of the war.

Hermione paced the office stress creasing her brows. The other gifts were rare fine, they were harmless in most people’s hands, but this one, this one was cause to worry, but she wasn’t ready to give up her benefactor gifts nor was she ready to raise a level 3 alarm on what could be nothing. She needed to tread carefully, the gifter was giving her access to the most valuable ingredient any alchemist that’s ever lived could hope for. They’d helped her expand her research and develop potions and cures that never dared exist outside her dreams. But she would be a fool to not investigate this, moreover, she needed help from someone more acquainted with the dark arts to help her investigate this.

A name came to mind. “FUCK” Hermione yelled to no one in particular.

Hermione Granger had to admit to herself an awful truth, a truth so revolting it made her stomach twist. She had to go find and seek the help of one Draco Malfoy.
