Chapter 17

Chapter 17:

Hermione’s heart took a minute to recover once the door the room was closed. She really did think she was under attack out there, it’s a miracle she didn’t fire that hex without a second thought, It was a nasty one and Malfoy would have truly suffered. Her hands were shaking so badly from the shock, but there was more, the whole interaction with Malfoy was unsettling. It was the first time they’d spoken in all the months they’d been at this school. It was the first conversation they had and something was so familiar yet so different about the whole exchange.

As she continued to read her novel and eat her lunch Hermione had a nagging thought that wouldn’t relent. In the few minutes she spoke with Malfoy something inside her had shuttered an eye open. Like a part of her was waking up, she ignored the thought and focused on her book.
